Chapter 1437
Married at First Sight
Hank could not even enter the room even though he had come.
However, laughter could be heard coming from the room when Duncan was inside.
The stark contrast made Hank disappointed.
âHank,â Mrs. Brown said in dissatisfaction.
âMr. Lewis is in Libertyâs room, Hank!â Chelsea glared at her brother and reminded him.
âThatâs their freedom. What does it have to do with us? Letâs go.â
After speaking, Hank left his parents and sister and walked away.
He did not even pass the flowers he bought to the bodyguard to be brought inside. Instead, he threw the bouquet away in a nearby trash can.
âHank, Hank.â
Mrs. Brown went after him.
She glanced at the flowers when she passed by. Ah, the flowers were worth hundreds of dollars. It was wasted just like that by her wasteful son.
Mr. Brown sighed and left as well.
Only Chelsea remained at the wardâs door. She said to the York familyâs bodyguards, âI wonât disturb Liberty as she has to entertain her guests. Iâll visit her after the guests leave. Iâll wait here.â
As she spoke, she found a seat nearby and sat down.
The bodyguards let her do as she wished so long as she did not barge into the room. They were too lazy to care about her.
She used to bully their missusâs sister so badly. Why was she pretending to be a kind person now?
Half an hour later, Duncan and Lily exited the room.
Chelsea, who had waited for half an hour, stood up. However, she sat down again when she saw Duncan was with Lily. She even lowered her head and looked at her phone, acting like she did not see Duncan.
Lily did not notice Chelseaâs actions. She asked Duncan, âWhy didnât you stay longer, Duncan?â
Duncan turned to look toward Lily. She smiled and said, âYou donât have to look at me like that, Duncan. Iâm being honest. I donât mean any sarcasm.â
âMs. Harmon, letâs find a place to have coffee and talk.â
Lily agreed right away.
Ten minutes later, they entered a cafe.
Duncan ordered an Americano.
Lily ordered a latte. da latte.
âMs. Harmon, Iâm a straightforward person, and I donât like to beat around the bush. I apologize if the words Iâm about to say hurt your pride.â
Lily faced him calmly. She said with a smile, âYou can say whatever you want, Duncan. Iâm not a flower in a greenhouse that canât stand the battering of the wind and rain.â
âYouâre a nice lady, Ms. Harmon. My mom likes you a lot and is trying hard to bring us together.
However, I donât have romantic feelings for you. My mom mustâve told you about my thoughts too. I hope you donât waste any more effort on me. Nothing will come out of it.â
Duncan had told his mother not to hold on to Lily anymore. He would never date her.
