Chapter 1606
Married at First Sight
Derek said, âI disagree too, but what can I do? Thatâs Duncanâs decision. He has always disobeyed us.â
âWell, do you think Liberty will let Serenity know that I talked to her?â Mrs. Lewis suddenly asked.
âWhy did you go and meet Liberty? Didnât you say Liberty isnât interested in our son at all? The problem lies with our son.â
After a moment of silence, Mrs. Lewis replied, âI know the problem doesnât lie with Liberty, but Duncan refused to listen to us. Heâs very stubborn. I had no choice but to deal with it by approaching Liberty I wanted to advise Liberty to cancel her tenancy agreement and move her breakfast place somewhere else so she can stay away from Duncan.
âIn the future, if Duncan visits the Yorks, tell Liberty not to visit the Yorks to prevent the two of them from meeting each other.
âThat said, itâll be great if Liberty is willing to leave Wiltspoon and live in a place that Duncan is unaware of Iâm ready to pay her a hefty sum as long as she doesnât meet Duncan.â
Mrs. Lewis had long since wanted to do such things.
However, Liberty had the Stones and the Yorks backing her.
Considering the strong sisterhood between Liberty and Serenity, Serenity would meddle in the matter.
Once Serenity did, the Yorks would have a hand in it since Zachary pampered his wife.
Until today, Mrs. Lewis could not figure out why Old Mrs. York allowed Zachary to marry Serenity.
Also, Old Mrs. York was said to be the one arranging for Callum and Camryn to be together.
This old ladyâs taste was indeed unique.
Her grandsons were all outstanding. Even so, look at the kinds of candidates she picked for her grandsons. Other people might suspect that Old Mrs. York was not the biological grandmother of Zachary and his brothers.
When it came to marriage, all couples with wealthy backgrounds were well-matched.
âAre you trying to ruin our relationship with the Yorks?â
Derek glowered at his wife.
Mrs. Lewis said, âTell me what to do, then. Frankly speaking, I wonât approve of Liberty and Duncanâs marriage unless Iâm dead.â
âItâs too early to say that. Letâs see if your son succeeds in pursuing Liberty.â
Mrs. Lewis responded, âItâs a wise decision to force them apart before Liberty falls in love with Duncan.
Duncan is in an unrequited relationship. He can certainly get over Liberty as long as she leaves Wiltspoon. and never meets him again.
âItâs better for him to stay single than marry a divorced woman.â
Derek asked his wife, âDo you look down on Liberty because she has been divorced or because she comes from a humble background?
âBoth Her parents have passed away, and her relatives are awful. Iâve seen them all. The Yorks are good- tempered, so theyâre not offended by those awful relatives. But I have a short temper,â Mrs.
Lewis answered disdainfully.
âIn our circle, there are many rich young ladies for Duncan to pick, yet he doesnât want any of them. He only likes Liberty.
âHe might be rough and burly, but heâs merciful. Given that his love for Liberty is extended to her family as well, he might side with Libertyâs awful relatives. Theyâre like parasites. Once they stick to you, you can never get rid of them. Take Zachary, he did a great job. Those parasites have no chance to depend on him.â
As soon as Mrs. Lewis finished speaking, she suddenly lifted her phone. She leaped to her feet and said, â No way. We canât sit down and watch their relationship develop. Iâm going to meet Liberty and talk to her now. Iâm just planning to talk to her. I wonât throw my weight around or force her to leave Wiltspoon.â
She just wanted to have a talk with Liberty.
Derek promptly called out his wife to stop her. âYou want to disturb her at this hour, huh?â
âWhatâs wrong? The sky isnât completely dark yet. Itâs only at this time that Liberty is free. Mrs. Lewis insisted on having a talk with Liberty despite being stopped by her husband.
