Chapter 40- Do Dreams Come True?

"Olive?" I heard someone's voice which was familiar.

"Olive, wake up," Rhea almost shouted and I fell off the couch.

"Huh, What?" I asked and looked around.

Sameer and Jeremy were sitting on the couch next to mines. Rhea sat down next to me and looked at me.

"What happened?" She asked. "Are you okay?"

"Y-Yeah," I replied.

"You were crying in your sleep. Was it a bad dream?" She asked and I thought of everything that happened in my dream.

It was a dream?

Chase didn't actually showed up at my door and apologized. We didn't make up and I didn't forgive him.

Why did I forgive him so easily? I would never.

He means nothing to me anymore. Wait, so Rhea didn't tell Chase about Richard and I? Or did she?

I am so confused.

"Rhea?" I asked and she looked back at me.

"Was Chase here?"

"He better not be or else I'll smack the shit out of him. How dare he not come and apologize to you after everything Jeremy and I told him," Rhea exclaimed and she seemed angry.

Oh, so he does know.

I wonder why he didn't apologize to me. Not that I would forgive him that easily anyways.

"Whatever, I'll go to bed," I said and stood up to leave. "Good Night Guys."

"Good Night," Rhea, Sameer and Jeremy said in unison.

"Good Morning sunshine," Nate said as he slid towards Rose' locker.

"Go away Nate," rose told him and closed the locker quickly.

"What happened?" Liz asked as all of us wore our coat and took stethoscopes.

"Why don't you ask Nate," Rose faked a smile and Nate looked down in disappointment.

"I'm sorry okay? I don't know how relationship works. That's why I'm telling you to stay with me and teach me. You make it all sound right Rose. I'm sorry," Nate apologized to Rose and I saw a tear dropped down her cheek.

"You can't go sleeping around with the nurses Nate," rose exclaimed.

"I'll make a note of that. Now, can you forgive me?" He asked, sincerely.

"Of course I can," rose nodded in response and jumped on him as they kissed.

"Get a room," Liz groaned and we walked outside to the receptionist together.

"Any new cases?" I asked her and she nodded and handed me a thick file.

I opened the file and was shocked. I quickly ran to the room 1005 and looked at the guy who apparently had a huge tumor in his spinal cord.

"Dibs on this one," I whispered and smiled at Liz who rolled her eyes at me.

"Whatever," Liz mumbled.

"Whatever your intern-ass," I chuckled. "Don't worry, you'll be a resident in couple of months."

"Can I assist you then?" Liz asked and I smiled.

"Actually I was given my own interns and I have to let them assist me. Sorry Liz," I apologized.

"Aww man," she said but then smiled. "Actually its all cool. Who are your interns though?"

"I don't know yet but they are definitely not punctual. I paged them five minutes ago for rounds," I said and then I saw couple of interns running towards where Liz and I were standing.

"I'm sorry Dr. Montgomery, we're sorry," one of them spoke and I cut them.

"I don't care about your apologies. So, take it and shove it right down your asses. Whenever I page you, you better show up or you will be sent down to the pit," I said, sternly and Liz winked at me before leaving.

"It won't happen again," another one spoke.

"It better not or I'll take you off my service for a whole week where all you will do is rectal exams. Understood?" I asked and they all nodded.

"Alright, now follow me," I said and we left to the seventh floor where Dr. Vernon was.

"Morning Dr. Vernon," I said and she turned around to face me.

"Morning Montgomery," she replied and started walking and I followed her while the interns stood there, talking to each other.

"When we move, you move," I said and they all hurried behind us.

"Here's the file," I said and gave Dr. Vernon the file containing the patient's history and diseases.

"Damn," she said as she pulled out an X-ray.

"Yup," I replied and she smiled.

"I have never seen a tumor this big," she exclaimed. "Thank you Montgomery for bringing it."

I nodded and we walked in the room where Mr. Berlin was laying down on the bed.

"I have never seen a tumor this huge," I exclaimed.

"Are you exaggerating or is the tumor actually that big?" Nate asked as he wrapped his arms around Rose and took a sip of her coffee.

"She's serious," Liz replied for me and I smiled at them.

"We haven't even had a chance to see the inside of an OR and you're going to assist?" Aaron exclaimed and I nodded.

"I'm just happy I could actually assist instead of doing scut work, running labs, talking to the relatives after the death of someone, along insurance companies and doing rectal exams."

"I hate intern life," Liz complained and other nodded.

Suddenly my eyes caught the interns that work for me. "Yo, guys," I said to Liz and others. "Those right there are my interns. I'm sure they hate me because I made each and every one of them so rectal exams today but they are actually good at what they do."

"You're luck that Vernon isn't your resident anymore. She's getting meaner and meaner everyday," Rose said as she munched on her potato chips.

"I'm actually working with her on this tumor case. She's a fifth year resident so she can do surgeries by herself and there's no better way t assist on a surgery this big. It'll be epic."

"I'm so jealous of you right now," Nick said and we all chuckled.

"So, did he apologize?" Rhea asked.

"He did in my dream," I replied and she laughed.

"Is that why you were crying?" She asked and I nodded. "Aww poor baby. I wish I could beat his ass to the ground but he is my boss after all. By the way, I miss you so much at the office."

"It's alright and I miss you too. I have been working long hours and I don't get enough sleep so I daydream that you and I go out shopping together," I replied and we chuckled.

"That dream will soon come true," Rhea replied. "Morning dreams always come true."

So, Chase will actually apologize to me? Do dreams come true?'

Don't kill me guys because it was just a dream. I would never let Olive forgive Chase this easily. He didn't believe her when she was telling the truth.

Also, I hope you liked this chapter. Also just to make everything clear, Rhea and Jeremy did tell Chase that Olive was innocent and Chase did visit the hospital. But, when Olive was laying down on the couch, she fell asleep.

Finally, chapter 40! I remember thinking that this book will have at least 40 chapters. There are so many unsolved issues so this isn't the end nor will be the next chapter.

I'm sorry to keep you guys waiting for this long to update but school isn't easy. I'm a senior and have to apply to colleges and waiting to get accepted. It's a lot of stress but wattpad makes it all go away just for a little while.
