Chapter 12 (Castles)
The Prince's Prince (BoyXBoy)
The castle above is what I kind of pictured the castle to look like in the story. I did give it a little bit more of my own twist but this is the best I can do, (also, I'm really bad at descriptions so I put this here as a sort of help factor.)
When writing a story, does anyone have a place where they keep notes that they want to use the story for? Like a place to keep down all of your ideas? 'Cause I have one and I think it is pretty lame but its nice to know where I'm going. xD Â Anyway. I've decided that since this is my last day of freedom, (my break is up and I have school tomorrow), that I would give you guys another chapter, so you won't feel sad when I don't write as much anymore. So, without further ado, enjoy the story!
Jack (POV)
"Jacan! I thought I told you to have yourself ready by five!" My mother shouted from her place in the fucking shower. I sighed and rolled my eyes. My father had apparently told my mother that I was still sitting on the couch and reading my latest book. Though, how does she expect me to get ready if she won't ever let me finish the book? I was reading, 'The Road' by Cormac McCarthy and have decided to call 'The Man' Billy, and 'The Boy', Carl. I was at the part where Billy was sick and it seemed like he was going to die. The book only had like 5 pages left and I just want to finish it!
As the ending of Billy was near, the book was ripped out of my hands with a soft giggle. "Hey!" I shouted, watching Jessy giggle again as she ran off with it. I was soon on my feet and after her too, a murderous thought in my head. We were around the house, she giggling and me cursing her. It was harder to catch her because she could fit easily under the tale or crawl behind smaller spaces than I could at my height and weight. This went on for a few minutes before my father stepped out and gripped me around the waist, effectively picking me off the floor.
My sister and I were both panting as she mocked me from her spot on the couch, the book being bounced between her hands. I pounded against my father's arms as he dropped me. I scrambled to catch my footing as he rushed to Jessy and snatched the book from her. "I literally have like 2 pages dad! Come on!" He sighed and rolled his eyes before handing me the book. I stuck out my tongue at my sister as I flipped to my last page. True to my word, I had only two pages left and I read them in less than 5 minutes. When I was finished, I slammed the book shut and landed on my back. I groaned in agony at the ending; despite me anticipating the ending, it was still shocking. "My life is ruined." I muttered. I could practically here my father's eyes rolling as he lightly kicked me in the side.
"Well, then you won't have a problem getting dressed. Now hurry up." I moaned as he lightly kicked me again and went upstairs as my mother called for him. My sister was soon up afterwards as I groaned, this time in annoyance at having to go. I really didn't want to go, mostly because I knew Edward would be there and he would be with other women that he had to marry. Though, I had to go because my father was forced to go.
I groaned once more before making my way up the stairs.

"Alright! Is everyone ready?" my mother called in excitement at her place by the door. She was beautiful in her blue with white dots and shoulder sleeves dress. The dress rested just before he knees and she was wearing a pair of yellow flats that stood out with her dirty blond hair. Her hair was curled at the ends, (despite us not having a curling or flat iron), and she was wearing lipstick. She looked almost 10 years younger than when she was wearing jeans and a tee.
Then, my gaze turned to my little sister, who was also bouncing with excitement. She and mom looked similar in the blue dress with white dots. Though, Jessy had on a blue sash across her waist and had straps instead of sleeves. She also had on white shoes and her hair was half up, half down and clasped in the back with a butterfly pin.
"David!" My mother called out. My father soon came into view. He had on a light blue button-up shirt with a dark blue tie. He had a black suit jacket thrown over it to match his black dress pants. "Perfect!" my mother called before walking over to the door.
I sighed. I had put on a light grey button up shirt with a black tie. My tie was tucked into my vest and I was wearing grey slacks. According to my mother, she had seen someone wear this exact same out and even rolled up my sleeves to right before my elbows to match them. She said it gave me a "bad ass" look. While I didn't think so, it did help me cool down as I felt like I was sweating something fierce. Also, she said that my father wore this outfit when he was younger, (and they apparently had more money). We all walked out of the house and I locked it behind me. The solid 'click' of the door giving me chills as I realized that this was really happening.
With the way some people imagine our world, you would expect us to travel to the castle in a carriage, right? Wrong. Nope, we didn't have a carriage, or even a good car. We had an old, small, Toyota car that has been used before us and wasn't so bad except for the insides smelled like mold. Though, my father said it still ran perfectly good and that it had enough mileage that it would be around long enough for me to drive it where ever I went once he taught me. That thought scared me. Though, he was probably right, we hardly ever use it and we get most of our food from the farm, that doesn't mean I want it though.
We all piled into the car and my father started it up with minor difficulty. Then, we were off to a new adventure.

My father had to park at a local store about a 6 minutes' walk from the castle. Not that it mattered to any of us; my father was dreading the night, my mother and sister wouldn't stop talking, and I was too busy in my own world to know what was going on. I really didn't want to go, mostly because I was afraid of seeing Edward. I wanted to see him and I also didn't. What if I saw something there that I didn't want to see? What if Edward decided to kiss me? What if he didn't? What if I wanted to kiss him? Would he try to shove me away if I got close?
I didn't have time to ponder these things anymore as we reached the grey, stone castle walls. I was so lost in thought that the walk took little time for me. As we made it to the front entrance, I could feel everyone's mouths drop open at the sight of the castle. It was so beautiful and so full of color that it was shining. It was an off white color and had tons of windows everywhere for natural light in the front. There were two big columns placed on the sides of the building and the building was as long as 3 semi-trucks put together. It had a black roof with little windows popping from the top and a little fountain in the middle.
All the commoners were either in the square on the grass in the castle, (hardly anyone was on the concrete or near the door), or milling around outside the walls, as if they didn't have the right to come in. Mostly everyone was talking and I knew a huge majority of the people were afraid of what was going to happen. Hell, despite my mom's ecstatic attitude, she told me that she was afraid that the king was playing a sick joke on us and that they really wanted to murder everyone. I knew the feeling.
Our family walked closer to the fountain and we realized that it was about as tall as two people stacked atop each other and almost as long as a car. On closer inspection, I found out that they had little names carved into the surface of it. It didn't take long to find Alexios' name and to realize that this fountain was for the deceased kings, queens, princesses, and princes.
My mother turned to all of us and gave us anervous smile. "Ok, we just need to stay calm, alright? See? Everyone else ishere so we don't need to worry about anything bad happening." I don't know whoshe was trying more to convince, herself or everyone else. Though I didn't havetime to question it as we heard trumpets, announcing the start of the ceremony.
PLEASE READ:
So how does everyone like the story? I know this isn't very long and I may seem to be drawing out the punch line a little bit longer than necessary but I really want to get into the feeling. I also want to know, do you guys have a reference for who you want the POV to be next? I would really like to know because I am kind of between the Edward and Jack's parts and I want it to be good. If no one answers, then I will put down who I want.
Thank you so much for reading! (1443)
