Chapter 3628
Married at First Sight
Sonny adored little babiesâthey were small and cute, just like the little brother at his auntâs house.
Every time he visited Serenâs home, Sonny would ask if they could take the little brother home so he could look after him. He had plenty of toys to share.
Zachary chuckled, âOf course, I still love you, Sonny. I asked about the baby because Iâm concerned about your aunt and donât want her to suffer. Donât you care about your aunt too?â
Sonny nodded earnestly. âI care about my aunt the most.â
Zachary continued, âSo, when I ask about the baby, itâs because I care about your aunt, just like you do. Itâs not about playing favorites. Do you understand, Sonny?â
Sonny blinked, looked at Serenity, thought for a moment, then nodded confidently. âI understand, Uncle.â
Zachary praised him, âYouâre so smart, Sonny. Your aunt loves you very much.â
Sonny beamed with pride, smiling widely at the praise.
Serenity laughed too, finding it amusing how Zachary could so easily wrap Sonny around his finger.
âDid you have fun today, Sonny?â Zachary asked.
âYes, but sometimes Titus and I argue, and he cries when he loses.â
Sonnyâs voice dropped as he admitted this.
Zachary suspected Sonny probably lost more often than he won.
Sure enough, Serenity playfully ratted him out. âOut of ten arguments, you might win two or three, but sometimes you end up crying too.â
âIâm still young! But when I grow up and become a man, I wonât cry anymore. Men donât shed tears easily,â Sonny declared with a serious expression, puffing out his chest.
âTitus cries too,â he added, as if it was okay as long as he wasnât the only one.
Serenity burst out laughing. âThey have a blast playing together, but they also argue a lot. Both the winner and the loser end up in tears, but theyâre back to playing together within minutes.â Children are like that.
No matter how much fun theyâre having, there will be arguments and fights, but they quickly make up.
When Sonny and Titus bickered, Jane and Serenity usually let them work it out on their own.
Zachary smiled. âThatâs how brotherhood develops.â
Noticing the dark circles under Serenityâs eyes, Zachary said, concerned, âYou look tired. You should rest more.â
Serenity replied, âI miss you so much that I canât sleep.â
Zacharyâs eyes softened with love. âI miss you too. Once I finish my work, Iâll fly to FC Manor to pick you both up for the New Year.â
âUncle, please finish your work quickly and come pick us up,â Sonny urged.
Zachary teased, âArenât you having so much fun that you donât want to leave? I thought you wouldnât want to go home.â
Sonny responded, âI miss my mom. She said sheâd be home before the New Year. I havenât seen her in a long time. I miss her.â
Liberty: â¦If I donât go home soon, my son might just forget me.
âThis New Year, you might have a new dad. Sonny, do you really like your Uncle Duncan being your father?â Zachary asked gently.
Liberty planned to marry Duncan just before the New Year.
