Chapter 291
Married at First Sight
Chapter 291 Liberty uttered gratefully, âSeren, Zachary is a good man. Youâre right about him. Heâs always by your side whenever it gets tough for us. He spared no resources and effort to help us. Be a good wife to him.â
Serenity replied, âI will, Liberty.â
Her sister would be upset if Serenity were to tell her that her marriage with Zachary was only for six months. They were only a married couple by name.
Serenity should keep it from her sister for now. âDonât lose faith in Zachary because of my marriage.
Although Zachary doesnât talk much, he prefers action over words.â
âI wonât.â
Liberty was worried that her marriage might have a bad influence on her sisterâs mindset and marriage.
The way Liberty saw it, Zachary was a great man.
He was good to her sister.
Well, no one would know whether it would change in the future. Hank was good to her in the past too.
Zachary got to the office and was about to get the secretary to summon Josh over when Josh knocked and entered the room.
âBoss, this is the proof you want.â
Josh drew close and placed a large envelope in front of Zachary. Taking a seat, Josh said, âItâs all in there. Hankâs lover is his secretary, Jessica Yates.â
Zachary took the envelope and pulled out the evidence inside. As Jessica left Hank hanging, the pair had not spent the night in a hotel yet. There were only photographs of them shopping, having dinners, and making out.
FIL Jessicaâs personal data and proof of Hankâs spending on her were also attached.
The Buchamsâ information network sure spread far and wide. There was photographic evidence of the gifts, price tags, and time stamps of the purchases Hank bought for Jessica. After reading the file, Zachary scowled and replied, âHank gave his wife three thousand bucks a month for living expenses, and that was before proposing going halves. Heâs now only forking out a thousand and five hundred dollars to pay for the cost of living. âBut the cheapest pair of earrings he bought for Jessica was a few thousand bucks. He only takes Jessica to fine dining too.â
Zacharyâs mind harked back to the day of his marriage to Serenity. Serenity had asked whether they should pay their own share of living expenses. He declined, saying that he would provide for her financially since they were married.
Hank must have asked to go Dutch with Liberty during that time.
Josh responded, âSince Hank is no longer faithful, he wonât spend money on your sister-inâlaw. Heâll do whatever his lover wants to please her.â
This was a similarity among many cheating men. They were stingy with their wives but generous toward their lovers.
That was why many women should treat themselves after marriage. There was no point in saving money for their husbands as their husbands would spend the money on someone else.
L 111.
A wife would scrimp and save for their families, knowing that it was her husbandâs hardâearned cash.
Yet, she would be in the dark about her husband splurging on his mistress.
With that in mind, Zachary pulled a long face and stopped talking Josh got up to pour himself a glass of water. After downing half a glass, he asked his best friend, âWhat does your sisterâin âlaw intend to do? Just let me know if you need help. For Serenityâs sake, I wonât let her be on the losing end.
IL âWhy donât you come clean about your identity? Itâll be easier to get things done.â Zachary fell silent before replying, âI have a sixâmonth agreement with her.â
Ultimately, Zachary was not that into Serenity.
It had been less than two months since they got married. He would be lying if he said he was madly in love with Serenity.
âSerenity and her sister are not the types to bite their tongues and accept compromises. My sisterâinâ
law will want a divorce. All she needs now is a job. She can fight for custody of her son once she has a job and an income.â
