Chapter 953 - Hugs are Comfy

Zhai Yunsheng turned on his touchscreen laptop and used his finger to write on the screen.

After a while, Jian Yiling finally woke up. As she lay on her side, she noticed Zhai Yunsheng lying down beside her.

He was leaning against the bed. One of his legs was bent and the other was straight.

The screen of the laptop displayed a bunch of mathematical symbols, mathematical formulas, and a complex problem-solving process.

Although she woke up, Jian Yiling did not say anything. Instead, she quietly looked at Zhai Yunsheng.

After a few minutes, Zhai Yunsheng habitually glanced at Jian Yiling.

He quickly noticed that she had opened her eyes.

“Why didn’t you tell me that you’ve woken up?”

“Nice to look at,” Jian Yiling commented as she looked at Zhai Yunsheng.

“What’s nice to look at?”

“You.”

Upon hearing this, Zhai Yunsheng did not know whether to laugh or cry. He reached out and gently pinched Jian Yiling’s cheeks.

She had just woken up and yet, she was already teasing him.

Suddenly, Jian Yiling locked her arms around Zhai Yunsheng’s waist. Her face was buried into his chest.

This was ‘acting coquettishly’. Qin Yufan had taught her this.

“Why are you acting coquettishly?” Zhai Yunsheng asked. His voice was deep and low.

She was just laying in his arms. It was as though she was fully reliant on him…

“Hugs are comfy.”

Jian Yiling did not know the reason why she wanted a hug.

It was indeed… Comfy…

However, it was also rather… Difficult for him.

Was she not at all wary of him?

Zhai Yunsheng reached out to pat Jian Yiling’s head. As he did this, he asked: “Are you hungry?”

Jian Yiling climbed off Zhai Yunsheng’s body.

The moment she climbed off, Zhai Yunsheng was relieved yet frustrated and disappointed.

Then, he opened the thermal container on the desk. As everyone was unsure of when Jian Yiling would wake up, they decided to place the cooked food into the thermal container.

After Jian Yiling finished eating, Zhai Yunsheng handed a gift box to Jian Yiling.

“What is this?” Jian Yiling asked.

“A gift.”

“A gift?”

Upon hearing this, Jian Yiling opened the box. There was a pair of shoes inside. However, the shoes were quite… Special.

The sole of the shoes was made out of metal rivets.

If a person wore these shoes and stepped on someone else, a lot of pain would be inflicted.

Jian Yiling looked at Zhai Yunsheng. There was confusion in her eyes as she asked: “Did you make this?”

“Yeah. The sole of the shoe was made with Lahaisen Hospital’s 3d PRINTER. In addition, I borrowed welding equipment from Li Zhuojia.”

“Did you model this yourself?”

“Mhmm.”

“Why did you make this?”

“Well, next time you step on someone, you don’t have to worry about not using enough strength.”

“What do you mean by that…”

“Nothing. I guess I couldn’t stand not doing anything when you were in the operating room. Therefore, I just found some work to do. I will throw the shoes away later.”

“You’re not allowed to throw them away,” Jian Yiling said as she protected the pair of shoes with her arms.

“You made them. Therefore, I’m keeping them.”

Jian Yiling put the shoes back inside the box. After covering the box, she hid the box in a cupboard.
