Chapter 1658
Married at First Sight
Serenity poured three glasses of water and gave one glass to her nephew. Then, she brought over two glasses of water and sat in front of Camryn. She handed one of them to Camryn.
Serenity and Camryn drank half the glasses of water.
âCamryn, go ahead. What do you want to ask me?â
âIt seems that Callum went missing these two days. Is he away on a business trip?â
Serenity was surprised that Camryn asked about Callumâs whereabouts.
Callum went to Annenburg to beg Dr. Carden to treat Camrynâs eyes. He did not tell Camryn about it.
Before he received Dr. Cardenâs promise to treat Camrynâs eyes, he planned to keep it from her to avoid disappointing her.
Aunt Evelyn went to search for the doctorâs apprentice to treat Camrynâs eyes. As she was not as wellâ
connected as Callum, she had no idea that Dr. Carden had returned to Annenburg.
The apprentice was Camrynâs last hope. Although she did not mention it, Callum knew that she held high hopes for it.
If he failed to get Dr. Cardenâs promise to treat Camrynâs eyes, Camryn would be deeply disappointed.
Callum did not let Camryn know, nor did he come over. Camryn could not help but guess his whereabouts.
It was precisely because Camryn was guessing Callumâs whereabouts and lost in thought that she did not pick up on Serenityâs footsteps.
After asking Serenity, Camryn laughed selfâdeprecatingly. âHe usually sticks to me like glue. Heâs so annoying that I often ignore him. Now that heâs not around for two days, I canât help but ask. about where he is.â
Camryn did not dislike Callum. Being visually impaired, she felt that she did not deserve to be with.
him. She did not want to be Callumâs burden, so she always rejected him when he passionately went after her.
âDidnât Callum tell you?â Serenity asked.
Camryn shook her head. âHe didnât tell me anything. He suddenly disappeared for two days without giving me a call. Is he away on a business trip?â
âYeah. He left Wiltspoon to deal with something. Heâll be back in a few daysâ time.â
Since Callum did not inform Camryn about it, Serenity chose to hide it from Camryn as well.
She would let Callum tell Camryn himself so that Camryn would feel touched.
âOh.â
No wonder he did not show up these two days.
It turned out that he was away on business and that was what Camryn had thought earlier.
Serenity mocked Camryn by saying, âYouâve not seen him for two days, yet you miss him already?
Camryn, Callum is truly in love with you. Callum and his family donât look down on you for being blind.
When your two aunts and mine met, my aunt responded filled with intimidation.â
âEven though youâre blind, Callumâs family will be fond of you as long as Callum likes you. You donât need to do anything. All you need to do is spend money.
âI can understand your concern. I had the same concern too. When I tried to understand the elders of Zackâs family and blend in with them, I noticed it wasnât as difficult as Iâd imagined and that theyâre really nice. Theyâre the most openâminded elders Iâve ever met.â
It was rare to find openâminded elders like those in Zacharyâs family. Serenityâs aunt could not compare with them.
Otherwise, Elisa and Remyâs relationship would not face disapproval.
In order to ruin their relationship, Mrs. Stone tricked Andrew and planned to matchmake Andrew and Elisa.
After falling quiet for a while, Camryn said softly âThe issue lies in your background. Youâre not physically impaired. You can easily overcome that. But Iâm blind, and I canât see. I donât even know what he looks like now.â
She had touched Callumâs face before and imagined his appearance.
That was just an imagination.
Did he actually look like how she imagined him to be?
She had no idea!
