Chapter 447
Married at First Sight
Liberty did not have a car, so after she asked Serenity and Zachary to look for Sonny, she went to Hank to settle the score.
However, Liberty was alone, and Hankâs family was there, so she was outnumbered.
Fortunately, Grandma May and Mrs. Lane came to help out.
Just in time, Hank took out the divorce agreement he wrote last night and said, âLiberty, I admit that I wronged you. I also know that you canât forgive me. Since the two of us are no longer in love with each other, this marriage canât go on. Letâs get a divorce.
âThis is the divorce agreement I wrote. Take a look at it. If thereâs no problem, we can sign it and finalize it on Monday at the City Hall.â
Liberty took the divorce agreement with a cold face. When she read it, she was so angry that she wanted to rip Hank to shreds.
Grandma May took a look at the divorce agreement that Hank wrote. After reading it, she took a few deep breaths to control her anger.
The Browns were truly despicable!
Seeing Libertyâs glum face, Hank said insensitively, âI bought this house as a personal property before marriage. The only name written on the title deed is mine, so the house belongs to me. I bought the car too, so that belongs to me too.
âAlthough you have a job now, youâve only just started and havenât passed your probation yet, so you canât prove that you have a stable income. Iâll sacrifice a little and take over Sonnyâs custody. From now on, you just need to give Sonny two thousand dollars a month as living expenses.
âSonny is only two years old and still needs to drink formula and use diapers at night. When heâs three years old, heâll go to kindergarten. Tuition fees are getting more expensive every year. Although elementary school and junior high are free, he needs money for high school and college. When he grows up, Iâll have to buy him a house and help him prepare a bridal gift. All of that needs money.
âIâm taking custody of Sonny and Iâm only asking you to pay two thousand dollars as alimony. Thatâs a good deal for you. Since Iâm Sonnyâs father, I have no choice but to take up the burden.
âI have a lot of monthly expenses and donât have much savings, but Iâm willing to share half of it with you, which is thirty thousand dollars.â
Liberty knew that divorced couples would be at odds with each other because no one wanted to compromise. A couple who used to share the same bed would become enemies.
She did not want to be at odds with Hank, but he went too far.
After taking a deep breath, Liberty tore up the divorce agreement that Hank wrote and threw the shreds of paper at him. âHank Brown! Weâre definitely getting a divorce, but not like this. Do you think you can just brush me off with thirty thousand dollars? No way!
âI wonât fight for your car or house, but you use your salary to pay off the mortgage after marriage.
Thatâs our joint property, so I want to be compensated with a sum of money. I have a rough idea of how much your savings is, so you better not think you can fool me with thirty thousand dollars!
âWeâve known each other for twelve years and have been married for more than three years. For Sonnyâs sake, I didnât want to make such a big fuss. But you took Sonny from me, and I wonât tolerate it anymore! Iâll fight for everything that Iâm supposed to get, but I wonât take an extra penny from you.
âI paid for the renovation costs for the house, and I told you a long time ago that you have to return it to me if you want a divorce.â
Hank said shamelessly, âI also told you that you voluntarily paid for the renovation costs, so I wonât give you a penny for that. If you think that youâve suffered a loss, you can take away the tiles!â
Liberty glared at him coldly and said, âFine! If you wonât pay me back, Iâll use my own method to get back my renovation costs.
âYou said youâre sacrificing yourself by asking for Sonnyâs custody. Since you think that way, you can give me Sonnyâs custody. Iâm not afraid of sacrificing myself for my son!â
âNo way! Sonny is my grandson, so he must stay with us!â Mr. Brown insisted.
Mrs. Brown echoed, âDonât you dare think that you can get Sonny! Heâs my grandson! Heâs a Brown!â
Chelsea shouted, âHank, this is your house! Since youâre getting a divorce, kick her out now! You canât let her live here anymore. If she doesnât move out, make her pay the rent.â
Chelsea thought, âFat b*tch! How dare you beat me up like this?! I wonât let you get your way!â
âSonny will live with my parents in the future, and theyâre staying in my house. This means Sonny will be too. Since Liberty treated me like that, Iâll punish Sonny for it and make Liberty kneel and beg me for forgiveness.â
