Chapter 25

The Vampire's Call

HAVEN

Grace had a point. We had time before she became a mother, and maybe I should wait a bit. After all, I just marked her. The rest could wait.

“I get it,” I finally said. “We can take our time. I know you want to work in marketing, and maybe it’s best to wait until you get there. I’m not in any rush now that you’re here with me and marked. Pregnancy would also draw the attention of the other vampires. I don’t want that right now. Not with my brother’s issues.”

I knew my brother was capable of anything. He wouldn’t be happy about losing the house in Greece, so we needed to be ready for his revenge. I didn’t want Grace caught up in all this.

“We’ll be okay,” I added.

I let go of her hands so she could fix her clothes, and she gave me a bright smile. She got up from the couch and kissed my cheek before heading to her desk. We had work to do.

I had meetings all morning, but at least Grace was with me the whole time, taking notes and looking especially beautiful.

I was looking forward to lunch. I wanted to be with her and only her for a few hours. That would be perfect.

“Thank you, Mr. Silver,” the client said, standing up. “I’m sure we’ll do great work together.”

“I’m glad to hear it.” I nodded, extending my hand to him.

He shook it and then glanced appreciatively at Grace. I raised an eyebrow, not liking his stare one bit. She was mine, and even if humans couldn’t feel my mark on her, I didn’t want him to think he could make a move.

“Ms. Wolf.” He smiled at her.

She shook his hand with a smile, but I could see she was hesitant to touch him. Did he say or do something to make her uncomfortable? I would assign Clark to his project. That way, Grace wouldn’t have to deal with him.

I waited until he was in the elevator to offer my arm to Grace. She looped hers through mine with a smile. I led her to our office and closed the door behind us.

“What did he do?” I asked. “You seem...uneasy.”

“I don’t know. He just gives me the creeps. It’s the same feeling I had when I was...,” she said, thoughtful.

“A kid?”

“Yes,” she confirmed, tilting her head to the side. “I wouldn’t want to be alone with him in a room.”

“That will never happen. I promised you that I would never let anyone do that to you again,” I declared, pulling her into my arms.

“I’m not scared.” She smiled at me. “Not as long as you’re with me.”

“I don’t plan on leaving you anytime soon. You were the one who wanted to take your lunch break with another man.” I smirked.

“You’re not going to let that go even after what we did this morning?” she asked, amused.

“No,” I answered before kissing her head.

She chuckled as I moved back to my desk. I picked up my phone and watched her as she walked to my desk.

“What do you feel like eating, love?”

“Hm... I’d love some salad,” she answered.

“Salad?” I asked, raising an eyebrow. “Why?”

“I feel like eating something fresh.” She shrugged.

“Okay.”

I hoped that was all there was to it. I was worried that she was too scared to be hungry now. I would still make sure there was meat in her salad because I was going to drink her blood, and I didn’t want her to faint.

“What is it?” she asked, amused.

“I’m just worried that you won’t feel well if you don’t eat something more... substantial.”

“I’ll be fine.” She smiled reassuringly. “I just...don’t feel like eating much.”

“Is it because of the client?” I asked, concerned.

“I don’t think so.” She frowned.

I hoped that was true. I would kill anyone who tried to hurt her, and I would make it painful.

Ms. Dickinson from the lobby brought the food to my office, and she was smiling brightly, trying to show some cleavage to entice me.

But I knew that Clark was sleeping with her. I didn’t go after women that another vampire was sinking his teeth into, and she could never be good enough for me. Not when I had Grace.

“Thank you,” I told the petite woman.

I closed the door before she could say anything else and brought the food to Grace. She was smiling at me from the couch, expectant. She knew that when she was done with her salad, I would drink her blood, and she seemed to be eagerly waiting for it.

“Here you go, love,” I said, sitting next to her.

“Thank you, Master,” she thanked me, batting her lashes.

She was good at this. I pulled her closer to me by the waist as she started eating her salad. It didn’t look very appealing to me, but she seemed to enjoy it, judging by the small smile on her face.

At least, the ingredients smelled fresh and the meat was well-cooked. It was too cooked for my taste, but Grace had different preferences. She didn’t like her meat rare. She seemed more relaxed than earlier, so that was enough for me.

She finished her salad, and before she could say anything, I pulled her onto my lap until she was straddling me. I pushed her hair out of the way and looked at my mark on her neck.

~Beautiful~. I kissed it, and she shivered in my hands, brushing my hard cock with her already wet core.

“Do you want this, Grace?” I asked, my voice husky.

“Yes, bite me.” She sighed.

“Good girl,” I purred.

I seized a handful of her hair, tilting her neck to sink my teeth into her shoulder, just a little distance from my mark. Her moan echoed in the room as her blood filled my mouth. The taste was intoxicating. I could never tire of it.

Her hands slipped down my pants, liberating my throbbing cock. Her fingers began to stroke me, fueling my thirst for her.

I held her steady with an arm around her waist—I didn’t want to hurt her. My other hand nudged her panties aside.

She knew what I wanted. She guided me inside her, and began to move her hips. ~God, I love her so much.~

I moved my hand to her clit, rubbing it with my thumb while she continued to grind against me. Her walls tightened around me as I thrust into her. She was wringing me dry, and I reveled in the sensation.

“Haven...please...,” she whimpered.

I thrust harder into her, and she climaxed, her body trembling against mine. I gripped her hips and drove into her until I found my own release. I stopped drinking and licked her wound to seal it.

She was panting heavily, her heart pounding in her chest, her eyes glowing with satisfaction. She looked so beautiful, flushed from the pleasure I’d given her.

I felt a deep sense of satisfaction myself. No blood could compare to Grace’s. I wanted her to bite me too. But that would have to wait until after we had a brood of kids.

I kissed my mark, and she shivered in my arms. I gently set her down on the couch. I reached for the wipes in my desk and began to clean us up. Grace loved when I took care of her like this, and I loved doing it. It was in my nature to care for her.

“Are you satisfied?” she asked, her voice raspy as she touched my cheek.

“Absolutely,” I replied, kissing her hand. “You’re all I need to survive.”

Her smile lit up the room. But before she could say anything else, there was a knock at my door. Who could it be at this hour? I focused on the door and sensed that it was Clark.

What did he want? It was lunchtime for the entire company. Didn’t he have anything better to do than to disturb me?

I opened the door once Grace had straightened her clothes and let Clark in. He smirked, glancing between Grace and me, and I didn’t appreciate the way he was looking at her.

“Am I interrupting your lunch, my lord?” he asked, a cheeky grin on his face.

“Yes, so it better be important,” I replied, frowning.

“I heard that my sire was back in this country. Is it true?” he asked.

Damn. Who had told him? This could be trouble. Clark was one tough son of a bitch, and he was more loyal to my brother than anyone else.
