Chapter 1663
Married at First Sight
Sonny treated Duncan as his backer. That act, which showed his trust, made Duncan happy. He grinned and Liberty was speechless.
âDunc, Mom glared at me.â
Sonny even tattled.
Duncan lifted Sonny with a smile. He asked him, âThink about why she glared at you. Iâm standing here, but she didnât glare at me but you. What can be the reason for this?â
Liberty walked over.
Sonny glanced at his mother and said obediently, âI played on the phone after calling Aunt Ser. Mom snatched my phone away.â
âThatâs not your phone. Itâs Momâs.â
Sonnyâs big eyes shone. He dared not argue over it because the phone indeed belonged to Mom.
âI asked why Mom could be on the phone, but I couldnât. She glared at me afterward.â
Sonnyâs voice gradually got softer. He knew that playing on the phone was wrong too.
Duncan said gently, âYouâre still young. Being on the phone too often will hurt your eyes and cause shortâsightedness. Your mom is doing this for your own good.
âShe doesnât usually play on the phone either. She uses it to communicate with other people.â
Sonny remained silent.
After some time, he asked, âWhen can I play on the phone, Dunc?â
âYou can have it for about ten minutes occasionally. Of course, not using it is the best. You can read or play with your Lego. Youâve finished assembling the Lego I bought for you, right? Iâll buy a few more sets for you next time.â
Sonny nodded. âOkay.â
He wiggled and slipped to the ground from Duncanâs arms. He walked past the table back to Libertyâs side and hugged her leg. He raised his handsome face and said, âIâm sorry, Mom. I wonât use the phone secretly anymore.â
Liberty bent down and hugged her son. âIâm not angry anymore. I forgive you.â
Sonny returned the hug. âI love you so much, Mom.â
Liberty laughed. âI love you a lot too.
âGo and play. I still have some ravioli to make.â
Liberty stood up. After glancing at her son, she continued preparing the ravioli.
As Duncan helped her, he said, âYouâve taught Sonny well.â
âA childâs education should start early. Sonny is a happy kid with so many people doting on him. If I donât teach him in time, heâll become a spoiled child.â
Duncan smiled and said, âSonny is adorable and affable. Everyoneâs drawn to him naturally once they see him and shower him with love. However, weâll also correct him and educate him if he makes a mistake. Donât worry. We wonât spoil him rotten.â
Liberty looked toward him and smiled without saying a word.
The people around her were financially wealthy and wellâeducated. They were extremely well-
mannered.
They did dote on Sonny but did not spoil him.
Ring, ringâ¦
Duncanâs phone rang.
He finished trimming a few ravioli before taking his phone out to pick up the call.
âWhere did you go again, Duncan?â
Mrs. Lewisâs inquisitive tone resounded from the phone.
