Chapter 863
Married at First Sight
âMs. Yates, you can go back and question your husband if you donât believe it. Why are you here to question my sister instead? You need to get this into your head. It was your husband who came to my sister, not the other way around.â
Serenity could not help but add, âIf youâre that insecure, cut off your husbandâs legs to make sure he can only stay by your side in the future.â
âMove out, Liberty. Move far away from here and donât let my motherâinâlaw find out. That way, Hank wonât come to see you.â Jessica ignored Serenityâs mockery. Right now, the person she was most jealous of was Serenity.
She was prettier and younger than Serenity, but it was Serenity who married Mr. York.
Serenityâs life was too good to be true.
Just what did Mr. York see in her?
It was not just Jessica who had those thoughts. Many people did not understand what it was about Serenity that moved Mr. Yorkâs heart and how she became his most beloved.
Before Liberty could say anything, Serenity got furious and said, âWhy should my sister move out? If anyone should leave, it should be you guys. Arenât you afraid that Hank will come looking for my sister?
In that case, youâd better move far away and leave Wiltspoon. That way, he wonât come back.
âIâll throw your own words back at you, Yates. If you canât manage your man, donât blame external temptations for being too much. This is what homewreckers like you would say.
âHurry up and get lost. I want to splash a basin of water on you to wash your brain when I see you.â
Serenity slammed the door shut and said to her sister, âThank goodness you divorced Hank.
Otherwise, your blood pressure might go off the charts from anger.â
âItâs not worth getting angry at her. The angrier we are, the more sheâll pop up, and sheâll actually think that I still have feelings for Hank. Sheâll come over more often to show off her sense of superiority as the victor.â
Liberty now felt nothing but calm when it came to dealing with people like Jessica.
âI was in a bad mood, but she came knocking and let me scold her. I feel much better. Iâm hungry now. I want an extra serving.â
Liberty laughed. âEat more then.â
The sisters sat back down at the table to eat.
Serenityâs cell phone rang. It was a video call from Zachary. She did not want to take it, but on second thought, she answered anyway.
Although she accepted the video call, she did not say anything.
âHave you eaten, Seren?â
Serenity kept mum and simply raised her bowl.
Zachary understood she was in the middle of eating.
âWhy canât I see you, Seren? Is your phone broken? Iâll send you a new phone tomorrow.â
Serenity remained silent, but she picked up the phone and held it facing Sonny so that Zachary could see him. Zachary saw him eating with gravy coating his lips.
âUncle Zack.â
Sonny waved happily at Zachary in the video, took another bite, and said, âUncle Zack, Iâm eating now.
Aunt Serenâs cooking is really yummy.â
Zachary spat in his heart, âThereâs no lie in that, little guy. Unfortunately, I canât eat it now. Youâre so lucky.â
His heart was incredibly bitter, but he smiled and coaxed the little one. âCan you share a little bit with Uncle Zack?â
âUncle Zack canât eat it.â
âWhy not?â
Sonny answered very seriously, âBecause Uncle Zack is inside the phone now.â
Zachary laughed. Even Serenity smiled.
The little one was quite good at talking.
âSonny, can you let Uncle Zack see your Aunt Seren?â
Serenity was speechless. He was using Sonny.
However, Sonny looked at Serenity in confusion and said to Zachary, âAunt Seren is right there.â He pointed at Serenity. He could see his aunt. Why could Uncle Zack not see her?
For a moment, Zachary did not know how to explain it to a threeâyearâold child.
