Chapter 769
Married at First Sight
Serenity responded, âWhen are we going to your family home? I bought gifts for your family. We can go in the afternoon or tomorrow, so the stuff can stay in the car. Otherwise, weâd be moving them up and down.â
After much thought, Zachary said, âWeâll go tomorrow morning. I feel a bit tired since I just got back today. I should get some rest.â
The couple had been apart for three days, and he missed her so. He wanted to spend some alone time with Serenity before heading to the old residence.
âIâll leave the stuff in the car then.â
âAlright.â
Zachary had no issue with that, but he still reiterated, âText me when you reach the neighborhood.â
âGot it.â
Serenity then asked, âIf thereâs nothing else, Iâm hanging up now. Iâm driving.â
Zachary would see her soon since Serenity was on her way home. Hence, he said, â Alright. Drive safe.â
âSure.â Serenity then disconnected the call.
âLiberty, Zachary proposed to leave for his family house tomorrow. You and Sonny should come along.
I think Nana and the others wonât mind. Iâm not comfortable with you spending the holidays by yourselves.â
Liberty replied with a smile, âWhy feel that way? Iâm not a child. I canât go with you to your inâlawsâ
place.â
âOf course, you can. I married Zachary, so Zacharyâs home is my home. Is it wrong for my sister to spend the holidays at my place? I was always at your place during the holidays and even lived with you.â
âItâs fine. Sonny and I will have a calm and quiet celebration, unlike the previous years when I had to prepare gifts for my inâlaws. I got called out for being reckless with money if I gave too much and being arrogant if I gave too little. I got told off no matter what I did.â
Seeing that her sisterâs mind was set, Serenity said, âYou can visit our aunt if youâre bored. Jasmineâs place is an option too.â
âAunt Audreyâ¦â
Liberty was about to say something when Mrs. Stoneâs call came in.
She said to her sister, âSpeak of the devil.â
Liberty accepted Mrs. Stoneâs incoming call.
âAunt Audrey.â
âAre you out, Liberty? It sounds pretty noisy there.â
âYeah. I went shopping with Seren. Serenâs going with Zachary to his family home tomorrow, so she got gifts ready for her inâlaws.â
Since the stores were closed on Christmas Eve, the shopping should be done in advance.
Mrs. Stone stayed quiet on the other end of the line before uttering, âI called to let you know that the family is traveling over the holidays. We wonât be in Wiltspoon. Donât come over, or youâll miss us.â
âOh, okay.â Liberty asked, âWhere are you traveling to, Aunt Audrey?â
âWeâre going to visit a few cities. Weâd probably be back after New Yearâs break. Clive is heading back two days before the office reopens.â
âWhen are you leaving?â
âIn a bit.â
Liberty answered, âAlright, Aunt Audrey. I hope you have a great holiday.â âThank you. Whereâs Seren?â
