Chapter 967
Married at First Sight
Grandma May nagged Liberty. âYour sister and you donât know how to use the York family name for your own benefit. If you agree to let me arrange for those boys to come over and support your restaurant, I guarantee that your business will be booming.â
If all nine young masters of the York family came here for breakfast, they would be a walking advertisement.
However, Liberty refused.
âNana, we want to rely on ourselves. My aunt is also always saying that she wants to help me. The pressure on Seren will be greater if I refuse.
âHave you eaten yet? We can eat together if you donât mind.â
Liberty fed her son first and had yet to eat.
Grandma May said bluntly, âIâve had all sorts of food before. Of course, I wonât mind eating with you. In fact, Iâd love to.â
She was used to eating extravagantly, but it would be nice to have a change of palate.
Liberty brought out the plate of spaghetti she made and said sheepishly, âI only made spaghetti because I thought only Sonny and I would be eating.â
It was simple spaghetti and meatballs.
Grandma May said, âOh shush, you know me. I wouldnât have come over at this time if I didnât want to have lunch with you.â
She went to get a bowl for herself.
Grandma May was downâtoâearth. Liberty liked her temperament very much. Since Grandma May did not mind the simple meal, she did not feel embarrassed either.
The three of them sat at the table for lunch when the store door opened.
âSonny, I bought you a⦠Grandma May?â
Duncan bought another big windmill for Sonny and called Sonnyâs name as he entered. When he saw Grandma May, he instantly froze and suddenly felt guilty for no reason. Then, he tried to turn and run away.
âDuncan, why are you running away at the sight of me?â
Duncan stopped again, turned around, and re-entered the store. He grinned and said, âGrandma May, Iâm not running away at the sight of you. I just suddenly remembered that I left my phone in the car. I was just going back to get it.â
Grandma May glanced at his trouser pocket. âIsnât that your phone in your pocket?â
Duncan touched his pants and laughed. âOh, youâre right. My memory is getting worse as I get older. I canât even remember that my phone is in my pocket.â
âDonât talk about being old in front of me. Are you as old as I am?â
Duncan smiled sheepishly.
Liberty asked, âHave you eaten, Mr. Lewis?â
There was barely enough food for Grandma May since the old lady did not eat much.
If Duncan joined them, then Liberty would have to cook again.
âIf he hasnât eaten at this time, then he deserves to be hungry.â
Duncan was speechless. âIâve eaten, Liberty. You and Grandma May take your time eating. Sonny, I bought you another windmill.â
He handed the windmill to Sonny and spoke in a fawning voice.
Sonny looked at the windmill and continued to eat.
Duncan only knew how to buy windmills and nothing else for himâit was either large or small ones.
The windmills Duncan bought were not as interesting as the food in his bowl. âDuncan, Sonny is a very clever boy.â
