Chapter 124
THE LYCAN KING’S SECOND CHANCE MATE
Chapter 0124
âItâs a draw.â A guy called Taylor says, clapping his hands. âIn order to have this settled, Nelly and Ashanti will have a duel after training today. Whoever wins will occupy the second spot.â
âI already said itâs not about duels. Itâs about origin! The idea of settling this with a duel is preposterous!â The guy who bashed me a while ago argues, but Taylor shakes his head and looks at Delta Kyle witoâs watching us all very attentively.
âDelta. What do you think?â Asks Taylor. Kyle looks at me and I plead with him yet again to stop this nonesense, but the traitor smiles and says;
âIt will be settled with a duel.â
I want to scream till my lungs collapse.
âThis is ridiculous!â Rex laments.
âGood luck girls.â Says Kyle as he starts jogging for us to follow suit. I wish I could strangle his neck with my eyes. My heart is not only beating fast out of anger, but fear and nervousness.
Nelly seems to be mad at me for something. She looks very upset. Sheâs definitely going to summon all her Lycan strength during this duel today. I saw the look on her face when Landon praised me and said I was stronger than her. She didnât look too happy about that, but she smiled from molar to play when the other guy praised her. Sheâs going to do everything in her power to win.
âRed!â
I cry out in agony, tapping my left hand on the mat and Nelly finally letâs go of my right hand. This is the tenth round and the eightth Nelly is winning.
âItâs over! Nelly is the winner!â Someone shouts out and they all go to lift Nelly up for proving Lycans are superior to ordinary werewolves in terms of strength.
She didnât ge
what I Gi
y on me and that just confirms the fact that sheâs upset with me. I wonder und her.
Alina keeps winking at me everytime our gazes meet. Sheâs enjoying my defeat. Good for her.
âYou good?â Kyle catches up with me on my to the seats.
âYeah.â
âYou didnât fight like always.â I stop walking and look at him.
âWhat do you mean?â
âYou took several punches you could block or simply dodge. You fell too easily. You didnât throw any meaningful punch or kick. Ashanti, Iâve watched you fight countless times, Iâve even fought with you.
You are a strong, tactful and resilient fighter. Thatâs not what I saw a few minutes ago.â
âI fought as best as I could.â I lie.

âNo, you did not.â He argues.
âAnd how do you know that?â
âI know you.â He sounds very confident. âDid you let her win on purpose?â
âWhat? No. Of course not!â
âSo, you were distracted then.â
âWhy does it even matter?â His gaze intensifies. He wants answers and I know he wonât let me go till I give him a proper explanation. âFine. I was distracted.â
âAnd look where that got you. You lost a very important game.â
âI donât care. Whatâs important is that I know my strengths. Iâm no ordinary werewolf. Iâm an Alpha werewolf and I didnât just start training a few weeks ago like that guy claimed. Iâve been. learning how to fight since I was five years old and Iâm here to learn new skills, not compete with anyone.â
Iâm getting everyoneâs attention, but I donât care. I suck in a deep breath and train my eyes on Rex for a while before looking back at Kyle. âIf they want to use my werewolf status to downgrade me so they can feel better about themselves as Lycans, so they can feel like they are superior to me, I urge them to go ahead and do so but I know who I am and thatâs all what matters!â I am almost screaming by the time I finish that statement.
Yes, Iâm angry.
Lycans never miss the opportunity to brag about their superiority to us, the normal. werewolves and Iâm sick of it.
All eyes are on me and I know it, but I donât care. I said what I said.
âExcuse me.â I donât wait for Kyle to dismiss, I walk away from him to the sea ts where I pick up my back and head for the door.
âHow did that feel?â Alina jumps in my way.
Get
your ugly face out of my sight, b i t c h!â I push her away and storm out of the arena,
fuming.
