Chapter 4 (Different Perspective)
The Prince's Prince (BoyXBoy)
Jack Davis (POV)
"Jack!" my mother called, "could you get me some eggs?" I swung my legs off the tree branch and closed the book I had been reading. Well, re-reading.
"Yes, ma!" I called out. I sighed and hopped off the tree. I glanced down at the book: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. I have always loved this story. I love reading all about Huck, Tom Sawyer, and Jim and all the adventures they go on. I also love that Huck doesn't have a lot of money but is still able to do go on all of his adventures. It makes me believe that I can have adventures too.
I sighed again and walked up to my porch. My home was your typical old home. It had a grey roof with three windows poking out at the top to each of the rooms. It had a bright red paneling and the door was white. The porch was old and run down but the swing on it was still wonderful and it was where I spent most of my days.
I threw down the book on the swing and made my way to the barn. Its red paneling older and more chipped than on the house but still beautiful. I swung the two doors open and was granted with a flurry of activity as the hens ran out. I grabbed some food from the basket and threw it on the ground before heading inside to collect the eggs.
"Hello Sammy," I mutter to a mother hen who was still resting on her eggs. I gave her a handful of seeds. "Give us two new chicks, alright?" I smiled as she pecked at her food. I next went over to the roosters who were to stay inside until the hens were done. "Your babies are fine, Robert." I told him as I threw in food to the rooster's cage. I then went back over to the hens' cage and grabbed another wooden basket. I picked up all the eggs the hens had previously dropped before heading to the house.
"Hey Jack," my papa said ruffling my hair as he went to take care of the animals.
"Hey pops," I called after him. I went inside and sighed at the warm home feeling. I walked into our white kitchen and placed the eggs next to my momma and leaned in to kiss her cheek.
"Breakfast should be ready in just a minute, dear." My ma cooed. I smiled at her and went to the living room.
"Jay!" my little sister Jessie called from her spot on the ground. Our beagle Sloppy, (since he was always messy), hopped up and danced around my legs.
"Jess!" I called back to my six year old sister. She ran to me and I picked her up, swinging her around in my arms as she giggled. I brushed her long brown hair out of her eyes and rubbed my nose against hers. It was scary how similar she looks to me. We both had the same blue/green eyes, brown hair, and freckles across our cheek bones. Though, I must say, she looks much cuter than I've ever have.
"What 'cha doing?" I asked bouncing her on my hip and walking further into the room.
"I and Sloppy was playing a game together!" She said.
"'Sloppy and I were'," I corrected her, "and what game?" Jess shrugged. Before I could say anything else, my mother called us to the table to eat. Jess squirmed in my arms and I set her down. She dashed off to the table along with Sloppy. After I washed my hands before, I too sat down and ate with the family.

"I'm heading out for a little bit ma!" I called out.
"Be back soon, ok? Its dark don't be out for long!" she called back and I nodded even though she couldn't see me. I stepped into the cool night air and took a deep breath. Today was one of the more busy days and I love to just walk around in the woods afterwards. I know it's dangerous to walk around by yourself in the woods but it was the only way to get me to calm down.
I heard a bark sound behind me and I smiled at Sloppy. "Not today, Slops." I muttered shutting the door on her. I ignored the grimy feel of my skin from today's activities as I spun on my heel. I would just have to quickly wash up later tonight.
I sighed in content and made my way to the woods. I patted the tree that I spent my morning in as my boots made contact with a twig. The snap cause a squirrel to scurry up a tree. A howl sounded through the forest and I smiled. I always knew there were coyotes and wolves in the forest and it made me smile to hear them. I wish I could be one, running around without a care. That would be the life.
My mind wandered off as I walked. I didn't know where I was going but judging by my feet's movements, I was headed to my rock. And yes, it was my rock. I have been going there since I was old enough to wander off on my own. I even carved my initials into the stone, claiming it. It was all mine until a small boy came and claimed it as his too. That night my life had changed. I finally felt like I had a friend! Edward was so much fun to be with and to play with when I was little. I didn't even care that every time I left for that long, my parents got mad at me.
My little 9 year old self didn't care that I had only met him twice in my life. I felt like Edward was the only one who knew me. So, on what would've been our 3rd time meeting and Edward didn't show up, I was devastated. I felt like my heart had been ripped out. I had waiting there the entire day and then I came back the next day and waited that whole day too. Then, on my third day, my pops found me. That was when I had broken. I cried to him and told him everything. He then took me home and we haven't talked about Edward or that night since.
I breathed in deeply and brushed my hand against the tree barks. I haven't seen Edward since I was 9 and I don't think that would change anytime soon. You want to know why? It's because Edward is the goddamn prince! I can't believe I hung out with the prince when I was nine! If it weren't for my father, I would have never known. So, I do now understand why I haven't seen Edward since and I don't really care. I just think -
"Stupid, so fucking stupid!" Jack froze as the voice rang throughout the air. What the hell? Jack followed the voice which was leading him to in the direction of his rock. He hesitated as he took his finally steps, as quiet as a mouse. He peaked over and spotted a man on his knees, yelling at the sky. His pale skin glinting in the moonlight and his black hair sparkling. Oh. Jack thought and gasped as he saw the man's deep green eyes.
His gasp caused the man to freeze. "I'm sorry." The man whispered, his voice so deep and husky that it made my stomach turn and flutter. I was breathless as I watched him stand with his hands to the sky. Was I... attracted to this man? I asked myself as I watched him swiftly place his jacket on his shoulders, the movement causing my insides to stir unfamiliarly.
"I'm sorry," he repeated, his voice more firm. "I didn't know this was someone else's place, I will leave," time stood still. What does he mean that he didn't know this was someone else's place? What was he doing here to begin with?
He took off after a beat, I don't want him to leave. I like the feel that his voice gives me and despite not even seeing his face, I felt like I had met him before.
"Wait!" I called out and froze.
What am I doing?
Edward (POV)
I froze at the sound of his cry. His deep voice wasn't too high nor was it too low and held a hint of arousal. It was beautiful. Though, I know I shouldn't stay here. If this person knew who I was, it would only cause rumors and this place would be filled with people. I wouldn't ever be allowed to come back here, and this was the only place I enjoyed anymore. But, I didn't move. The voice stirred something in my stomach and I didn't want to leave.
"I'm sorry," the voice whispered and I shivered at its intensity. What was he doing to me? "I usually come here to rest and I heard your voice. I -I didn't mean to intrude but you sounded in distress and I wanted to know if you were alright." He froze. Don't stop. "So, I came here when I should've given you privacy but my ma always says I'm nosy and I don't mean to be -" the person swore, "sorry, I'm blabbering on," I chuckled. He sounded so cute. It couldn't hurt to turn around... right?
I spun around and froze. This man is beautiful. His brown hair toppled over to the side and was so curly and I wanted to just run my hand through it. His blue eyes were wide as he too took in my sight. I glanced down a little further to his lips which were so pink and fluffy that I wanted to kiss them to see if they tasted like bubble gum or some other bullshit girls say when they see men with full pink lips. I looked down more to see him in just a light pair of jeans that had holes and a dirty t-shirt. He shoes looked worn and I couldn't help but say: "It's like 50 degree's out here why don't you have a jacket?"
He fell to his knees.
