Chapter 824
Married at First Sight
Back then, she did not care because she was not in love with him.
Now that she was, she cared after learning the truth. Her heart clenched in pain.
When she thought about the recent time spent together and his affection toward her, her heart felt even more painful, and her fury was reignited too.
Was his adoration fake? Was it part of his deception too?
Her neck still hurt a little.
That jerk!
Zachary York was a jerk!
Felicia and the others were silent.
All of them were cognizant of Zacharyâs web of lies to Serenity from the beginning.
âDo any of you have an Apple charger? My phone is out of battery. Lend me a charger for a while.â
Felicia was about to reply when her colleague next to her nudged her lightly. She snapped back to her senses and quickly said, âMr. Zachary has a phone of the same brand. You can borrow a charger from him.â
Their discreet movements did not go past Serenityâs eyes.
She knew that without Zacharyâs consent, she would not even have the chance to charge her phone.
Was Zachary going to completely lock her up in this villa and forbid her from contacting the outside world?
Did he think he could keep her by doing so?
He could keep her body, but he could not keep her heart!
Serenity did not talk to the maids anymore and went downstairs with the divorce agreement.
While descending, she saw Zachary sitting on the sofa. He was holding his cell phone and seemed to be messaging someone.
When he heard her footsteps, he immediately put the phone back into his pocket and quickly got up to greet her.
âHoney.â
âDonât call me Honey!â
Serenityâs expression was as dark as charcoal again.
There was no helping it. Her expression turned bitter whenever she saw him now âSeren.â
Zachary corrected himself. âYou must be hungry. Letâs have dinner.â
He reached out for Serenityâs hand, but she avoided him.
She went past him and straight to the couch, then put the written divorce agreement on the coffee table and said coldly, âThis is what I wrote. Take a look and sign it if thereâs no problem.â
âWhat is it?â
Zachary came over and glanced at it, and his face changed dramatically. He suddenly grabbed the paper and tore it to pieces without even looking at it. He yelled, âI wonât divorce!
Donât even think about divorcing me! Youâre mine in life, and youâll still be mine in death! Weâll live and die together!
âIâll never divorce you! You wonât be able to leave me unless you stab me to death. and step over my corpse!â
Serenity glared at him angrily.
If looks could kill, he would have been killed by her countless times.
âYouâre simply unreasonable. Thereâs no way to communicate with you!â
âYes, Iâm unreasonable. And yes, thereâs no way to communicate with me. Bottom line is, youâre my wife. Youâll only be my wife in your life. Youâll never get rid of me!â
Serenity gnashed her teeth in anger.
If she continued to talk to him, she was afraid she would grind her teeth into dust.
It was infuriating.
She turned around and left, unable to talk about the divorce now. She did not even want to talk to him.
âSerenity!â
Zachary reached out and grabbed her arm. He yanked her back into his arms forcefully and lowered his head to kiss her frantically.
âIâm sorry. Iâm sorry, Serenityâ¦â
