We got the project to ourselves and it was the first project I worked on with Chase that I completed. When the conference finished, I quickly grabbed my stuff and told Mr. Chivalry that I had to leave. He didn't mind and so I headed out.
"Olive where are you going?" Rhea asked me as she came running behind me.
I told her about the call and she looked at me sympathetically. "Do you want me to come with you?" She asked.
"No," I replied as I started heading out.
"I'm sure it'll be okay," Rhea stated as she followed me.
"You have no idea how this feels like Rhea so please stay out of this," I said as I went out the door.
"But olive I know-" Rhea started.
"Stop," I interjected. "Nothing you say or do will make me feel better so please just leave me alone."
"But-"
"I don't want to hear it," I said as I stopped a taxi and left.

I quickly ran into the hospital and went to the front desk. "Rosalinda Marie Vasquez?" I asked the lady who was sitting while making a phone call.
"Floor 3rd," she said nonchalantly.
"But-" I started but then I just ran to the end of the hall. I was trying to find the elevator or the stairs but couldn't find it because this hospital was huge.
Just then I bumped into someone who was holding glassware. The glass was scattered all over the ground and I hit my head on one of the pieces. I winced but quickly got up saying "sorry."
As I was about to turn, someone grabbed my forearm. I looked back angrily and he let go of me. "I am sorry but you have a piece of glass on your forehead, I need to take it out," he spoke.
"I don't have time," I said as I tried to leave but he didn't let go of me.
"I can't let you leave without taking the glass out," he said.
I sighed. "Fine," I said as he took me to an ER and I sat on the bed. I looked around and saw many sick people. I have to find her. I stood up to leave but saw him coming towards me with a tray.
I sat down and he grabbed a chair and sat in front of me. He took the scissors and a needle with a thread. "You need stitches," he said as I nodded.
I wasn't scared of needles but I knew so many people who were. He came closer and took the glass out, slowly. Carefully, he cleaned the cut and took the stitches. He was taking forever.
I sighed and stretched my arm to take the needle in my hand. He gave me a confusing look as I snatched the needle from his hand. "Hold the mirror," I said.
"I'm sorry miss I can't let you do it by yourself," he said.
"Let me do it by myself or I won't let you do it," I debated.
"Fine," he said as he held the mirror up.
Before I started working at Mr. Chivalry's, I went to med school. I wanted to become a doctor but unfortunately mom and dad had a divorce. I couldn't leave Keechee alone so I decided to peruse something in business to keep it simple.
I started stitching myself as I looked at myself in the mirror. I completed stitching fast and placed a bandaid on my cut. "Thank you," I said as I stood up and left the room.
I asked for help and quickly went to the 3rd floor. I looked on the doors and looked for her name. Finally one of them said Rosalinda Marie Vasquez and I barged in.
Just as I saw mom laying flat on the bed, I saw dad, Sydney and Keechee, surrounding mom's bed. Candace, Jace and Catalina stood near the blindside of the room. Everyone's eyes shot at me as I ran towards her bed.
"Mom? Mom it's me please wake up... Mom?" I whispered as tears started flowing from my eyes again.
"What happened to your forehead Olive?" Dad asked me.
"Nothing that concerns you," I spoke without looking at him.
"Please Mom wake up..." I mumbled.
"Olive she's...-" Dad placed his hand on my shoulder.
I moved his hand away from me. "Don't," I told him.
He again reached out to me but I moved back. "I said don't," I nearly shouted. "This is all your fault..." I started.
"Olive," Keechee said but I cut her.
"No Keechee. Don't stop me today, you know as well as i do that this is all his fault. If he didn't leave mom for her," I said looking at Sydney. "Then none of this would've happened," I said.
"Olive please..." dad said.
"Why please? Now you can't even face what you did?" I stated looking at dad whose eyes were glued to the ground.
"I agree that this is my fault but not all of it. She also wanted the divorce as much as I did," dad said as he looked at me.
"Oh please spare me all these stories. She signed the papers because she wanted you to be happy. She even agreed to give you my custody but-" I started but then realized that mom promised me not to tell dad anything about this and stopped talking.
"Olive I am sorry," he spoke softly.
"Your sorry won't bring her back, will it? Don't apologize, just go and have your happily ever after with your new family. I don't need you," I spoke harshly.
I looked back at him and his eyes were teary. "Let's go and take the body keechee," I said. Just as both of us were going to leave, dad held on to my hand.
"Olive please don't leave me," dad said.
"It won't be hard for you dad. You already left me once, how hard will it be the second time?" I spoke harshly as I pulled my hand back to me.
"Please come with me," dad said.
"And leave Keechee? Oh please, I am not doing that," I said as I turned to him.
"Mom just asked you to drop her to a hall and you couldn't even do that. How will you take care of me and my needs?" I said as I left the room.
I sat down on a bench outside and waited for Keechee near the elevator. I wiped away the tears but they didn't seem to stop flowing. "Stop," I shouted.
"Excuse me?" The dude from earlier said.
I looked up and saw him with few equipments. "I'm sorry I didn't mean that for you," I said as I covered my face with my palms again.
"Having a rough day?" He asked as he sat down in the bench next to me.
I wiped off all my tears and looked up. "Kind of."
"Well let's see what I can do to make it better," he said.
I looked at him and he smiled. "Want to watch a surgery?" He asked.
"I really can't at the moment and they won't let me in anyways," I said.
"Well that's one of many perks of being the chief of surgery," he winked.
"Chief of surgery?" I wandered. "Wait are you Armaan Kapoor?" I asked.
He nodded. "I wonder how a beautiful lady like you knows me," he said.
"My friends actually continued Med School and told me that you were the new chief of surgery. By the way I'm-" I started.
"Olive Montgomery? I know," he spoke and I was shocked.
"-how do you know?" I asked.
"Cambridge University, same year of graduation," he spoke.
"The nerd Armaan," I said.
"Haha yes. You were my only competition but when I heard that you quit, I was just shocked. Never knew a girl like you would ever quit Surgery," he stated.
"Many times you don't have another option," I spoke as I spaced out and started thinking about how mom wanted me to become a Surgeon just like her.
"At least you graduated with the degree. If you wanted to continue being a doctor, this hospital will welcome you Olive," he said as I looked at him.
"Thank you Armaan but I don't think I'm up for residency," I said.
"You would've made the perfect Cardio Surgeon," he smiled.
I smiled back knowingly. "What about you? Did you continue with Ortho?" I asked.
"You bet," he smiled.
I looked up and saw Keechee coming towards me. I stood up and so did armaan. "I kinda have to go now," I said.
"Well I hope to see you," he said with hesitation.
"Do you have something to say?" I asked him.
He nodded yes but answered no. "You are very funny armaan. I hope to see you again," I said as I left with Keechee.
