Chapter 372
Married at First Sight
Chapter 372 Zachary said after a brief pause, âNana, you really do think in the long run. Tell your sons to put in the effort and give you a granddaughter instead. It might be faster that way.â
Old Mrs. York instantly laughed and scolded him, âIf your grandfather was still alive, would you say that itâll be quicker for us to try for a daughter instead? Your parents, aunts, and uncles are already old. How can they give birth to more children? They didnât manage to get a daughter when they were young, so they can only pin their hopes for a granddaughter now.â âMy third uncle and aunt are only in their forties. I think they can still try.â
If his third uncle and aunt were here, they would say, âZachary, you traitor!â
âAre you busy now?â
âIâm on the phone with my Nana.â
âLook, thatâs what I mean. Youâre not cute at all. Youâre not busy, right? If youâre not, Iâll go to the office to find you. Letâs go shopping.â Zachary was at a loss for words.
âIâm working, Nana.â
âThe company wonât close down even without you. Iâm asking you to come shopping with me for your own good. You have to get used to shopping with women. Only then will you have the patience to accompany Serenity. Itâs an opportunity for you to gain experience, but you donât know how to appreciate my good intentions.â
The corners of Zacharyâs mouth twitched, and he said in exasperation, âTell Callum to go with you. I have a lunch appointment at noon.â
âDidnât you cancel it?â
He was silent for a moment and said, âMy wife is currently being occupied, so I have no choice but to carry on with the lunch appointment.â
âHaha, you rascal! Look at yourself! What did I say?â
Zachary was speechless.
âFine, I wonât take up any more of your time. Iâll ask your third brother to have a stroll with me. Out of all your brothers and cousins, your third cousin brother is the most gifted at talking. I donât have to worry about being bored with him around.â
Old Mrs. York hung up the phone when she was done talking. She managed to gain something today.
At the very least, she learned that her eldest grandson was starting to be enlightened.
She sighed and thought, âI got so worried about that bratâs lifelong happiness that my hairâs turning gray.â Zachary stared at his phone for a moment and finally sent a message to Serenity, telling her that he had to eat with a client at noon and could not go over. An instant reply came from Serenity.
Serenity: (OK.) Zacharyâs expression fell.
âAm I that unwelcomed to go over for lunch with her?
âShe forgot whose wife she is now that she has Elisa to accompany her.â
The petty and jealous man forgot what he had stressed over himself several times.
He said he would never be a greenâeyed monster, but he was now feeling exactly that because of Elisa.
In fact, he could have called Clive and told him to bring Elisa back. However, he was afraid if he did so, Elisa would find out that Serenity was his wife.
He leaned back on the black swivel chair and frowned tightly. He finally knew what it was like to shoot himself in the foot.
After moping about for a little while, he put away his gloom and picked up the phone to call Wiltspoon Hotel to arrange the delivery of a few of his wifeâs favorite dishes over to her.
She invited a guest for lunch, so he should add some good food to the spread.
Serenity had no clue that her asking Elisa to eat in the store was the reason Zachary could not come over.
She and Jasmine packed up the items that Elisa bought. The students were alm st out of class, so the shopâs patrons would not be able to move about freely if the items were piled up there.
Elisa, on the other hand, was playing with Sonny in her arms. âSonny, Sonny.â Oliviaâs shrill voice was heard suddenly. Serenityâs expression turned sullen.
