Fox 15
Le Renard
Alistair sat on Levi's lap as the smaller mage whisper read another passage from the book he was holding. Levi's head kept falling backwards, hitting the shelf behind him as he fought to stay awake. Every so often he would wake back up with a start and simply agree with Alistair causing the two of us to simply chuckle in amusement.
"So anything on this magical council?" I questioned.
"Plenty." Alistair replied.
"Anything useful, smarty pants." I smiled. He smirked back at me without even looking up before he sat the book he was currently reading down. He rifled through the stack of different sized books besides him and finally pulled out a small black book with nothing but a red crown on the cover.
"What's that?" I inquired.
"It's the history of the Council of Mages." He answered.
"The Magical Council?" I questioned.
"Not exactly. The Magical Council is comprised of all sorts of magical beings from different realms including the mortal realm. The Council of Mages was the only governing force for Mages in olden times. They didn't answer to anyone and were never held accountable for their actions until the war began. Within the Peace Treaty brokered between the warring Magical Kingdoms there was a clause that there would be a council comprised of a representative from each magical community regardless of the size or relevance."
"So all those people that were on stage today were from different Magical Communities?" Levi finally joined the conversation.
"I'm not entirely sure. It's completely possible that acting under the guidance and the watchful eye of the Magical Council there is still a Council of Mages that govern their own community, much like a mayor would for it's own town. They still would have to answer to their Superiors but they are in complete control of their own groups. The same could be happening with any of the magical creatures that we encounter." He explained.
"So instead of really getting answers we've become even more confused than before." I sighed.
"Pretty much." He huffed in annoyance, crossing his arms over his chest. Levi leaned his chin on the top of his head and made faces at me as Alistair tried in vain to get him to move.
"I think I know where we can get some more answers but we'd have to be really careful about how we do it." I whispered as I looked around the library suspiciously.
"Huh? Where are we going to get these answers?" Alistair questioned as he flipped another page.
'Merula.' I replied over our link causing Levi to look over at me in shock and Alistair to scrunch up his eyebrows in confusion.
"Is that safe?" Levi questioned as he nuzzled his face in Alistair's hair.
"She's fine to talk to. If she wanted us dead than she would have done it a long time ago. She had more than one opportunity to do so." I replied.
"Well how do we-" Alistair began.
"Alright boys. Time to call it a night. Your curfew is about to start in thirty minutes and I have to shut down the library for the night." The sweet old lady that looked after the library called to us from an aisle or two over. "If you'd like to take any of those books with you bring them up with you."
Alistair grabbed the black book with the red crown on the front and a few more and crawled out of Levi's lap. The red head stretched his arms out and rotated his neck in a circle before he actually got up off the floor. By that time the two of us were already half way to the desk where the librarian sat.
"Doing a little research?" She questioned as she looked over each book and began the check out process. Levi joined us and rested his forehead on my shoulder as we waited for he to be done.
"Um...Yeah. We were curious about our community." I quickly replied.
"That's good. We don't get many curious young people nowadays. It's good to see you in here trying to learn more." She praised us as she handed the books back to us. "You three go straight to your room now and have a great evening."
"Thank you. Have a great night Ma'am." I called back as we began to walk away.
"You too young man." She quickly answered as we exited the library. There were still a few students wandering around like us but all were pretty much headed back to their dorm rooms. It was strange having a curfew here, so far away from my parents. I thought about my parents and I sighed just remembering the last time I saw them.
It wouldn't be long before I would see them again. We were notified that all the students would be sent home in their version of Winter break. Every creature would be sent back to their own home dimension where we would all spend about three weeks with our families before coming back for the second semester.
It was true that I was a little anxious about heading back home but I did miss my parents. Even though the last couple of years were a little rough between us I knew that they only wanted what was best for me. I'm sure they loved me.
"What's wrong?" Levi questioned as he threw his arm over my shoulder, pulling me into him as we walked.
"Nothing. I was just thinking of my family." I sighed.
"Anxious to see them?" Alistair questioned.
"A little. I feel kind of guilty lying to them even though I know it was for a good reason."
"Yeah, lying doesn't feel good no matter the reason," Alistair pouted. It was already known between the three of us that he was keeping something from us but he told us that we would find out what it was later. Although I hadn't known either of them for long I knew that I could trust them both. I was a little worried about what it was that he could be hiding from both of us but I knew that it wouldn't be anything to hurt us.
"Well if it's for a good reason we just have to suck it up and keep moving on." Levi smiled brightly.
We walked back to our dorm room quickly, not wanting to get in any more trouble with administration. We were lucky that we've been able to avoid any and all punishments but we didn't want to push our luck.
Once inside the room Levi shifted immediately leaving us to pick up his discarded clothes. I laughed as I tossed his clothes in the hamper right inside our now shared room. It was strange, at first, sleeping in the same bed as two guys every night but now I don't think I could fall asleep now without them.
"Are you two going to separate for the break?" I questioned.
"Not really. We usually stick together during the holidays and we go to my home for half the time and then we go to Levi's for the other half." Alistair explained.
"How do you explain yourself to Levi's parents?" I questioned, intrigued.
"I told them he was my boyfriend the last time I saw them."Â Levi laughed as Alistair blushed a bright red. His head fell into his hands as he groaned loudly. Levi walked to the bed and flopped down on top of it, lying on his belly, thankfully.
I doubt I would be able to handle seeing him completely naked right now. Usually I was immune to his naked antics but lately I've been looking further south a little more and staring a little longer than necessary. It didn't help that he could read my thoughts either.
"It was so embarrassing! He didn't even warn me that he was going to do that!" He whined. "He just kind of announced it right as we walked through the door. His dad was shocked and didn't even know what to say and his mom practically suffocated me with a hug. She squeezed the life out of me."
"Well at least they took it well." I laughed. "I doubt my family would be that accepting of me if they found out I was gay."
"They don't know?" Alistair questioned.
"I didn't even know." I laughed sadly, my cheeks burning just a bit. I turned my head looking away from the two of them. How weird is it to have a crush on the two of them? I didn't want to ruin whatever it was that we had going on. We were good together. We were clearly powerful together and there was no reason for me to destroy that.
I still remembered what happened before when we all got caught up in the act. It was probably because Levi and Alistair didn't have enough private time together with me here. After the first couple of nights I had managed to sleep in their bed constantly and they never kicked me out but I'm sure they wanted to.
Two arms wrapped around my waist from the side and a smaller body pressed into my own. Turning my head back around I looked back down at Alistair who had his face buried in my side. He squeezed me as tightly as he could before he looked up at me with those big baby blue eyes.
"Don't worry. I'm sure they'll still love you and even if they don't we will." He encouraged me.
"I guess. I rather not think about it though." I sighed.
"Alright, well then come to bed and we'll forget all about it." Levi cooed as he shuffled around on the bed until he was underneath the sheets. I glared at him as Alistair simply laughed at his weirdness. He released me and waved his arm over himself and changed out of his school clothes and into a pair of shorts to sleep in.
"Will you be putting on some clothes any time soon?" I questioned him.
"Well I wasn't planning on it." Levi shrugged as Alistair climbed into the bed beside him. He snuggled up into his side and laid his head across Levi's chest. He looked comfortable and a little less concerned about Levi's nakedness.
"You seem pretty comfortable with him not wearing clothes." I commented as I walked over to the closet. I wasn't going to be sleeping naked but I still needed to change into something decent for bed. I grabbed a pair of shorts, quickly disrobing and dressing again before heading back out into the room.
Alistair was still snuggled up to Levi, who now had an arm wrapped around him, holding him close. They seemed so sweet together and momentarily I felt guilty for having feelings for either of them that were simply platonic. Clearly, if anything was to happen here it would be between them. I could definitely see them as boyfriends.
"As long as I don't look down and I don't really think about it then I don't notice it. Besides, we've been together for so long that I'm kind of used to it by now." He replied sleepily with his eyes closed. It took me a minute to realize that he was replying to my earlier comment.
"And he loves me..." Levi commented afterwards.
"Meh..." Alistair grunted.
"That's mean..." Levi whined before poking Alistair in the forehead. "Tell me you love me! Go ahead! Say it..."
"I love you now let me go to sleep." Alistair groaned as he reached up swatting at Levi's hand. Levi chuckled lightly as he looked up at me. His smile slipped from his face for a second as if he was trying to understand something and I had to check twice to make sure that I had a mental block up because there was no way I needed him knowing what I was thinking right now.
"What's wrong?" He questioned me.
"Nothing. Why do you think something's wrong?" I questioned as I walked closer to the bed trying to seem as normal as possible. He held the sheet up so that I could climb into the bed on his other side. Quickly, I slid into the bed beside him and pulled the cover up over my head. He didn't need to know what was going on in my mind.
"Seriously? What's wrong? You know you can tell me right?" He questioned and I nodded my head even though I felt like it wouldn't be appropriate to do so right now. "Alright, I guess we should sleep then."
"Okay, goodnight." I mumbled and rolled over on my side to try and sleep. An arm snaked around my waist and before I had a chance to say anything I was pulled back into Levi's chest. He wrapped an arm tightly around me and nuzzled his face into my hair. His warm breath fanned over my neck sending shivers down my spine and straight to my cock.
The things that this boy did to me were ridiculous and I'm sure he wasn't even trying. He was definitely just being playful and I couldn't think more of it than that. He radiated a heat that was so tempting that I found myself relaxing back into his hold.
"Why are you so far away?" He questioned as he took a deep breath, breathing in my scent.
"Wha-I don't know what you mean." I blushed, thankful that he couldn't see me in this dark room.
"Will you two cut it out and go to sleep?" Alistair groaned. "I don't want to hear any sex sounds either." He chided.
"Wha- What sex sounds?" I sputtered. " I would never..."
"I'm not blind." He snorted and I immediately felt bad. Clearly Levi was a flirt but it didn't mean that Alistair should suffer. It was clear to see that Alistair and Levi had something special together and I didn't want to be the one to break that up. I sighed and pulled Levi's arm from around me, climbing out the bed quickly. Levi looked up at me in confusion and Alistair rolled over to face us, leaning up on his elbows to look at me.
"I'm going to just go to sleep now..." I muttered as my cheeks warmed up. "...in my room."
"Oh..." Alistair whispered.
"So I'll see you guys in the morning?" I questioned as I moved closer to the door leading out to the hallway.
"Um...Goodnight then." Levi replied in confusion.
With that I left the bedroom and walked down to my room. It felt weird being in my own room after so many nights sharing a bed with them. I looked around my room in sadness before climbing into the bed. The bed was cold and I was cold and I didn't want to be there.
With a sigh I closed my eyes and tried in vain to go to sleep. No matter how many sheep I counted or how many glasses of warm milk I drank I was unable to fall asleep. My eyes closed, my head rested on the pillow and I tried once more in vain, in the wee hours of the night to fall asleep.
The room was too cold, the bed was too hard, then the room was too hot and the bed was way too soft. Everything annoyed me right now and I couldn't understand why. I just wanted to go to sleep and I couldn't stop tossing and turning.
The sound of a feet shuffling along the floor outside my door snapped me from my silent thoughts as I focused on the sound. With everything that had been happening to us lately I was a little on edge about what was about to happen. Throwing the covers off of me as quietly as I could I carefully got out of the bed and stood on the ground in a defensive stance that Tommy had taught us, waiting for whoever it was that had stopped outside my door to come in.
The door creaked open and Alistair popped his head in causing me to straighten up. His blonde curls fell to one side as he looked over at me. He realized that I was awake and that was all it took. I stared out at him as he shuffled into the room, leaving the door open with Levi falling behind him with a blanket wrapped around him.
"What's up?" I questioned in confusion.
"Couldn't sleep." Alistair grumbled as he walked over to my bed, pushed past me and climbed in. Levi followed behind him and crawled over Alistair to lay down in the middle as I stood beside the bed staring down at the two of them in confusion.
"Wait. What? So you're going to sleep in here?" I questioned as Alistair laid his head on top of Levi's chest. Levi ran his fingers through Alistair's hair, earning him a sigh of appreciation from the younger male as he tried to go to sleep.
"Doesn't matter where we sleep as long as we sleep together." Levi replied as he unwrapped himself from the sheet and I just knew that he had no clothes on underneath it. He shuffled about until he was under the blanket on my bed before holding it up and waiting for me to come around and climb in.
"Hurry up Tae, I'm tired." Alistair grumbled as she shifted closer to Levi. I felt the corner of my lips turn up into a smile before I walked around to the other side of the bed and climbed in beside the two of them. Levi pulled me to him as well and I rested my head on his shoulder, breathing in his scent. I wouldn't overthink it. All I needed to do was climb in the bed and go to sleep and that was good enough for all of us.
