Chapter 388
Married at First Sight
Liberty knew that she had to take care of her son and could not leave her son home alone at this hour just so she could catch the cheating pair in the act.
Liberty was contemplating if she should call her sister.
Should she disturb her sister at this time?
After hesitating for a while, Liberty felt that it would be beneficial to her to seize this opportunity to capture more evidence of Hankâs adultery.
Thus, she called Serenity.
Serenity slept so soundly after drinking two bottles of beer that she did not know Zachary carried her upstairs.
Liberty called Serenity repeatedly, which forced Serenity to wake up.
Serenity took her phone and answered the call without looking at the caller ID.
âHello, who is itâ¦?â
âSeren, itâs me, Liberty.â
âLiberty, whatâs wrong?â
Serenity, who was gradually regaining her senses, remembered that Liberty was going to bring up divorce to the scumbag Hank and thought they got into a fight again. Serenityâs sleepiness instantly disappeared. She suddenly sat up on the bed and asked anxiously, Liberty, whatâs the matter? Did Hank abuse you again?â
(L âHe didnât come home and said he would be back very late because he has business entertainment. It was almost one oâclock in the morning, and he was still not back yet, so I called him. But Jessica Yates answered the call, and the two of them were sleeping together.â
âDo you want to go and catch them in the act?â Serenity immediately read her sisterâs mind. âI need evidence of them cheating. That way, Iâll have the upper hand.â
âDo you know where they are?â
âJessica is so arrogant that she sent me the location of the hotel. Seren, Iâll go by myself. Can you come to my house and help me babysit Sonny? Iâm afraid heâll cry if he wakes up and doesnât see me.â
âLiberty, Iâll go with you.â
âNo need.â
âThere are two of them! If you go alone and if thereâs a fight, youâll be at a disadvantage. You can send me the location of the hotel, and Iâll accompany you. I can fight better than you, so I can beat them up!â
Liberty said, âSeren, trust me. I can do it myself. Iâll head out first, so remember to come over to watch Sonny.â She hung up the phone afterward. âLiberty!â Serenity called out to Liberty, but that did not stop Liberty from hanging up. She slid out of bed quickly, put on her shoes, and hurried out of the room.
Serenity moved fast, so she made some noise, which alarmed Zachary who was in his room.
Zachary came out of his room and saw Serenity running out the door.
âSerenity!â
Zachary instinctively shouted to stop her.
Serenity stopped, took a few steps back, and returned to the house.
âMr. York? Youâre not asleep yet? I have an urgent matter and need to go now.â
Serenity wanted to leave right after she said that.
Zachary strode over quickly. âSerenity.â He ran out of the house and pulled Serenity back just as she was about to rush into the elevator. His face was gloomy, and he asked her coldly, âWhere are you going in the middle of the night? Canât you wait until dawn to settle any urgent matters? You had a few drinks, so if you drive now, youâll be driving under the influence. Youâre not allowed to go alone!â
After a pause, he added, âIf you must go, Iâll go with you!â
âHank is with his mistress, and my sister wants to catch them in the act, so she asked me to take care of Sonny while sheâs out. Iâm worried about my sister, so I have to go and check it out. Mr. York, since youâre awake, please help me wake Mrs. Lane and send her over to take care of Sonny.â
