Chapter 243
Married at First Sight
Zacharyâs exclusive car drove away from the entrance of York Corporation. Jim only let go of Elisa after Zacharyâs car was out of sight.
Elisa turned around to slap Jim.
Jim quickly grabbed her wrist and warned her with a cold expression, âMs. Stone, I donât discriminate between men and women in a fight.â
âLet me go! I dare you to hit me!â
Jim flung Elisaâs hand away fiercely and said coldly, âI wonât hit you if you donât hit me. Ms. Stone, if youâre rude to me, Iâll treat you the way you treat me.â
Although Jim was a bodyguard, he did not feel inferior to others.
His boss treated the bodyguards like brothers.
If Elisa used her identity to threaten and hit Jim, Jim would not be polite to her.
âYou!â
Elisa was shocked by Jimâs cold attitude. Unlike Serenity, Elisa did not know martial arts. She only used her status to act as she pleased in Wiltspoon and had never met another young lady who was more powerful than her. That was why Elisa could do whatever she wanted.
Jim was not bothered to bicker with Elisa. He said coldly, âStop pestering my boss. He doesnât like you!â
After speaking, Jim strode toward the bodyguardâs car that was waiting for him.
Elisaâs face turned red and gloomy with rage because of what Jim said. It took a while. for her to come to her senses. As the bodyguardâs car drove past, she yelled, âWho do you think you are to talk to me like this?! Donât you know who I am?â
The guards on duty in the security room heard Elisaâs enraged remarks and thought to themselves, Jim only treated Ms. Stone like that because he knew who she wasâ¦â
Elisa was the younger sister of Stone Groupâs CEO and was adored by her family. It was not an exaggeration to say that she was loved by everyone because of her powerful identity. However, the employees of York Corporation knew that Stone Group was their rival, so why should they bother to please Elisa Stone?
It was impossible for Zachary York to accept Elisaâs pursuit.
Thus, no one in York Corporation was afraid of offending Elisa.
Zacharyâs exclusive car stopped at a red light.
Zachary called Josh.
Josh looked at the car in front of him and answered the phone with a laugh. He said, â Iâll be able to hear you if you just wind down your window, turn back, and shout.â
âJosh, Iâll have to cancel our lunch. You can have lunch at the hotel by yourself.â
âWhy?â
âIâm going to accompany my grandma. She called me just now.â
Zachary wanted to save face and did not say he was going to Serenityâs bookstore for lunch.
Josh said with a smile, âI can accompany Grandma May for lunch too. I donât think sheâll mind my presence!â
Grandma May was an easygoing person and was affable to the younger generation. She would treat Zacharyâs friendâcumâemployee like her own grandson.
âNot today.â
âOh-â
Josh dragged his response and seemed to have guessed the reason. He smiled and said, â Okay then.
Iâll go to the hotel by myself.â
After explaining to his friend, Zachary ordered the driver, âSend me back to Brynfield.â
During their stalemate, Zachary and Serenity had been living separately. Zacharyâs national MPV that he bought specifically to deceive Serenity was still parked in Brynfield. He did not ask anyone to drive that car to the office as he usually did.
Thus, Zachary went over to drive the national MPV.
The driver complied with his order.
Ten minutes later, the driver sent Zachary back to Brynfield. Zachary drove the national MPV and went straight to Wiltspoon School.
When Zachary arrived at Serenityâs bookstore, the students who just got out of school were picked up by their parents.
The bookstores and convenience stores in front of Wiltspoon School resumed their peace after the bustle.
