Chapter 641
Married at First Sight
She also dreamed that he said a lot of things to her, but she did not hear them.
In the dream, she told him to speak louder because she could not hear him, but his mouth simply continued to open and close. She was unable to hear a single word and had been incredibly anxious.
Mrs. Lane turned to look at Serenity, then turned back to her work.
âI sent your sister and Sonny home yesterday evening and stayed overnight at their place. I really have no clue if Mr. York came back or not.â
Serenity smacked her own head. âRight, you didnât come home. Ugh, my head hurts. Mrs. Lane, can you please make me a bowl of hangover soup? No, Iâm going to take a painkiller. My head is killing me.â
Serenity turned and slipped out of the kitchen.
Acting completely naturally, she wandered into the guest room and found the medicine box to grab a bottle of painkillers.
âHeadache?â
Her sisterâs voice resounded.
Serenity was startled that she almost dropped the bottle.
âI have a headache from not sleeping well. Iâll be fine after taking a painkiller.â
Since she was seen by Liberty, she stopped trying to take the medicine secretly.
âHow many times have I told you not to drink? Youâre not a good drinker and get drunk after just a few glasses, but you never listen to what I say. Do you think you can go drinking without consequences because Zachary isnât at home to keep an eye on you?â
Liberty was distressed and angry. She pulled her sisterâs ear and nagged, âWhen Zachary comes back, Iâm telling him to take you along on his business trips in the future, lest you take advantage of his absence to go drinking again.â
âSis, his business trips are for work. What am I going to do if I follow him?
âI just had a couple of drinks. I didnât drink that much.â
âWhat a load of bull. Do you think I donât know you? You canât drink, yet you love to drink. If thereâs no one watching you, youâll definitely drink five, six, or even eight glasses.â
Liberty turned around and walked toward the kitchen while scolding her sister, âAsk Mrs. Lane to make you a bowl of hangover soup to drink.â
âI know you love me the most, Liberty. Youâre the best sister in the whole wide world.â
âYeah, yeah.â
Liberty glared at Serenity.
While Serenity was eating. Liberty went to the balcony and saw there were clothes hung outside. She brought Zacharyâs clothes in while saying to her sister, âZachary has been away for a few days, but you didnât help him put away his clothes. Why are they still damp?
âYou have good lighting here, and the balcony is facing east. The clothes will dry easily when the sun rises, but why are they still damp after being hung for a few days?â
It had not rained the past two days either.
Although it was cold, there were occasional sunny hours during the day.
The house Liberty rented did not have as much sunlight as Serenityâs, but the mother and sonâs clothes. were able to dry after hanging them out in the sun all day.
Serenity said instinctively, âZachary rarely dries his clothes on the main balcony. He has a small one in hist room, so he always dries his clothes over there.â
Liberty hung the clothes again and said, âIf he doesnât dry his clothes here, then whose clothes are these? Yours? This long pair of trousers should be Zacharyâs. Itâs clear theyâre menâs pants.â
Serenity was at a loss.
She carried the bowl and walked out to see.
She froze.
It really was Zacharyâs pants. His shirt as well as his briefs were there too.
âThatâs weird. I remember he rarely hangs his clothes outside. Besides, I helped him pack his luggage.
before he went on his business trip. I made sure he didnât have any clothes left out in the sun.â
