You're my humanity ; Hope Mikaelson ✔︎

—Narrator's perspective—

"From what I understand, You and Dr. Saltzman go way back since he first came into town." Emma stated, looking over the Vampire who nodded.

"I was friends with the Salvatore brothers, Elena, Jeremy and basically all." She informed, her hands were together on her lap.

Alaric has yet again to force his friend on going on counselling with Emma. Arabella was resistant of the idea but had no choice seeing as... well, it was Ric.

"And before you met them, You were with another group of Vampires. The original family." She said and just by the name, it made Arabella sigh and nodding. "Can you tell me the times you would be with them before meeting the Salvatore brothers?"

"What's there to say, exactly?" She clicked her tongue, looking out the window. "They turned me when I was 17, dealing with what I've done to my parents."

Emma studied every feature and reaction the girl did. "What did you do to your parents?"

"I killed them." She informed like it was nothing. Arabella expected a reaction from the witch but she held her ground unfazed. "It's not like they didn't deserve it anyways. They were terrible mother and father figure."

"Can you ellaborate, Arabella?"

The Vampire nodded, "I came from a coven that was called necare which means to kill. They rely on dark magic and spiritual sacrifices for them to take such as many innocent lives." She started, vividly remembering many screams of people begging for the witches to stop. "I was always treated differently than the kids in my coven. My eyes were rendered special to them." She gestured at the purple eyes.

Emma nodded, "What does it mean then? I've read of the necare coven, the coven ended when a massacre occured and ended the lifeline of its people."

"Basically it meant that I was a freak. A girl with advanced magic than them so they didn't provide for me the type of learning like the other kids. They thought I was too powerful and my powers could actually kill them." Arabella looked out again on the window, sun was shining brightly. "Then I met Marcel. A boy who was my age and charming, not exactly knowing that he's a vampire."

"So you first meet Marcel Gerard? Was he the one who turned you?"

Arabella nodded again. "He slipped his blood in my wine the day I died when we were talking. He thought I was human and honestly, Elijah thought so too. I was suppose to be the one he turns first because he just became a vampire then." She stopped for a second, shaking her head and continued. "That night, I found myself in my room, a knife on my hand and the next thing I knew, I slit my own throat." She whispered, clenching her fist tightly. "I overheard my parents saying they will sacrifice my life to take my power for them to channel. The irony when they found me dead on my bed was hilarious."

Emma squinted her eyes once she took all that information in. Before she could talk, the door knocked and revealed Alaric with a duffel bag's trap over his shoulder.

"Sorry to interrupt but I'm going to have to steal Arabella from you, Emma." He said and the witch simply nodded his way.

"We will continue where we left off tomorrow morning. This was an excellent first session, Arabella." Emma stood up and so did the girl who sent her a nod before following Alaric's direction.

Arabella sighed out once they exited Emma's office. "I seriously can't believe you convinced me to go to Therapy, Ric."

"Counselling and It's Dr. Saltzman for you." He warned when they walked past dozens of students wearing their jerseys to attend or participate the big game today. "You, me, Hope will scavenge the depths of the earth just to find Landon."

"Yes captain." She said sarcastically once they walked outside the school, only to find Rafael and Hope in a very heated fight in front of Alaric's jeep.

Arabella sighed and crossed her arms, witnessing a very fight happening in front of her. Alaric also seemed frustrated of this but paid no attention.

"He can come." Alaric spoke, walking towards them with a very handy Vampire besides her who wanted nothing more than to sleep all of this off.

"What?" Hope asked in annoyance. Arabella was already inside the car, at the front seat while she propper her head on the window.

"He knows Landon. He can be an asset. We need all the help we can get so fix the car and hop in." He instruced which lead to Hope not saying another word when she's clearly pissed and just got inside the backseat.

After Rafael put back whatever he broke under the car and actually put on a shirt, he got inside in a sigh and was behind the Arabella who looked tired. Mostly frustrated from her talk with Emma.

When Alaric started the engine, he drove away from the school and his only focus was to get to the highway where the bus was.

"I saw you getting inside the counselor's office this morning." Rafael started a conversation, the statement directed to Arabella who spared her a look before looking back at the road.

"What, you're stalking me now?" She questioned, still bored. Hope frowned at the revelation which yearned for her to listen more about it.

"Everybody saw. Words spread quickly around the school." He explained. "You're new here like me so why did you get a front row seat to the counselor?"

Arabella heaved out a frustrated sigh after she looked at Ric who was looking at her knowingly. "It's called mind your business, Raf." She waved off, dismissing the topic very quickly.

"Arabella, Can you tell me why you turned? Defusing the tension less." Hope asked, looking at the girl who spared her a look from the rear view mirror.

"Ms. Forbes-Salvatore found me in a hospital bed. Sick and dying. Pitied me, fed me her blood and I woke up with an appetite as a goal." She explained quickly, almost seemed true to everyone in the car except Hope who wasn't buying it.

"Caroline was kind enough to bring her here from across Europe. She was alone when she found Arabella in the hospital." Alaric butted in the converstion, helping the girl besides her to lie more smoothly.

Hope frowned at the two skeptic and all. "How about your family? Parents that would mark you missing?"

"They're dead so I don't think goodbyes from the united kingdom is needed." Arabella shrugged, didn't notice the awkward silence she made when she mentioned her parents is dead.

Alaric coughed awkwardly and shook his head, continued to drive through the deserted road, halfway through the drive. To take it short, Teh drive was insanely deafening silence but neither of them wanted to break it since it was too tense.

The headmaster among them sighed in relief once they reached the bus where many were dead because a fire broke our from inside it.  They walked out the woods with Arabella besides Ric.

"I don't know why he's still out here. He has a whole day's lead on us. He could be anywhere." Hope complained while she walked over a branch and stepped into piles of leaves.

"Maybe because he doesn't have a reason to run." Rafael remarked.

Arabella merely stayed out of it, something was telling to to step in or even back Hope up because all evidence and clue leads to Landon. Or maybe it was instinct for her to feel the need to help Hope? Whatever it was, she hated the feeling.

When a twig snapped from aclose, Alaric hushed them and they all stopped. "You hear that?" He asked and a footstep was heard. "Someone's here."

"Here." Arabella cocked her head besides her when she heard breathing from the direction. Alaric was the first to run up to it and followed the rest where they saw a woman looking confused and probably in shock.

"I-it's okay. I-I'm not gonna hurt you." Ric raised his hand above his waist to show he isn't. He stepped closer but the woman stepped back. "Were you on the bus? Can you tell us what happened?" He questioned.

"Is she a survivor?" Hope asked in disbelief.

Rafael nodded, "Smells like it. She reeks of smoke." He concluded.

"That's definitely not concerning." Arabella spoke when the woman was looking around her surroundings like a lost child. Hope elbowed her on the hip to shut up as it was insensitive of her to say that.

"I think she's in shock. Look, I need to get her to the police so she can get medical attention. Why don't you three go ahead." He looked at Arabella, giving her a warning look to look out for the two. "Don't engage. We don't know how dangerous Landon is."

Rafael scoffed, "He's not dangerous—" Before he could even start defending his brother's honor, Alaric quickly cut him off.

"—I said don't engage." He said finally. Hope gestured for them to go. "Keep a close eye on them will you?" He said directly to Arabella who nodded and told him be careful.

Soon enough, Arabella found herself in the middle of a feud by a lethal tribrid and a werewolf with anger issues who can't keep his thoughts to himself.

"What exactly happened in that bus?" The werewolf asked finally.

"No one knows. It's like something incinerated it from the inside." Hope explained, looking down so she wouldn't accidentally slip up and fall.

"Look, whatever he did, I know there's a good explanation. He's the most loyal friend I've ever had. He was there for me on the worst day of my life. After my girlfriend died, he's the only thing that kept me going." He looked over the auburn haired girl seriously. "So let me get that knife back for you and then we both can hear him out, okay?"

Hope clicked her tongue. "Appreciate the passion, but maybe you should exert some of it making new friends." The three stopped walking when the boy finally snapped.

"So I can be as popular and well-liked as you?" He sneered.

Arabella lets out a forced chuckle. "ha okay..." She trailed off knowing this will happen sooner than she expected.

"Yeah, I've been at the school for two days and I've already heard all about Hope Mikaelson and her sunny disposition." He finished the assault which made Hope look at him with a furious yet blank expression. "I'll get you the stupid, not-stupid knife and the answers you want. I promise."

"And why should I believe you?" When Hope was having her talk with Rafael, Arabella heard heartbeat coming from a shack near them.

She didn't know she was already walking closer to it when she did to make sure what she heard was right. Which it was because now there is a person inside the basement with a possible killing spree.

"Root cellar. You two done, so we can investigate our homicidal and possible maniac killer?" Arabella turned her heels to look at the two who was looking at her only with confused looks.

Rafael glared at her, "He's not a killer."

"You have three minutes to do this your way." Hope said ignoring what he said and knowing that Landon was in the cellar.

"Wait, the headmaster said don't engage." He argued in a confused sense.

"Two minute, 59. Two minute 58." Hope counted down and it was enough for Rafael to speed to the cellar and leave the two alone.

Arabella chuckled, looking over at Hope. "You really are out to get him as expected." She pointed out to Hope who shrugged.

"I hate liars. Especially those who lies to me directly." She pointed out making Arabella nod quietly in understanding. Soon enough, Hope grew impatient and walked to the cellar.

"Yeah expected that too." Ara sighed out and walked down the stairs, hearing Landon's familiar voice and Rafael's talk.

"Then who was it?" Hope asked in a monologue villain-y type of way. It was then they conclude Hope can lie too.
