Chapter 1373
Married at First Sight
Zachary could not pull a longer face.
âDonât you wish to have grandchildren too?â
Tania said, âYes, we do, but we never want to rush Serenity, so donât put the blame on us. We never pressure Serenity to give us a grandchild.â
âSeren puts the burden on herself.â Zachary knew Serenity was feeling it when she talked about getting a physical.
He believed Serenity was stressed from trying to get pregnant.
âYou should be telling Seren that the child will come when the time comes if sheâs feeling the pressure.
Itâll be harder for her to get pregnant while sitting under a lot of pressure. Tell her not to think too much about it. You have not been together for long. I think the medical examination is necessary after two to three years of trying without hearing any good news.â
âThatâs what Iâm saying. I donât think we need a check-up since weâre both fine and healthy. Sheâs just under a lot of stress. I told her that Iâll take her on a trip after Josh and Jasmineâs engagement party.â
It dawned on Tania that her son was reminding them not to rush or pressure Serenity even if Serenity did not get pregnant in the next two years.
The boy was conniving indeed.
As Serenityâs parents-in-law, they had never rushed Serenity because the young couple did not even have a wedding reception yet. Tania and Liam did not feel the need to jump through the steps.
âAlright now. Itâs a matter between you two, so you should take care of it. I can promise you that I wonât rush you into starting a family in ten years. You can decide when youâre ready.â
With Zacharyâs facial lines softening, he said to his mother, âThanks, Mom.â
âDonât mention it. Hurry up and apologize to Serenity. Donât just walk away every time you have a fit.
You go nuts when Serenity does it to you. Youâre lucky Serenity is nice and tolerates you,â Tania peevishly remarked.
Zachary uttered, âI got to go.â
Liam asked, âAre you going to stay for dinner?â
Tania jumped in. âDinner? He can forget it and leave hungry. All he needs to do is bend over and cry out in pain when Seren wonât give him time of the day. Seren will feel bad for him.â
Zachary blushed.
âMom, I never pretended to be sick or poorly.â
He was really sick the last time he had a stomach ache.
Tania glanced at her husband before replying, âYou have a lifetime to spend with each other. Are you going to guarantee that youâre never going to pretend to be sick or poorly for the rest of your life?â
Zachary could say nothing.
With her mother urging him, he turned on his heel and took strides out of the dining room.
As his sonâs footsteps faded away, Liam asked his wife, âTania, what was with the look just now?â
âIt means what you think it means.â
âItâs been years now.â
âIâll always remember no matter how many years have passed.â
Liam chuckled. âCome on. Iâll take you out on a stroll.â
Tania did not refuse.
Out of Wildridge Manor, Zachary gave Serenity a call. The call was connected, but Serenity would not take the call.
Serenity did not reply to his text messages either.
She was presently at the Soxesâ residence.
