Chapter 666
Married at First Sight
Aliceâs uncle was a doctor who specialized in alternative medicine.
Whenever a family member was not feeling well, Alice would go to her uncle and ask for a remedy.
Clive really could not stand the awful taste of alternative medicine.
Hence, he looked after himself and tried not to get sick. He would hide from his wife if he had the occasional sniffles.
Serenityâs worry for Zachary was like Aliceâs worry for him. Clive soothed Serenity, âDonât let your nerves get the best of you. You want to get to the Enter title⦠Buchamsâ
residence? Iâll drive you there.â
âThank you, Clive.â
Tilting his head, Clive told his wife, âWait for me at home, Alice. Iâll drive Serenity to the Buchamsâ. I donât feel good getting someone else to drive her.â
Alice replied, âSure. Go ahead.â
âClive, Alice, the chauffeur can drive me if you have something to do.â
âWhatâs the matter?â
Liberty had just gotten her son out of the shower when she heard her sister talking in the hallway. With Sonny in her arms, she walked out of the room and popped a question.
Noticing the bag in her sisterâs hand, she asked, âWhere are you going, Seren?â
âZacharyâs sick. I need to see him, Liberty.â
Following the mention of Zacharyâs name, Clive and his wife nervously looked at the stairway. It was a good thing their mother and sister were on the first floor, so they could not hear Serenity.
âHeâs sick? Is it bad? Does he need to be hospitalized?â
Liberty asked worriedly, âDid he overtire himself?â
For her sister to rush there, stat, the man must be in the hospital.
Libertyâs mind wandered far. What would her sister do if the unthinkable were to happen to Zachary?
The couple had only been married for a few months, and the wedding had not been organized.
âDonât worry, Liberty. Itâs only a cold. He tried to tough it out, but it got worse. Iâm worried about him, so I need to see him. Iâll be back once heâs all better.
âIâm heading to the Buchamsâ residence now, Liberty. His colleague will arrange a private plane for me to get there.â
Hearing that her brother-in-law caught a cold, Liberty did not feel as tense as before. She said, âHurry there then.â
Clive jumped in. âTm driving Serenity to the Buchamsâ, Liberty.â
âAlright. Thank you, Clive.â
Clive and Liberty were born in the same year, but Clive was a few months older than Liberty.
âDonât mention it.â
Clive, Alice, and Liberty walked with Serenity down the stairs.
âAunt Audrey.â
Serenity had to let Mrs. Stone know since she was leaving. Serenity uttered, âAunt Audrey, my husband isnât feeling well. I need to head there to take care of him for a few days. I might not be able to make it back for the party tomorrow night.
âIâm so sorry, Aunt Audrey.â
The Stones was hosting the party just for the sisters.
Yet, Serenity would not be able to make it.
She felt sorry about it.
Mrs. Stone asked with concern, âHowâs your husband doing now? Itâs okay. You can go and care for him. Donât force yourself to rush back to the party if you canât. I donât want you to tire yourself out. Your sister and Sonny are here anyway.â
âItâs a bad case of cold and fever. Heâs a heedless and stubborn man. He likes to tough it out on his own. I fear his illness might worsen if Iâm not there to watch him.â
Mrs. Stone answered, âItâs the same for all the men. How are you getting there?â
