Chapter 3604
Married at First Sight
Even though they had returned to normal and stopped twitching, they still needed to take the antidote developed by Lilian to be fully cured. But even then, they wouldnât be completely fineâthey would still feel uncomfortable for a day or two afterward.
Is this person really a doctor?
More like a poison doctor.
Lilian noticed that they had stopped twitching, and before they could get up, she moved forward to retrieve her needles.
No one dared to say a word.
Those tiny needles, with just a bit of poison, had left them writhing as if they were having seizures.
âAntidote!â
After Lilian pulled the needle from Clarissa, Clarissa grabbed one of her wrists.
Glaring at her and gritting her teeth, Clarissa demanded, âDr. Carden, give me the antidote!â
The pain and embarrassment she had just endured were unbearable. Clarissa didnât want to go through it again. She just wanted the antidote quickly to eliminate the poison from her body.
Lilian shook her hand free and said, âGet in line, from youngest to oldest. Since youâre the oldest, you go to the end of the line. No one can cut in line. Donât even think about lying about your age. If I find out you lied, I wonât give you any medicineânot today, not tomorrow, not ever.â
She added, âI donât have much antidote today. I can only give each of you a quarter dose, so youâll have to continue taking it for the next three days.â
Clarissaâs face darkened with anger. She felt that Lilian was intentionally humiliating her.
Audrey glanced at Clarissaâs dark expression and whispered to her husband, âHoney, since Dr.
Carden arrived, weâve always treated her with respect, havenât we? Think carefullyâhave we ever offended her or neglected her in any way?â
Dr. Carden appeared easygoing and was also beautiful, but when she caused trouble, even a strong man might not be able to handle it.
After a moment of thought, Darrell whispered back, âNo, absolutely not. Weâve always treated Dr.
Carden with the utmost courtesy.â
They knew Lilian was the apprentice of the miracle doctor, who had passed on his exceptional medical skills to her.
So, whenever Lilian visited Wiltspoon, those lucky enough to meet her treated her with the highest respect, as a distinguished guest.
How could they possibly offend her?
Everyone gets sick eventually.
Who wouldnât want to be friends with someone like Dr. Carden, who possessed such superb medical skills?
Itâs just common senseâeveryone wanted to stay on good terms with Dr. Carden, in case they or their family needed treatment in the future.
Camryn had been blind for ten years, but Dr. Carden restored her sight with just one operation.
Lilian had already explained that Camrynâs eyesight was partially restored thanks to her predecessorsâ work; the credit wasnât entirely hers.
However, if Lilian hadnât been called in to treat her, Camryn wouldnât have regained her sight so quickly.
She also discovered other reasons for Camrynâs condition.
âDr. Carden,â Clarissa said, suppressing her anger, âI apologize for my earlier actions. I shouldnât have allowed them to block your way, and I shouldnât have let my bodyguards disrespect you. Dr.
Carden, you are very generous and tolerant. Please donât hold a grudge against an old woman like me. Dr. Carden, could you please give me the antidote?â
Lilian replied, âI told you to line up to get the medicine. Canât you hear me? Or donât you understand what Iâm saying?â Clarissa was speechless.
Her bodyguards had already lined up according to their ages.
Clarissa looked at Audrey.
Audrey looked up at the sky.
Darrell also looked up at the sky.
Clarissa was so angry that her teeth were grinding. But in order to survive, she still lined up behind her bodyguards.
As she waited, a fire started to burn within her. Even if Lilian was as powerful as she seemed, when surrounded by flames, could she really lead everyone out of the inferno?
