Chapter 122
Married at First Sight
Liberty sneered. âHe was the one who insisted on going halves, so I just did what he wanted. How is it right that he can do whatever he wants to me when heâs angry? Youâre distressed when you see him like this, but canât you see how he beat me up too?
âHeâs your precious son, but Iâm human too! Yes, my parents are dead, but even if Iâm an orphan, I wonât let you abuse me!
âAre you gonna come at me one by one, or all together? Come at me! Iâll be straight with you. If you donât want to be with me anymore, just say the word and weâll get a divorce. Donât you think you can get away with abusing me! Iâm not a pushover! If you dare bully or beat me up again, Iâll make sure to drag your whole family to hell before I die!
âHank Brown, I told you long ago that if you ever dare lay your hands on me, youâd better beat me to death because if Iâm alive, you should sleep with one eye open. Otherwise, Iâll chop you to pieces and mince you up!â
Libery glared at her inâlaws fiercely.
If they had the guts to charge at her, she would fight to the death and die with them!
The Browns were speechless.
âWhat a shrew! Sheâs so unreasonable!â Mr. Brown scolded Liberty and said to his son, âHank, come home with us.â
Hank was also frightened by Libertyâs behavior today.
He had known her for twelve years and never knew she was so ruthless.
Hankâs legs were still shaking when he recalled Libertyâs fierce look, so he left with his parents and sister. At the same time, he called his boss to ask for a leave of absence.
He had to recuperate at home.
Chelsea drove over.
After the Browns got into the car, Chelsea said, âHank, you should divorce her and take custody of Sonny. Donât give her custody. Letâs see if she can stay arrogant.â
Hank wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and asked his parents, âIf I divorce her, will you help me take Sonny?â
âMom and Dad already have their hands full with my kids,â Chelsea said.
After a moment of silence, Mr. Brown said, âSonny is still young. Your mother and I are helping Chelsea with her baby, and we have to pick up the two older ones from school. How can we take care of Sonny? Hank, donât be impulsive about the divorceâ¦â
âDonât give Liberty any expenses. If you cut off her finances, she wonât be so arrogant anymore. You can divorce her when Sonny is old enough to attend kindergarten. That way, we can handle the pickâ
up and dropâoff.â
Hank had a new lover, but he had not gotten a divorce because he knew his son was still young and his parents could not help him take care of Sonny.
After listening to his fatherâs advice, Hank said spitefully, âShe will never get a penny from me ever again!â Mr. Brown reminded him. âIf you donât want to get a divorce, donât hit her again. Liberty is ruthless. If you canât defeat her, just let her be and stop abusing her.â
Hank stopped talking He was terrified of Liberty.
âRight. Donât give her any more money. Also, you bought the house, and her name isnât on the title deed. Donât let her stay there and kick her out!â Chelsea suggested it to her brother.
Mrs. Brown said, âNow that Serenity is married and her husband has a house, kicking Liberty out is not enough to threaten her. Hank, I reminded you before not to go overboard for Sonnyâs sake. You have to be careful next time.â
âI saw the mistress youâre keeping. Sheâs not as hard working as Liberty.â
Hank looked at his mother in astonishment.
âMom, how did you know?â
Mrs. Brown snorted. âYou were so nice to Liberty before, but you suddenly had a change of character. I knew there was something wrong when you started treating Liberty badly. I saw you having dinner with a young and beautiful woman in a fiveâstar hotel a few days ago. You both had such intimacy that I knew right away what was going on.â
