Chapter 1353
Married at First Sight
In fact, Liberty did not use force. Serenity shouted on purpose to make her sister feel sorry for her.
âSonny, quickly save me.â
Serenity asked for her little nephewâs help.
Sonny put in the extra effort. He immediately climbed on the bed and recused his auntâs ear from his momâs hand. He even protected his aunt by staying in front of her and said to his mom, âMom, Aunt Ser will be in pain.â
Serenity hugged the little one and kissed him on the cheek. She said with a smile, âI didnât love you for nothing.â
Liberty poked her sisterâs forehead again and said, âHurry up. Go wash up, change your clothes, and come downstairs to eat.â
âGot it, my dear old sister.â
âAm I very old?â
âNo, no. My sister is still very young, like an eighteenâyearâold girl.â
Serenity had a strong desire to live.
Liberty responded amusingly, âIâd like to be eighteen but unfortunately, Iâm not Aphrodite, and I canât stay eighteen every year. Iâm going to pick up the car this afternoon. Are you free to go with me? Also, the instructor Zachary arranged for Sonny will come this afternoon. He wanted me to tell you that heâll be back for lunch at noon and will rest in the afternoon.â
The Marshallsâ banquet was held on Sunday, and many big bosses returned to work the day after.
Mr. York was a dedicated boss, so he also went to work as usual.
âIs it the selfâdefense instructor?â
âMhm.â
Serenity let go of Sonny and said, âThen Iâll go wash up now. Iâll go pick up the car with you in the afternoon.â
Liberty carried her son and said to Serenity, âHurry up. Iâll wait for you downstairs.â
âGot it.â
Liberty walked out of her sisterâs room with her son in her arms.
While they were still on the stairs, she saw Duncan carrying a box of stuff in.
Liberty froze for a moment.
Did Duncan not go to work today? Why was he at her sisterâs place?
Soon, Liberty came back to her senses and carried her son downstairs. She walked toward Duncan and asked with a smile, âMr. Lewis, what did you bring for Zachary? It looks quite heavy.
You shouldâve asked someone else to carry it in.â
Zachary had housekeepers, drivers, and bodyguards. Duncan did not have to carry things into the house by himself.
After putting down the box, Duncan replied to Liberty, âItâs not for Zachary, but for Sonny. I didnât go to work today and rested at home.â
He said he was taking a rest but came to Zacharyâs house instead, and he came right after Liberty arrived at that.
âFor Sonny?â
Liberty looked at the box. âIs it a childrenâs bicycle? Sonny is still too young, so Iâm afraid he canât ride it.â
âI bought a small bike, toddler friendly, for Sonny, but it has to be selfâassembled. I heard from Zachary that youâre here, so I sent it here and was thinking of assembling it for Sonny so he can ride and play outside.â
Zacharyâs villa covered a massive area. There was more than enough space for Sonny to ride his bike.
âMr. Lewis, youâre too kind. How much is the bike? Iâll pay you back.â
A bicycle was not a windmillâwindmills were not worth anything. Hence, Liberty did not stop Duncan from gifting windmills to Sonny and letting his son accept the various windmills presented to him.
Duncan responded, âLiberty, donât always talk about money to me. Have you not heard of the saying âmoney talk hurts feelings? I just like Sonny, so he must have what others have. Besides, the toddler bike I bought isnât expensiveâitâs really not expensive, just over a hundred dollars. Given my friendship with Zachary, whatâs wrong with me gifting a bicycle to his nephew?â
