Chapter 730
Married at First Sight
Serenity saw Josh and Duncan and asked in surprise, âYou mentioned you were going to have dinner with Mr. Bucham and a client. So, that client is Mr. Lewis?â
âYes.â
Zachary turned to his friends. After receiving the signal, the two men walked over one after the other.
âMr. Bucham. Mr. Lewis.â
Serenity got up and greeted Josh and Duncan with a smile.
Jasmine also stood up.
After everyone exchanged pleasantries, Serenity said casually, âIf you guys donât mind, you can join us.â
âSure!â
Zachary responded the swiftest.
Josh looked at Jasmine and said with a smile, âMs. Sox, do you mind?â
Jasmine felt that these two men were ignoring Duncan, their important client, so she looked at Duncan and said, âIf Mr. Lewis doesnât mind, we can eat together.â
Mr. Lewis was the main character, yet these two men who were supposed to have dinner with their client marginalized him.
Duncan thought, âSo, they asked me out to be the third wheel, huh?â
His friends had their respective partners, so why did they still invite him?
Duncan did not need to eat anything and already felt sick from the sweetness of love in the air.
âItâs up to the host,â Duncan said.
Thus, the three men sat down as a matter of course and ordered more dishes.
After Duncan sat down, he instinctively asked Serenity, âMs. Hunt, why didnât your sister and Sonny join you for dinner?â
Everyone looked at him.
Duncan blinked as he thought, âDid I ask the wrong question?â
Serenity was so kind to her sister, and she loved Sonny so much. Thus, Duncan felt that it was a little out of character that Serenity went out for dinner without Liberty and her son. That was why he asked about them. Why was everyone looking at him. then?
Serenity came back to her senses and quickly replied, âMy sister is trying to lose weight, so she doesnât want to eat out. She said that itâll affect our appetite if she comes and doesnât eat. Sonny is more clingy to my sister at night, so if my sister doesnât come, he wonât come either.â
Duncan said understandingly, âKids his age cling to their mothers. Sonny is always scared of me, but I really like him. Every time I see him, I just canât help but feel like hugging him. Itâs a pity that he doesnât allow me to.
âYour sisterâs weight loss is quite effective. If she perseveres, she may be able to reach her ideal weight in three months.â
In the beginning, Duncan gave Liberty three months to lose weight.
Serenity thanked him on behalf of her sister. âThank you for your concern, Mr. Lewis.â
Duncan smiled and said, âShe used to be my employee, and now sheâs my tenant. Thatâs why I pay more attention to her. Itâs also because I like Sonny very much.â
Seeing that everyone was still looking at him, Duncan finally realized it and said, â Why are you guys looking at me like this? Do you think Iâm interested in Liberty? Her ex-mother-in-law also asked me if I was pursuing Liberty, but how could I?
âMs. Hunt, Iâm not saying that your sister isnât a good woman. I mean⦠Anyway, itâs not what you think.
I just like Sonny. Thatâs why I noticed his mother.â
Duncan felt that he was always at odds with Liberty.
Whenever he saw Liberty, he would get worried that his car would be damaged.
Josh smiled and said, âWhat are we thinking?
âWe werenât thinking about anything. Duncan, youâre being sensitive and overthinking it. Well, I guess itâs a good thing that youâre sensitive.â
Duncan kicked Josh under the table.
Duncan was only interested in Sonny, so he paid a little extra attention to Sonnyâs mother.
