Chapter 1661
Married at First Sight
Liberty never told Duncan anything about her conversation with Mrs. Lewis.
However, he still found out from his mother.
Upon discovering that his mother had made Liberty move out, move away, and even leave Wilt spoon with Sonny, he quarreled with his mother in anger.
Mrs. Lewis was furious, and so was Duncan.
Ultimately, the mother and son were unwilling to compromise. None of them would give up and let go.
Liberty glanced at Duncan and continued what she was doing. She said, âIf Iâm not the problem, then I wonât make so many sacrifices.â
Duncan laughed. He liked that side of Liberty.
Sonny, who took the phone into a room, dialed Serenityâs number.
He knew the first number in his motherâs contact list was Aunt Serâs.
Serenity picked up the phone shortly.
âWhatâs the matter, Liberty?â
She thought it was her sister who called.
âAunt Ser, itâs me, Sonny.â
Hearing her nephewâs young voice, Serenity smiled and said, âHey, Sonny. Did you call me yourself?â
âYeah. I took Momâs phone and hid in a room to call you.â
âWhat do you want to tell me?â The little boy actually hid in a room to call her. Serenity felt her nephew was becoming more mischievous.
Learning self-defense from a teacher in the gym had made Sonny braver.
At his age, he was good with words and getting increasingly likable.
âDunc is here again, Aunt Ser.â
âDoesnât Dunc go there every day?â As far as Serenity knew, Duncan would look for his sister every day.
Sonny replied, âHe does, but Dad told me Dunc is here to snatch Mom away from me. Dad said to call him whenever Dunc comes over.â
Upon hearing what her nephew said, Serenity scolded Hank silently.
Hank had married Jessica eagerly right after he and her sister got a divorce.
The husband and wife were anticipating the birth of their child with excitement, while her sister already had a suitor. However, Hank was trying to ruin that.
Was her sister not allowed to marry someone else, but he could?
Regardless of Liberty remarrying or not, Hankâs teachings to Sonny demonstrated how narrow- minded he was.
A sc*m would always be a sc*m. His true colors could not be changed.
âAunt Ser, do you think I should call Dad?â Sonny asked.
The people he trusted the most were Mom and Aunt Ser. He dared not ask Mom that question as she and Dad had divorced.
He finally understood what a divorce was.
Therefore, he could only ask Aunt Ser about it.
âDo you think Dunc is here to snatch your mother away from you, Sonny?â
Serenity returned with a question.
After some thought, Sonny replied honestly, âLast time, Dunc told me he was here to join Mom and me.
Heâs not a bad person.â
âSince you think Dunc isnât here to steal your mom, you donât have to care about what your father said.â
âWhy did Dad say that?â
After a moment of silence, Serenity said, âYour father just finds it unfair. Donât mind him. Itâs fine as long as you and your mother donât hate Dunc. Is he nice to you?â
