Chapter 658 - Internship (2)
From Sidekick to Bigshot
Dr. Chu continued to scold Jian Yiling: âWhat now? Why are you not speaking? Are you mute? If youâre mute, you shouldnât be a doctor! A doctor must learn to communicate with their patients! People like you only know how to talk on paper! You only understand data and numbers! However, that wonât make you a good doctor!â
âYou should learn to speak and communicate with patients! If you canât learn that, then donât be a doctor! Just go home! Iâve mentored so many interns, however, Iâve never met one as bad as you! Youâre definitely the worst intern Iâve ever had!â
âWhy are you still standing there? Why donât you learn how to communicate with your peers?â Dr. Chu impatiently urged when he saw Jian Yiling standing still.
After Jian Yiling left, another doctor attempted to persuade Dr. Chu: âDr. Chu, sheâs still so young. Just show her a bit of mercy. Donât make her cry.â
âCrying? Who even sent her to this hospital? Theyâre honestly wasting my time,â Dr. Chu huffed. There was disgust in his voice as he said this.
Their hospital was a nationally renowned hospital. Furthermore, all the interns who came here were the top students among their medial cohort.
However, what was this intern even doing? She did not even communicate with the patient. Furthermore, she somehow had the confidence to say that the patient needed surgery immediately.
Upon hearing this, the other doctor said: âBut isnât she Jian Yiling? Sheâs a top student amongst the medical cohort. Furthermore, she skipped a grade in university. In addition, she also finished her undergraduate degree early. I had high expectations for her.â
Dr. Chu scoffed at these words: âDo you know what she did just now? She said that the child with gastroenteritis needed surgery! Surgery! Do you really think she can make that call? Sheâs only been studying medicine for a few years! How many patients has she even seen? Does she think that sheâs a professional doctor or something?â
Then, Dr. Chu snorted through his nose.
The other doctor in his department helplessly shook his head.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Ahh, Jian Yiling was not good at dealing with people.
As a student, she should ask if she didnât understand anything.
Furthermore, even if she had opinions, she should have gently suggested them to the doctor. She shouldnât have been so confident.
She was basically questioning the authority of the doctor that was mentoring her. No wonder Dr. Chu took her comments personally.
###
During their lunch break, one of the girls interning with Jian Yiling attempted to persuade her: âJian Yiling, why donât you apologize to Dr. Chu?â
âThank you. But Iâm fine,â Jian Yiling replied. Her voice was soft and calm.
Furthermore, the expression on her face really made it seem like she was actually fine.
Jian Yiling had a lot of things to do recently. She had to overlook the construction of Lahaisen Hospitalâs new branch. And thus, she did not have the extra time to get anxious and angry with a doctor that did not have much to do with her.
âBut if youâre like this, youâll have a hard time in the future,â the girl continued.
âItâs okay,â Jian Yiling replied. It was as though she was not very concerned with this.
âAhhh, I really donât know if itâs good or bad for you to be like this,â the girl said as she shook her head helplessly. Then, she turned away to concentrate on her own things.
She didnât know Jian Yiling well in the first place. And thus, she couldnât help her if the other person wasnât willing to listen to her.
