You're my humanity ; Hope Mikaelson ✔︎

—Narrator's perspective—

"Well, you can't simply blame Alyssa. Blame Alaric. He's the one who won't place us in the same room." Arabella snorted, flipping through her textbook which she was forced to read for a quiz this week.

She just heard from Hope that she found her roommate in her bed making out with Jed. The thought honestly made Arabella laugh but also upset that she's not roomed with Hope anymore because of Ric who didn't think it was appropriate.

"I blame both." Hope mumbled against her hands, her stomach facing the mattress while a bunch of books was piled up in front of her. "I'm staying here tonight. It will atleast give me the decency to sleep without having to worry about my roommate having sex besides my bed."

"You're always welcome here. Thank god Ric didn't give me someone to room here." She sighed out, flipping a page and didn't notice Hope looking at her from behind it.

"Yup. Thank god." Hope muttered before taking the book from out of Arabella's hands and crashing their lips together.

Arabella didn't complain and held her waist firmly while they continued to make out for some more accountable minutes. While they were doing that, Hope kicked off a few books from their bed to the ground.

☘︎︎

"Okay, that was a little hard." Landon grunted in complaints, not having the agility to block every attack that was thrown to him by Hope who was merciless. When Hope flipped him over using the stick, Landon winced. "Okay, um, to be clear, when I asked Arabella for training, I sort of meant for beginners."

Arabella chuckled on her spot, leaning on the ledge the entire time while she watched the two spar, mostly Hope who knew what she was doing.

"Sorry, It's just, Alyssa Chang has me all worked up." Hope said, pulling back the Phoenix up to his feet. "That girl has no boundaries. She takes all of my stuff and every day she has a new scented candle. One of which that smelled like Bacon. I think she's trying to gas light me. She also tried to flirt with Bella which I Accidentally destroyed her bed."

"Yeah, bullies'll do that. Trust me, I pretty much have a PhD on the subject." Landon snickered, looking to Arabella who gave him an amused look by Hope's outburst.

"She makes me long for the days when I could toss a monster into the Malivore pit." She sighed out, holding to the stick while they two conversed.

"Well, I know this might not sound like the most action-packed advice, but, um... maybe just try talking to her. Bullies hate being confronted." He suggested in which Hope felt grateful yet still mad, she thanked him. "Great. How about some more sparring first? Maybe some judo or kenpo? Aikido?"

Hope stopped him. "Why don't we start with a basic jab? Have you walking instead of running head first into danger." She suggested.

"You kids have fun. I'll sleep in before a witch burns my hair off for Coven day." Arabella sighed out, pushing herself off the ledge and was about to walk away but Hope stopped her, pecked her lips.

"I'll see you later?" She hummed, not wanting to let her leave but still, she was in no position to let her stay. Arabella nodded with a simple smile before walking away.

☘︎︎

"Hey, your girlfriend is on a warpath." Landon sighed out, walking alongside with Arabella who frowned at him in question.

"What do you mean? We just saw her this morning." She said and the Kirby pointed from the Lounge where Hope just stole a pair of shoes using her magic.

"It's probably about Alyssa. Let's go." She tilted her head to Hope's direction while they went ahead to her.

Landon was the one who spoke, making their presence known to the Tribrid. "Hey. How'd it go with Alyssa Chang? You guys bff's?" He asked, Hope turning around to meet both of them.

"Your advice was useless, Landon, Just like you." She said out of the blue and left. Arabella opened her mouth to call for her but she left already.

"What's gotten into her— Hope!" Arabella sighed, jogging to catch up to the Mikaelson who was still walking away. "Hey." She finally said when she grabbed her wrist, haulting them both.

"Just leave me alone and Let go of me." She brushed away the grip on her hand, looking at the girl who frowned at her behaviour. When Hope noticed it was her, she exhaled. "I have to get to the gym. Coven day, remember?" She simply said in a smile before turning her heel to leave again. "I'm serious. Leave me alone."

"Hope—" Arabella got cut off when the tribrid already left her alone. She gritted her teeth before turning to get to Landon and ask him for help.

☘︎︎

"Lost what? Landon's fashion sense? Sorry, I didn't mean that." Hope stumbled to the three, Landon, Arabella, Wade, who was trying to find their latest monster.

"You said my look was classic." Landon frowned, looking at the tribrid in a disappointing look.

"And you believed that?" Lizzie said besides her, not as shocked as she is for saying that. "Sorry... I think." She said unsure.

"We're looking for the Qareen." Wade announced and they all walked around the school, trying to find it. "It's a monster that makes everyone act like..."

"Both of you... I think." Arabella said, looking over to Lizzie and seemed unsure if it was even influencing her.

"It's invisible; only fairies can see it." Wade informed again, Arabella exhaling knowing what's to come after what he said.

Lizzie snorted. "Do you want to take this, or should I?" She asked Hope.

"It's too easy. Can't even get any pleasure out of it. Sorry." She quickly apologised feeling bad but Lizzie just laughed.

"Hey, focus. It's gaining strength by the minute. Once it's strong enough to manifest itself on, um, non-fairy plane... Anyway, we have to figure out a way to stop it." Landon finally said, looking back to the two witches.

"It is so much less impressive when you give the hero Speeches." Lizzie spat and Landon sighed quietly. "That was all me." She confessed in a cheery smile.

"Okay, what's the plan?"

☘︎︎

"No. Because you're doing the exact same thing that Landon is with his training: you're trying to fit in. It's delusional." Hope slapped the book on her hand as she regretted everything she just said. "I sh-shouldn't have said that."

"You do know the reason I'm training is to help you with this stuff?" Landon who was in front of Wade spoke up.

"If I need someone to die a lot, or be picked on, I know who to call." She said in a sarcastic tone, looking at the Phoenix.

"Hope." Arabella said, looking over her shoulder to make her stop talking. That was ofcourse useless seeing as Wade stood up and left.

Hope sighed in realisation of what she said. "Wade, I'm sorry. I didn't mean that— I didn't mean that." She shook her head and sat down besides the blonde who was flipping through pages of book.

"Actually, you did. The Qareen magnifies insecurities. It doesn't make them." He pointed out, again, Hope sighed in defeat.

Arabella could only hold her hand in comfort from under the table. Hope gave her a thankful look before their attention got diverted to Alyssa.

"Hey, book nerds. There's a monster on campus. It kind of looks like that pimple Hope had last week." She chuckled on the last bit. "Hey, Arabella." Alyssa said to the vampire who nodded, not even looking at her as she was reading a book.

"Are you sure it wasn't your own reflection?" Hope spat, not really knowing if it was the monster or if it was her, either way, she was satisfied when Alyssa looked pissed.

"Great. It's strong enough to be on our plane."

"Okay, well, we need to get you somewhere safe just in case. So you don't go get yourself kidnapped again." Hope said finally, Landon looking at her with a frown on his face. "I'm really not blaming the victim here." She said honestly.

"I actually don't think it's after me. Like, it actively avoided Wade and Me." He said in a suggested tone.

Hope looked at him. "Then what does it want?"

☘︎︎

"Oh hell— what happened?" Arabella asked, seeing Josie regain her consciousness back when Lizzie help her stand up.

"Monster." The Brunette Siphoner said, wincing from where she was.

"Uh, Emma put up a barrier spell, so the Qareen's stuck in here with us." Landon explained.

Josie glanced at the table, having her hand on her head. "It took the sandclock."

"The sandclock? Why?" Hope asked, frowning.

"It doesn't matter. We just need to get it back. We can take this thing out, okay? We are three badass witches, A 200 hundred year old vampire and one moderately competent bird." Lizzie said once her gaze landed on Landon who took it and nodded.

"Except if the Sandclock gets damaged, something really bad is gonna happen." Josie said, her sitting down just in case.

"We need to exploit a weakness to take it down fast. Except Landon's research into that was about as useful as his fighting skills." Hope finally said and her eyes widen of the words that just came out of her mouth. "Oh, my god, sorry." She said looking back to Landon.

"Or maybe my research was fine, but god forbid you use your brain instead of punching every problem."

Arabella scoffed. "So you're all infected. Lovely." She exhaled, leaning on the desk innocently.

"Join the club. Maybe the only one that'll have you. Sorry Monster." Lizzie excused but they all knew it wasn't it.

"Why am I being affected now? And why aren't you?" He pointed to the Vampire who merely shrugged, not knowing as well. "I wasn't before. Oh! Okay, I might have a plan."

"Are you sure it'll work and not fail pathetically the same as you?" Arabella said and her eyes widen. "Sorry! Damn it." She whispered and they all looked amused of her words.

"Well that hurt." He frowned.

When he told them what he's theory was, they all conducted a plan which included Lizzie to remark every sentence he said. But still, the girls gathered everyone they could and lead them to the main room.

As Landon and Wade finally arrived to the students chanting Wade's name, he looked around when the two descended from the stairs.

"Let loose the fairy." Hope remarked in a tight smile.

"You got this, Wade. Just know that everyone believes in you." Landon patted his shoulder in assurance.

A girl screamed from down the room and everyone stopped chanting Wade's name. They all gasp when their latest monster arrived. The supposed fairy was grunting but failed to do whatever he was about to.

"What's wrong?" Hope asked, concerned of what happened.

"This isn't giving me any powers. I don't think anyone really believes in me." He frowned, looking around the students.

"This is why we don't entrust plans to Muppet Babies." Lizzie groaned and looked at the two by the stairs. "I'm not sorry." She shrugged.

"I believe. And I'll prove it." Landon said before jumpinf head first into danger, again as usual. He slid towards the Qareen, dodging a punch and jabbed it in the stomach which was no use.

He got thrown to the table behind him, "What the hell are you doing?" Hope questioned and if it wasn't for Arabella who held her back, she would've just killed the Qareen herself.

"Trusting in wade!" He shouted as an answer and stood up from the table when she punched to monster. When Hope was about to help, Josie stopped her.

"Wait, we can't break the sandclock." She said and they could only look at Landon getting beat.

When Landon got his neck snapped, Arabella used her speed but got haulted as the Qareen held her by her neck. "She will never love you." He taunted to Arabella.

"Oh— shut it." She croaked out in a glare before having her neck snapped again, dropping to the opposite side of where Landon laid. Everyone gasped when they saw them drop dead... well, not really.

Hope wanted to get to her, "Bella!" She tried to run to the unconscious Vampire. Seeing her get killed was literally her worst nightmare and even though she will always come back to life, she couldn't control the heartbreak and fear of losing her.

"Hope, stay calm." Lizzie said, holding her shoulder.

☘︎︎

Arabella fluttered her eyes open, wincing when she moved her neck in stiffness of it. "That didn't bode well." She mumbled before looking around the room with only one eye open.

"Yes it didn't." Hope slapped her chest making her groan and close her eyes.

"Hope, I am still a vampire. I can't die as easily on a neck snap." She pointed out the obvious which only lead Hope to sigh with her eyes closed. "Hey. I'm okay." She said more seriously, holding both of Hope's hands.

"It just... it's painful to watch you get killed— even if it's just temporary." She confessed truthfully, making Arabella look at her with a sympathetic look. "With you, wanting to protect me when both of us know that I can protect myself—"

"—Ofcourse I know that, Hope. With everything that has been going on, How can I not be worried?" She questioned in a frown.

Hope sighed. "Earlier, I meant what I said. About, leaving me alone." She said and Arabella looked at her nervously. "I love you, Bella. I really do."

"Then what is it, Hope?" She asked, feeling Hope's hands slip away from her grip, her soft look faltering by the action.

"I think—"

"—No. Just say it." She finally said, a rush of fear implanted inside her chest.

"We need some time apart—"

Again, before Arabella could even argue with her in that sentence, Hope disappeared in front of her. She frowned, standing up and looked around the room, the designs of it was very familiar to her.

"What the hell..." She whispered, rushing outside the room, the hallways and everything seemed to be like what it was a couple of years ago. Arabella listened around the house, hearing Lizzie's voice in the Lounge.

She sped her way down there, looking remotely confused as all of them. "Where the hell are we?" She asked Alaric but both knew very well where.

"We're in a prison world." He said, mostly to the twins who looked more out of the loop than both of them.

Arabella exhaled, angry. Now she has to go and face a heretic who killed Alaric's wife. She looked around the room, calming down as she got familiarise with everything inside the room.

"I thought you said the world would be identical." Josie said.

"That's because it's not the one you made today." Arabella growled in anger, pushing herself not to destroy everything inside the room.

"It's the one you made when you were kids." He explained more, seemingly calm after everyone that he banished in this world.

"Why are we here?" One of the Siphoners asked, skeptic and afraid.

"I'm guessing Alyssa Chang wants to teach me a lesson." He exhaled out, looking to Arabella who gave him a disapproval look.

She always knew what happened. She even tried to convince Alaric that it wasn't a right call but he did it anyways. Lizzie asked on what.

"The miseducation of young minds." Sebastian answered for Alaric, appearing from the archway. Arabella frowned at him, not knowing that he got sent here as well. "Hello, Elizabeth. Bella-Luna. Judging by your face, you didn't know I was here." He mainly said to the Blonde who shook her head in sorry. "Fancy meeting you here."

They all looked at Alaric, being the only one who didn't looked surprised.
