Chapter 472
Married at First Sight
First things first, they had to deal with the problem at hand and that was seeking justice for Sonny.
The issue of his identity being exposed could probably be delayed a little more because he would be leaving for Annenburg soon to attend Ben YoungâJohnson and Jane Murphyâs wedding.
Anyway, it could be delayed for a while.
He also had to confess the truth to Serenity before Mrs. Stone saw him.
He hoped Serenityâs reaction would not be too fierce.
In the beginning, when he did not feel anything for her at all and did not understand her either, he thought it was normal for him to hide his identity in order to test her character.
After all, with his status, who knew if the women who approached him did so for the money or for him as a person?
Now that he had learned about Serenityâs character, way of handling things, selfâconfidence, strength, and independence, they were very much to his liking, and he was unconsciously attracted to her.
On Elisaâs side, once she ended the call with Serenity, she immediately instructed her domestic helper, âMrs. Franklin, please prepare some supplements suitable for children to consume. Theyâre to be a gift.â
Mrs. Franklin asked, âMiss, how old is the child?â
âA little over two years old.â
âChildren that age donât have to take supplements if theyâre healthy.â
Mrs. Franklin advised her employerâs daughter.
Elisa had not been married before, so it was normal not to know things in this aspect. It was her duty to advise the young lady, lest the young lady were to give the wrong present and take anger out on her when she returned.
her âNot even a little?â
Now that she thought about it, Sonny was healthy and indeed did not need any supplements.
âUnless theyâre iron, zinc, or calcium supplements, but we donât have any at home.â
Among the three Stone siblings, Clive was married, but because he was pliant to his wife and the couple still wanted to enjoy their time as a couple, they had not had children yet. Meanwhile, Anthony and Elisa did not even warrant a mention here as they were both still single. That was the reason there were no health products suitable for children at home.
âForget it then. Thereâs no need to prepare childrenâs supplements then. Just help me prepare some nourishing food for me to send over to Liberty. I canât show up empty-handed now, can I? When I go out in a bit, Iâll buy a few toys for Sonny at the toy shop outside too.â
If Liberty heard this, she would have thought, âIâm already as fat as a pig and being forced by Mr. Lewis to lose weight, and now Elisa wants to give me nourishing food?â
âDo you want it now?â
Elisa thought for a moment, then replied, âJust have it ready. After my mom gets back, iâll bring it with me when I go out then.â
Sonny looked like her aunt. Elisa thought it would be better if she brought her mother to visit so she could see Sonny for herself.
No matter if they were related or not, it was still a thread of hope.
She would not misunderstand Serenity to have ulterior motives; they could not fake this anyway.
Her mother would still do a DNA test as a followâup. With that, the truth of whether or not they were truly related would be laid bare.
Plus, with Serenityâs character, she would never do something like pose as her relative just to gain riches by connection.
âAlright.â
Mrs. Franklin obediently went to prepare the nourishing food for Elisa.
Elisa called her mother.
âMom, where are you and Dad now?â
Mrs. Stone laughed on the other end of the call. âWeâll be home in half an hour. Why, do you miss me?â
Elisa pouted. âI miss you so much, Mom! I think of you every day. At any given moment, Iâm thinking of you.â
Mrs Stone was annused by her daughter and joked, âI thought you only knew how to think of Zachary York.â
âMom, donât mention him to me ever again. He already has a partner.â
At the mention of Zachary, Elisaâs smile vanished.
That hit right where it hurt!
