Chapter 828
Married at First Sight
Serenity was surprised to see that the person who came in was her sister. She immediately put down her plate and walked toward Liberty.
Zacharyâs kneeâjerk reaction was to grab her wrist.
Serenity stared at him coldly.
âSerenâ¦â
Zacharyâs heart ached with such a glare from her. He felt like their relationship as husband and wife had returned to the way it was on their first night. No, it was even colder than the beginning of their marriage.
He finally let go of her hand and let her walk toward her sister.
âSeren.â
Liberty jogged over.
When the two sisters were face to face, Serenity plunged into her sisterâs arms and wailed her heart out.
âSerenâ¦â
Liberty hugged her sister tightly.
âCry if you want to. Iâm here.â
âLibertyâ¦â
The floodgates to Serenityâs suppressed emotions finally broke free when she fell into her sisterâs embrace. She cried pitifully for a long time.
Zachary stood not far away, watching his petite wife cry. His heart ached, but he could offer her comfort because he was the cause of her tears.
Ten minutes later, the Hunt sisters were seated side by side while Zachary sat by himself opposite them.
âZachary, I came here to bring Seren home,â Liberty spoke bluntly.
Zachary tensed his face and said in a low voice, âThis is Serenâs home. Weâre husband and wife. Her home is where I live.â
Liberty paraphrased, âIâm here to take Seren back to my home for a while.â
âLiberty, you and Sonny can move here instead.â
Liberty was speechless.
âWhatâs that supposed to mean, Zachary?â
Libertyâs expression turned cold. âAre you forbidding Seren from leaving this villa? Do you know what youâre doing? Do you think you can keep her by doing this? Youâll only make the conflict worse.â
âSeren wonât come back if she leaves. I wonât let her out of my sight!â
Zachary was insistent.
âYou-!â
Anger got to Liberty.
âSave your breath, Liberty. Heâs someone who only does things he thinks are right. Everything has to go his way. He doesnât care what we think. He wonât even give me the simplest things like trust and respect.â
Instead of the anger and agitation from before, Serenityâs face was indifferent. It was as if her heart had died.
âWhereâs Sonny?â
âMr. Lewis is still at my place. I asked him to take care of Sonny for me.â
âIsnât Sonny terrified of Mr. Lewis?â
âHe fell asleep before I came here.â
Serenity was struck by realization.
âIâm fine, Liberty. You should go back first. Sonny will be scared if he wakes sees Mr. Lewis instead of you.â
Serenity asked her sister to leave.
âSerenâ¦â
Serenity comforted her sister. âTrust me, Liberty. Iâll be fine.â
Liberty looked at Zachary, but he was staring intently at her sister. It appeared he was afraid that she would fly away if he even blinked.
When she looked at her sisterâs resigned expression, she sighed deeply and said to Zachary, âZachary, letâs take a walk. Weâll have a few words alone.â
Liberty stood up and went out.
Zachary followed silently.
Outside the house, Liberty stopped and turned to look at this brotherâinâlaw whom she once admired and always nagged for her sister to treat well.
She could see that Zachary was physically and mentally exhausted by Serenity after confessing everything, but she did not sympathize with him.
They were all adults. They had to be prepared to face the consequences of any decision they made.
