Halfway through the birthday banquet, Jian Yiling got up to go to the bathroom.

As Wen Ruo had been constantly watching Jian Yiling, she got up and followed Jian Yiling to the bathroom.

Inside the bathroom, Wen Ruo took the initiative to talk to Jian Yiling.

“Yiling.”

Jian Yiling was currently washing her hands. When she heard Wen Ruo call out her name, she did not respond.

“Yiling, it seems as though you have quite a good relationship with Elder Zhang. Would it be possible for you to ask him a favor? It’s an incredibly small favor. It’s just a matter of words for him.”

Jian Yiling glanced at Wen Ruo with an indifferent expression on her face. Then, she walked around Wen Ruo. It was as though she hadn’t heard what Wen Ruo said.

This made Wen Ruo incredibly embarrassed and angry.

She quickly walked in front of Jian Yiling and blocked her way.

“Jian Yiling, are you really blaming me for your identity being revealed to the public?” Wen Ruo asked. Her eyes began to turn red.

On the other hand, Jian Yiling was cold and calm. She did not answer Wen Ruo’s question.

Tears began to well in Wen Ruo’s eyes: “Jian Yiling, that’s being unfair to me. If you have so-called evidence, you can take it out. We can talk about it. However, you’re not even giving me a chance to defend myself. You’re just convinced about the matter already. Furthermore, even if you do have evidence, how can you be sure that it’s true? Someone could be framing me.”

Just as Wen Ruo finished speaking, two female bodyguards walked in. They were quick and agile.

The two of them were sent by Zhai Yunsheng’s uncle to protect Jian Yiling.

They would not interfere with Jian Yiling’s normal life. In fact, they kept their distance from Jian Yiling. They only came out when Jian Yiling needed help.

The two bodyguards picked up Wen Ruo and forcibly dragged her away.

When Jian Yiling walked away, the two female bodyguards let go of Wen Ruo.

Wen Ruo was stunned in place. She felt embarrassed and resentful.

What was her cousin doing!

She didn’t even reply to people! She relied on Master Sheng to be so arrogant!

Then, Wen Ruo returned to Zhu Zimo’s side.

“What happened?” Zhu Zimo eagerly asked Wen Ruo.

Wen Ruo’s expression was incredibly ugly. Her face was pale but her eyes were red.

“What’s wrong?” Zhu Zimo asked. He felt that things did not go well for Wen Ruo.

“Nothing much. She was just unwilling to help me. She humiliated me as well,” Wen Ruo replied.

“What? Isn’t that a bit too much?” Zhu Zimo asked. Anger could be heard in his voice.

Wen Ruo lowered her head and choked over her next few words: “I’m sorry. I couldn’t help you.”

“No no. It’s okay,” Zhu Zimo comforted. “I’m already happy that you’re willing to help me. You shouldn’t blame yourself too much.”

Then, Zhu Zimo glanced at Jian Yiling again.

After a pause, he said to Wen Ruo: “I feel like you should try and improve your relationship with Jian Yiling. After all, she’s your cousin. She’s still probably upset about what happened last time. Just forgive her and say more nice things to her next time you see her.”

Zhu Zimo felt that Wen Ruo was best to improve her relationship with Jian Yiling. After all, she could get many benefits out of that.

“But... She...”

“What about her?”

“Ahh, nothing much. I just feel like she won’t forgive me,” Wen Ruo replied. She did not tell Zhu Zimo about the details of what happened later.
