Chapter 791 - Childhood Friends

Xia Ning walked over and sat down. She looked at Jin Yan and said suddenly, “Jin Yan, didn’t you say Li Man went overseas yesterday?”

Li Man answered, “Yeah, I had an event overseas yesterday and only came back today. I heard from Jin Yan that you turned him down when he asked you out for dinner yesterday. So I think it might be because he didn’t have enough face. I said I could ask you out.” As she spoke, she turned her head to look at Jin Yan and said with a smile, “I admit defeat, my Music King Jin!”

Jin Yan looked at Li Man with a pampering look and smiled. “Yeah, I lost because of you.” As he spoke, he turned to Xia Ning. “Xiao Ke, it’s all because of you that I lost. To you, I’m not as important as Li Man.”

Xia Ning looked at Jin Yan and said with a smile, “Yes, yes, it’s all my fault. I’ll treat you to dinner today. Just take it as me apologizing to you, Movie King Jin.”

“That’s not enough!” Jin Yan looked at Xia Ning and raised his eyebrows. “Can you show some sincerity?”

“Then what do you want?” Xia Ning was a bit speechless. She looked at Li Man and said with a smile, “These days, you can’t offend anyone at all. Otherwise, you can’t even apologize.”

Li Man saw Xia Ning’s eyes and said to Jin Yan, “Jin Yan, don’t slaughter Xia Ning. Otherwise, I won’t let you off.”

“Why would I slaughter Xiao Ke? I just hope that she can take some time to film my music video in the next two days.” Jin Yan shrugged. “Well, someone’s been busy lately and kept pushing it back. Sigh...”

Xia Ning picked up the teacup and took a sip of tea. Fang said with a smile, “You are joking, aren’t you? I’m just taking advantage of the elderly.”

“There needs to be an elder to take advantage of.” Li Man shrugged. “Jin Yan and I have never had parents since we were young. We can only grow up in the orphanage. Sigh, I really envy you.”

“Li Man!” Jin Yan frowned and said in a low voice.

Li Man knew she had said something wrong. Xia Ning grew up in the orphanage too. She looked at Xia Ning awkwardly. “Sorry, I just...”

“It’s okay!” Xia Ning smiled. “It’s all in the past. I don’t mind. But Li Man, you grew up in the orphanage too?”

“Yeah, Jin Yan and I grew up in the same orphanage,” Li Man said with a smile. She held Jin Yan’s arm subconsciously and looked at him with a sweet face.

Jin Yan met her eyes with a gentle look.

Xia Ning looked at the two in surprise. She opened her mouth and said in disbelief, “Really?!”

“Of course!” Jin Yan said to Xia Ning.

Li Man also smiled and said, “Otherwise, how could I be able to woo a prince charming like Music King Jin?”

Xia Ning said with a smile, “Childhood sweethearts. I’m so jealous. I wish you all the best.” She picked up the teacup. “I need to drive tonight and can’t drink. I’ll use tea as a replacement.”

“Thank you!” Li Man picked up the teacup, while Jin Yan held the glass.

After dinner, it was already past nine when the three of them left the restaurant.

Jin Yan had a lot to drink and his head was a bit heavy. Li Man and Xia Ning helped him out.

Li Man looked at Xia Ning and said, “I’ll drive the car over. Xia Ning, help me hold Jin Yan.”

“Ok!” Xia Ning nodded. She took all of Jin Yan’s weight and let him lean on her.

But Jin Yan was restless and mumbled, “Xiao Ke, I’m not drunk. Go to my place tonight and I can drink with you.”

“Fine, fine. You are not drunk. Let’s get the car first.” Xia Ning was a bit speechless. People were all the same when they become drunk.

There were no seats around. Xia Ning could only drag Jin Yan to the roadside and wait for Li Man.

But what she did not know was that there were flashing lights from somewhere she could not see.
