Chapter 1432
Married at First Sight
Liberty was still weak and soon fell asleep again.
Even Sonny fell asleep in Serenityâs arms.
Serenity placed her nephew on the sofa bed and covered him with a thin blanket. When she saw that her sisterâs IV fluid was almost finished, she rang the bell to notify the nurse to come and change the IV.
After changing the IV drip, Serenity watched for a few more minutes before turning around and quietly walked outside.
Zachary pushed the door and entered.
He saw Serenity sitting on the sofa in the small lounge, looking dazed.
He walked over, sat next to her, and touched her shoulder, asking softly, âWhatâs wrong? Is Liberty asleep?â
âLiberty and Sonny are both asleep.â
Serenity leaned on her husbandâs shoulder. âBabe.â
âHm?â
Serenity just called out to him and did not say anything else.
âDid you want to say something to me?â Zachary asked warmly.
Serenity wrapped her arms around him and said, âItâs nothing. I just wanted to call you.â
Zachary said indulgently. âIf you wanted to call me, then call me more. I wonât find it annoying or noisy.â
âI know about the trending search.â
Zachary paused. âSeren, those paparazzi only spout nonsense. You donât have to take it to heart.â
âI didnât see what the paparazzi said. I only saw that York Corporation issued a clarification statement from you.â
The first trending search was taken down, and Serenity did not bother looking it up. However, she could guess what it was after seeing the clarification statement Zachary issued.
âBabe, thank you for defending me like that. I donât care if other people believe in me or not, but at least you defended me.â
He took all the blame upon himself.
âYouâre my wife. Weâll be spending the rest of our lives together. Who will I defend if not you? Besides, I was telling the truth. I donât want to have children so soon. We can have a child after our wedding and after spending enough time with each other.
âSeren, you really donât need to pressure yourself. As my parents said, let nature take its course. They wonât rush you to have a child. My mom said that they wonât rush us for the next ten years.â
Serenity left his shoulder and looked up at him.
âIâll be thirtyâsix in ten years. Iâll be at an advanced maternal age by then.â
Before Zachary could speak, she continued, âIâve also gotten over it. I donât want to pressure myself anymore. If I still canât get pregnant after two or three years, letâs do a test to see what the cause is.â
Zachary took her into his arms once again and said, âOkay. If we still donât have a child after three years, weâll go for a checkup together. Donât think about children for now. By the way, Seren, you donât know how many people called to ask about me.
âAll of them said they would introduce me to a good doctor and help me cure my infertility. The first person who called was that cousin of yours. Heâs the one Iâm least able to deal with. He only had a child with his wife a few years after his marriage. I used to laugh at him and said that I would introduce him to a doctor.
âAs soon as the trending search came up, Clive couldnât wait to shove back everything I said to him down my throat.â
Serenity said, âServes you right. Who told you to laugh at him before? Clive and Alice have a good relationship and werenât in a rush to have a child, but you insinuated that they were having a problem.
Clive has shown you plenty of respect by not beating you up.â
