Chapter 38- Fairytales Aren't Real

Accidentally Met Mr. Billionaire ✔️ [Under Editing]

Chase's POV

"Come on," I growled and threw the tie on my bed and picked up another one.

I tried to tie the tie but I kept failing. I wasn't focusing on the tie. My mind was wandering completely on tonight's dinner.

It's a 'must bring a date' dinner and Rhea will probably bring Olive because Sameer is working.

It has been months since I last saw Olive. More like since we talked. I remember seeing her in grocery stores so many times with this guy. It's the same guy every time.

I don't even know why I am thinking about her. I never knew that she would ever do this.

When I met her, I knew she was going to be the one for me. Even though I was sleeping around, I always dreamt about having that one girl.

She was that girl.

Now, my theories about fairytales are fading away into darkness. The darkness that she created. She sucked me into this portal and there is no way for me to go back.

I miss my old self. Who didn't care about anyone or anything. Who used girls to get what he wanted.

Tonight, I will be him again. Tonight, I will get out of this darkness. Tonight, I won't miss Olive nor think about her.

Finally I tied the tie properly and looked at myself for the last time before leaving.

___

My eyes kept wandering towards the door as I kept taking a sip from my drink.

"Are your eyes looking for me?" Suddenly a girl came next to me and said.

I turned to face her and it was Amanda. I sighed deeply and looked away. Her hands reached my shoulder blades and she smiled at me.

She came closer but I pulled away from her. "Amanda what are you doing?"

"You look like you might need some company," she replied, grabbing my neck and pulling me closer to her.

I pushed her away. "Stop."

"What the fuck Chase? Look, both of us had a bad breakup so can we just get on with it. I have a room booked upstairs," she said and I just thought about it.

If I want to be the old Chase, there's no better way than Amanda to make it up. As I walked towards her to agree, Jeremy walked to me and stopped me.

"I'm sorry but I need him for something," he told Amanda and she just left.

"What are you getting yourself into Chase?" Jeremy exclaimed and we sat down at the bar. "You're a mess."

"Leave me alone Jeremy. I don't want you lecturing me either," I exclaimed.

"You are turning into the old Chase. Lost, miserable and a hot mess. It's not too late to get her back," he slowly spoke.

"There is no getting her back Jeremy. I am completely fine without her," I spoke and looked at the door when Rhea just walked in.

I looked around but it was just Rhea. No one was with her. "Well, have fun alone because my date is here."

Jeremy walked to Rhea and they both started talking and smiling. I turned around and chugged down my drink.

Wow.

"So, she is actually not gonna come?" I mumbled to myself.

"You did crush her pride and broke her heart," Rhea replied as they both made their way to me.

"I broke her heart?" I exclaimed and she nodded. "She broke my trust."

"Chase, Richard planned everything. That night, it was her birthday and she was suppose to get married on the same day years back, with Richard. So, she wanted some space and that's why Sameer and I left the house."

"But that bastard visited her while we were gone and treated her badly."

Suddenly I heard a totally different version of this story. The whole time, what I thought was wrong. I was wrong. So wrong.

Rhea told me the whole story of how it all happened. How Richard did this just to get back at her for leaving him at the aisle.

I can't believe I blamed Olive for something she didn't do.

This is why she wanted to talk to me but I pushed her away. I behaved really bad with her. I broke her heart. I told her I never wanted to see her and I haven't seen her in months.

It had been almost five months since I last saw her. She was the perfect girl but I pushed her away because I didn't want to be broken hearted.

Just then everything started to make sense. That time when she came to the office to meet me, I behaved badly towards her.

She just wanted to explain herself but i became an egotistical jerk and called her floozy.

What was I thinking?

"When you left, she was broken. She completely fell apart. This is why she never let anyone close to her because they always break her heart," Rhea finally said and I couldn't open my eyes because every time I did, I could see Olive crying.

"Oh god," I whispered to myself and Rhea patted my back.

"I don't think it's too late to get her back Chase, it never is. Go get her," Rhea half cheered and made me realize my mistake.

"Thank you Rhea," I quickly pulled her into a hug and smiled.

Quickly, grabbing my stuff I almost left but then turned around to face Rhea. "How is engaged life going?"

"Great. Now don't waste your time here, go get her," she said and I left the dinner hall.

I was going to get Olive back.

I know I had been a bad boyfriend but she taught me that there is more to life than meaningless sex.

I love her.

Wow. I can't believe that I would ever feel this but I do. She is the one for me. She understands me. She accepts me for who I am and who I used to be.

I love her.

Just as I reached her hospital, I quickly made my way to the operation room where she was standing, wearing scrubs. She looked so hot.

I was about to open the door but then a guy pulled her in a hug. She hugged him back and took her gloves out.

When I saw her again, there was a smile on her face.

A genuine smile.

A smile that I could never give her. She was happy.

I stepped away from the door and turned around. Maybe she has moved on. Maybe she doesn't need me anymore.

Heartbroken, I walked out of the hospital.

Here's a Chase POV as promised. It's actually weird writing in a guy's point of view. But I think it turned out fine.

It's makes me sad writing about Chase and Olive when they aren't together. I hate to write when they are heartbroken and sad.

But, this is not the ending.
