Chapter 59- Unexpected Arrival

Notice Me, My Dearest!

A.N: *Hides behind a wall* Well, Hi, I'm not dead (yet)...More importantly, My country is in a big crisis right now. Students of all walks are fighting for their rights. Please pray for our victory. Thousands have been injured during protests, hundreds have been mercilessly murdered and shot to death, and even innocent toddlers weren't spared. The government needs to step down and compensate for all the lives they shed out of their selfishness.

Anyways. Keep us in your prayers. We're really in a dire situation right now. The whole country had 132 hours of the Internet block.

Don't forget to comment, I read all of them.

On Yeye’s first day at his new study place which was about two and a half an hour carriage ride from the imperial palace, Bai Yuan and Wang Yiheng personally dropped Yeye. Yeye looked reluctant but he promised his mother to be a good disciple to Mo Liangcheng.

At the entrance, there were institutional rules engraved on a huge stone tablet. Disciples had a specific light-coloured uniform to maintain the concept of equality inside the institute. The disciples gathered quickly at the time the carriage had stopped in front of the gate and said in unison,

“Greetings to the sun of the Empire, Our beloved Emperor Wang and his consort.”

Mo Liangcheng and other teachers stood in the front line to receive the Emperor with their utmost respect.

“May the heaven bless our Emperor and his family”

Yiheng stepped out and tried to help Yuan get down from the carriage. But Yuan easily got down with Yeye in his arms, and Yiheng’s goodwill was ignored publicly. Yeye was still in Bai Yuan’s arms when he noticed everyone was bowing to someone with scared expressions on their faces.

Some disciples gasped and some elders snorted. Many people didn't like Yuan, for no reason. They were just unhappy about Yuan being their beloved Emperor’s first and only consort.

Mo Liangcheng cleared his throat and stepped forward, “I feel happy to accept the crown prince as my youngest disciple. I thank the Emperor and the consort for honouring me with the opportunity.”

Bai Yuan gently put Yeye down to stand by himself, “The honour is mine. I hope that my baby can flourish under your care, Scholar Mo and also the other elders.”

Yeye stood firmly and politely bowed to his teachers, “ Wang Yifeng, the prince and son of the Emperor, greets the…um..greets teacher Mo…and…the elders. Please take care of….yeye..me!”

Mo Liangcheng chuckled and bowed briefly before patting his head, “You did well. Did you practise?”

There was a hint of pride as he glanced at Yuan, “Ma taught me and…helped me!”

Yuan crouched down to stroke Yeye’s face, “Very well done. I'll pray to the heavens that you keep shining like this.”

Yiheng could feel the warmth and love radiating from the duo before him. He slightly cleared his tone and stepped towards Mo Liangcheng, wrapping his arm around Bai Yuan’s shoulder, “Scholar  Mo, I believe you will take care of my son, don't make him study hard, okay? Let me know immediately if anyone tries to bother him. Understood?”

Mo Liangcheng smiled and bowed, “Yes, your majesty.”

Now it was time for Yeye to bid farewell to Bai Yuan. Yuan stood by the gate with Yiheng as he waved softly at Yeye, “All the very best, little bun.”

As Yeye was walking further with Mo Liangcheng holding his small hands gently, occasionally glancing back to make sure that his mother was still there, Bai Yuan felt his eyes become teary, “Aish, children grow up so fast…”

Yiheng felt a little guilty but he finally had his opportunity to have Yuan all to himself. Little did he know that all sorts of casualties would suddenly start to fall on him. Yiheng suddenly found himself swarmed by court matters. They feltnever-endingg. On the other hand, without Yeye, days started getting dull and lifeless for Bai Yuan. Bai Yuan asked Junkai, “How should I pass the time now?”

Junkai replied with sincerity, “Perhaps if you have any hobby like embroidery or pottery?”

Bai Yuan shook his head, “I don't like those. Can you bring me some ink and paper?”

“Sure” Junkai soon came back with brushes, ink and papers, “Are you taking up writing, master?”

Bai Yuan chuckled, “I'm bad at writing; I'll just..um..sketch some design I once dreamt of making.” Bai Yuan dips the brush in ink and starts concentrating on his sketches. Junkai looks with curiosity, “What are these? They look so familiar yet I can't grasp….”

“Ah, they're jewellery and other accessories, how do they look?”

“They look…. uncommon. I've never seen such jewellery.”

“I know. They're pretty uncommon here…” Bai Yuan blurted out subconsciously. But Junkai was dense, her eyes were fixed on a bracelet Bai Yuan had drawn.

Bai Yuan asked with a gentle voice, “Do you like that one?” Junkai nodded.

“I'll try to find a skilled craftsman to make one for you.”

“Oh, not me…I just…thought..

It'd….suit…” Junkai could feel her cheeks become warm.

“Suit? Who?” Bai Yuan smirked, “What're you hiding?mmhm?”

Junkai shook her head desperately, “There's no such thing! It's a misunderstanding!”

“Oh? Anyways, I'll believe you. But fo wish that Cupid blesses you with your destined encounter”

“Cupid? What's that?”

“Ignore it.” Bai Yuan goes back to focusing on designing his dream jewellery collection.

After a few hours, he's bored again, “I think I should do something else. Can you please take them and keep them safely in my room?”

Bai Yuan starts walking aimlessly, leaving behind the confused Junkai.

“Wait…master, which roo-?” Before she could reach Bai Yuan, he was taken away by Xu Ying.

“Your Highness, Master asks for your presence in his study.”

Bai Yuan raised an eyebrow, “What's wrong?”

Xu Ying fidgets nervously, “U....You should see by yourself.”

“...Oh…lead the way”

In Wang Yiheng’s study.

Wang Xiyi spoke with visible excitement, “Brother, this is your chance! I'll block everyone outside, don't worry, okay!”

Wang Yiheng was frozen in his seat, “I-...”

“You're the Emperor! What do you not have? You didn't flinch slashing enemies and you're nervous about confessing? Are you kidding me?”

Wang Yiheng shook his head in frustration, “Ugh… you won't understand this…”

“Huh? How do you think I bagged someone like Mo Liangcheng?”

“I wonder…that's still a mystery to me. I thought scholar Mo had higher standards.”

Wang Xiyi stood there with a  speechless face, “(-_-)”

Wang Yiheng stood up and groaned, “What if I mess up?”

Wang Xiyi slapped his forehead before continuing, “Trust me, you'll be fine. Just…use your charms a bit at such moments,” saying so his hands move to expose more of Yiheng's tanned torso, “Come on, he's your spouse. Showing some skin won't harm you.”

Wang Yiheng squirmed uncomfortably, “Stop, stop, touching me weirdly.”

Xiyi huffed in annoyance, “Really brother? I get to touch milky white porcelain skin every day; why would I want to touch your tanned rock body? Tch”

“What a racist prince….sighs…”

Wang Yiheng exclaimed silently as he fixed his almost revealing clothes, just to make sure that it appeared unintentional.

Wang Xiyi moved to step out, “I'll go and handle things outside, good luck.”

Wang Yiheng paced nervously inside his organised study, trying to recite everything he prepared and make a proper confession to Bai Yuan. At such a time, the door creaked, the door opening slowly. As Xiyi arranged, with the door opening, rose petals fell from above, making the atmosphere more romantic.

Wang Yiheng excitedly took a step forward with a big smile,

“You came!”

However, in the next moment, he realised it wasn't Bai Yuan.
