Chapter 2678
Married at First Sight
Pedro said, âI saw a car driving by. I didnât see clearly who the driver was, so I guessed it was her. She was really wearing makeup.â
âShe just put on a mask and sunglasses, and then changed her hairstyle.â After Kathryn finished speaking, she said to Pedro, âLet them follow Liberty quietly, not to monitor but to get familiar with Libertyâs figure. Even if Liberty is dressed, they will be able to tell she is wearing makeup because of their familiarity with her figure.
Every time I ask her out to chat, I must be responsible for her safety. If something happens to her when she goes to my appointment, Serenity and the others can tear me apart.
Also, when Liberty needs help in Jensburg, just help her secretly and donât let mom and her assistant next to her know about it.â
Pedro responded respectfully, âI will. Miss, the night is getting darker and darker; go back.â
Kathryn sighed. âI really donât want to go back. That home doesnât have the warmth that a home should have. Itâs full of intrigue, and no one is a good person.â
Pedro didnât know how to answer her.
Kathryn didnât want to go back, but she had to go back.
She quickly left with Pedro.
More than an hour later, Liberty returned to the Fortress Hotel. She put on her mask, sunglasses, and wig again and took the elevator directly from the underground parking lot upstairs.
She was reluctant to use the several human skin masks Kathryn gave her.
Such realistic gadgets should be used where they are most needed, so as not to go to waste.
The Fortress Hotel was Kevinâs main territory in Jensburg. She put on a little makeup just because she didnât want to alarm Kevin. She didnât want to guard against Kevin, so naturally, she didnât need a human skin mask.
After returning to her room and locking the door, she took out her mobile phone and called Duncan.
Duncan quickly answered her call.
Liberty said, âMr. Lewis, youâre still up so late?â
Duncan said, âIâm waiting for your call. You said you would call me when you got back to the hotel. Iâve been waiting. If I donât wait for your call, I probably wonât be able to sleep tonight.â
Liberty smiled. âI just returned to the hotel. Iâm going to call you right away. Iâm afraid youâll be impatient. I went shopping and bought a lot of things.â
Duncan asked, âWhat did you buy?â
Liberty said, âI bought some food, drinks, and things for Sonny to play with. I also bought him a few new sets of clothes. The weather is getting colder, and he is growing up quickly. Last yearâs clothes no longer fit him, so I bought him some new sets of clothes.â
Liberty lied, not daring to let Duncan know that she ran out alone for several hours just to meet Kathryn, and they only chatted without giving much useful information.
âI also bought myself two coats. We in Wiltspoon feel cold in the morning and evening, so we can wear short sleeves during the day. But in Jensburg, itâs more than ten degrees Celsius. I only brought an autumn coat here.â
She wouldnât go back to Wiltspoon so soon. The temperature in Jensburg would continue to drop. She needed to buy two thicker coats.
The next day, she would take her time to purchase those items in order to avoid exposing lies upon her return.
Duncan listened to her say that Jensburg was cold and told her, âPurchase two more thick clothes.
Donât you check the weather in Jensburg before going out?â
Liberty said, âI was in a hurry to go out, and I was thinking about you, so I neglected to check the weather in Jensburg. I didnât think about it until I got off the plane and felt cold.â
Duncan blamed himself: âLiberty, Iâm sorry for making you worry.â
