~CHAPTER 19~

*•*•*•Can I feel sorry for you now?•*•*•*

I found myself once again running laps around the soccer field at 5:00 in the morning. I was sleeping peacefully when a nightmare struck. I just want to cry, but I know that if I start to cry I won't be able to stop. Chase woke up but I told him that I was fine and that he could go back to sleep. Sleep, I need to sleep. I just keep getting the same three nightmares over and over again. This time when my legs felt like jelly I just kept pushing. When I'm done I go to the twilight clearing as I like to call it. And just lay there for a couple of minutes till I hear someone come my way.

"What are you doing here?"

"I'm just laying here."

"Clearly." He says and lay's down next to me. "My question is why are you laying down here?"

"Because I'm tired."

"Of what?"

"Of running."

"Why were you running?"

"Because I didn't want to go back to sleep." I pause. "Because nightmares are a bitch, and they hate me, so they're on a repetitive loop in my mind, and they drive me fucking crazy, and make me want to cry all the time, and I don't want to fucking cry."

"I'm sorry Addie." He says and I smile at the nickname.

"You have nothing to be sorry for." I smile sadly and turn to face him. "It's not your fault. You shouldn't feel obligated to say sorry because society dictates that we should feel sorry for people that are having a bad day."

"But you're not having a bad day. You're having a bad month. Can I feel sorry for you now?"

"Nope." I say, he chuckles and I smile a little.

"Okay then. If I can't feel sorry for you can I at least take you to breakfast everybody is waiting for us."

"Sure, let's go." I extend my hands like the lazy person that I am and he helps me up. "Thank you."

We make our way to the dining hall and he grabbed breakfast for the both of us, while I went to say hello to everybody. When he came back he had come back with two bowls of cereal, and I smile at him. I'm just going to eat this and not say anything, he did a thoughtful thing and I'm not going to complain.

Ooh but how you want to tell him that you hate cereal.

Shut up.

We continue eating and talking for the rest of the morning. Well they were eating I was just playing with my cereal.

"You good?" Chas asks and I nod.

"Not really that hungry but thank you."  He smiles a real smile at me and I smile back. I love his real smile he has this cute boyish smile that show off all his teeth and make the corner of his eyes crinkle. It's the cutest smile ever. "You should smile more."

"I'll think about it." The rest of the morning was spent doing nothing in the dining hall just talking about what the plans for the day were. After we left the dining hall the girls went back to Alastair, and us obviously to Fredrickson. The girls asked me if I wanted to go to the movies with them and I told them I had some school assignments to finish but as soon as I finished, we could all go.

"Hey, what is the square root of fifty plus seven times x minus 8?"

"Is it 15?"

"I don't know that's why I'm asking you."

"Sorry. Then I don't know." When he finishes saying this something came to mind. I turn around in my chair and speak.

"Hey chase?"

"Yeah?"

"What day is it today?"

"Umm I think it's the 25th why?"

"No reason." My period is supposed to be here today. I check the app on my phone, and oh my god yay my period is here. Nearest Walgreens here I come. I stand up and grab my jacket, wallet, keys and cellphone.

"Hey where are you going?" He asks when I start opening the door.

"Umm out, I have some things to take care of." I quietly leave and go to that parking lot. "Hey Officer Smith."

"Hi Maddie. Heading out?"

"Yep. I'll be back before curfew."

"Considering that curfew is about 7 hours away I think you'll make it." He chuckles and I laugh.

"See ya later Officer Smith."

"See ya later Maddie." I get in my car and start making my way to the nearest Walgreens. Now you see back at home the Walgreens girls always used to let me come through the back and always had what I needed when it was that time in the month. They are the nicest people you can meet.

I get out of the car and go inside I want to make this as fast as possible. I grab the pads and I have this feeling that I'm being watched, so I start going into random isles to see if whoever is following me will follow me. When whoever the fuck is following, keeps following me, I turn around and see Chase.

"Are you kidding me?" when he doesn't say anything I continue. "You followed me all the way here just to see what I was doing?"

"I didn't follow you I got in your trunk when you weren't watching."

"What? How-"

"Surprise?" he say raises his hand in a questioning matter and I roll my eyes.

"Ugh. Let's go." I grab his arm and start dragging him to the check-out line.

"Is that all you're buying?"

"Unless you're offering to buy." We stop behind an old woman who has basket full of pills.

"What do you want?" I look up at him in surprise.

"Wait really?"

"Sure."

"You're lying and when we get to the isle you're going to say something like nope and go the other way."

"Is that how you think of me?"

"Bueno, depende."

"Come on what do you want?" I grab his hand and drag him to the medicine isle. I grab some Tylenol and then drag him to the candy isle to grab some chocolate. The only good thing that comes from periods are all you can eat chocolate. We get to the check-out counter and the cashier looks at the stuff then at me.

"Oh sweetheart I'm sorry." She says and starts scanning the things.

"She doesn't like it when people say sorry to her for things that were not their fault." Chase says and I elbow him right in the ribs. The cashier laughs a little and Chase hands her the money.

"You two make a cute couple." Chase and I look at each other and burst out laughing.

"We're not a couple, we're roommates. He followed me here just so see what I was doing."

"I didn't follow you, I was in you trunk there's a difference."

"And the difference is?"

"That if I followed you I would have had to have come in my car, I came in your car, so I didn't follow you I- I'm not helping myself." He says when he realizes we were both looking at him with amused facial expressions.

"Go start the car." I say and give him the keys and he leaves. I grab the bags and say thank you before leaving. "What are you doing in the passenger seat?"

"You said yesterday and I quote 'nobody is allowed to drive my baby only I am.'" He says with a finger snap at the end.

"I'm in pain I'm not driving." I say and signal for him to move to the driver's seat. My phone buzzed in my pocket and I when I check it I see it's May.

June 🌺: Hey babe you done with your hoework?

Me: Hoework?

June 🌺: Oh shit it was supposed to be homework. Ya done?

Me: Nope, I'm not even at the dorm.

June 🌺: Where are you?

Me: Walgreens, death week is here.

June 🌺: Oh well rain-check?

Me: Yes please :(

"I'm hungry." I say

"Me too. You want Chinese food?"

"Ooh yes but not that one close to the school I bought there and it did not taste good."

"Oh I know. It's disgusting." He takes a left and keeps going down the road. We get to the restaurant and immediately Chase is attacked by a girl that's about our age. "Ow."

"Where have you been loco?" She says still on top of him.

You're jealous

Me jealous?

Yes you.

No I'm not.

Yes you are.

Shut up

"At school. Now get off me." she gets off of him and he hugs her.

"You're so mean to me."

"No I'm not."

"Why are you here?"

"To get food. It is a restaurant after all."

"Okay who is the cutie that's with you?"

"Oh." He says a look of realization crossing over his face. "Lexi this is Maddison, Addie this is Lexi."

"Hi it's nice to meet you." I say and smile at her a fake smile.

"Yeah you too." She smiles back and she goes behind the counter. "So what would you like to eat?" we tell her what we want and she gives the order to the cook. An old woman comes out of the kitchen and starts yelling at Lexi.

"How many times do I have to tell you to not attack the customers?" The old woman says and Chase chuckles. She turns to us with apologetic eyes but when she sees Chase a smile breaks out on her face. "Chase it's you."

"It is." She hugs him and I smile at the action. He acts like such an asshole to everybody else but he truly is a sweet person. When they start to talk Lexi comes close to me and starts talking with me.

"So how did you meet him?"

"At school, he's my roommate."

"Shit really?"

"Yep." I nod and laugh a little.

"Well it must suck to be you huh?"

"No he's a good roommate. Sure I wasn't happy that I had to room with a guy, but he's a good person."

"Aww that's sweet. You must be special then because he's never come in here with a girl or a person at that."

"How long have you guys known each other?"

"Oh since about 4 years ago. When he got to the school." she says and laughs. "The day that we met him he was a freshman and was looking for a good place to eat Chinese food because the last place he had eaten was 'fucking terrible' as he put it." She smiles at the memory. We hear someone say 'order up' and right after that we leave.

"Lexi was nice."

"Yeah she was one of my first friends when I first came here." He says and starts pulling up to the school. Now that I realize, the school is much closer to this restaurant then I thought. This is such good news, now I don't have to eat shitty food from the other Chinese restaurant. We get out of the car, walk to the dorm, I changed, and we started to eat. Oh my god this is amazing.

"Oh my god this is so good." I moan taking another bite from my food.

"I know."

Hiii. How are you guys? I hope everybody is doing good. So here is chapter 19. Our babe got her period. Yeah, yeah, he followed her, but he bought her everything she needed. New character her name is Lexi as you guys know.
