~CHAPTER 52~

"That was such a good flight." I say yawning and everybody nods. We were walking outside with our luggage when I see George. He was holding up a sign that said Maddison and Friends. I dropped my suitcase and carry-on and ran towards George. "What are you doing here?"

"I came to pick you up."

"You didn't have to do that, we could've gotten home in an Uber."

"Nonsense." He said as he side hugged me and I nodded. "Want me to go pick up your suitcase?"

"Nonsense. You're already picking us up, that is enough for me." I say and walk back to everybody with George. "Everybody this is George, my second father figure. He has been with my family since before I could walk."

"I'm the family chauffer." He says and everybody nods. I pick up my suitcase and carry-on and walk towards the car placing them in the trunk. Everybody did the same and we get into the car. I sat up front with George and everybody else sat in the back.

"George how have you been?"

"I've been great. Driving everybody around. Well except for my kids and Sebastian. They said that they're adults now and that they can drive themselves to places." He says chuckling and I smile. "We all missed you Maddie. Since most of us didn't see you for Thanks giving."

"All of you?" I asked knowing the truth.

"Yes all of us."

"Well except Javi of course." I said and he shook his head.

"Even Javi Maddie." He says nodding while he smiles.

"I mean I would understand if he didn't. You know."

"Yeah. He just misses his best friend." George says and I nod.

"Yeah I missed my best friend too." I say and George smiles.

"Well good because everybody is waiting at the house for you."

"You're fucking lying."

"I'm not." He says laughing. I turn towards everybody and smile.

"You guys are going to love everybody. Well Cole, May and Lizzie have met almost everybody, but you two." I point towards Chase and Lucas. "You guys will love everybody." Chase smiles at me and I smile back.

"I'm loving your enthusiasm princess." He says and I laugh.

"You haven't met anybody yet. Well only Seb and mom, but nobody else." I state and continue. "Olivia, Natasha, George and well my father shaped me into the kind, educated girl that I am today."

In a matter of seconds we all burst out laughing. We couldn't stop laughing.

"No but seriously, they did. They were like my four parents. And then of course we could never forget the siblings. You'll all meet them soon."

"Really soon." George said and I looked forward seeing that we were approaching the house. We stop outside and park in the driveway. When I get out of the car the front door opened and Javi walked out.

"Careful everybody there is a crazy person o the premises." He said and I started running towards him and he holds his arms open for me. I hug him and he hugs me back.

"I'm so sorry." I say and he shakes his head.

"I'm sorry for being such a jackass." He says and I laugh. He pulls away to look at my face and smiles. "Too long Madds." We pull away completely and I speak.

"I agree." I laugh nodding. He looks behind me and I look behind me too to see Chase glaring at Javi while he takes the suitcases out of the car.

"Scary. Who is that?"

"Uhm..."  I pause.

"Oh." He nods looking at the floor playing with the gravel.

"I thought Hailey had told you."

"She didn't."

"His name is Chase." I say and wave Chase over. He walks over with our suitcases and stops right in front of us. I stand in front of him and look at Javi. Chase hugs me from behind and we sway a little.

Way to shove it in his face.

I'm not shoving anything.

"Javi this is Chase. Chase this is Javier." I introduce them and they shake hands.

"Nice to meet you man" C/hase says and Javi nods.

"Same." He pauses looking around. "I'm gonna go wait inside." I nod and turn towards Chase.

"Ex-boyfriend?" He asks looking at me in the eyes.

"Yes." I nod and he sighs. "Are you jealous?" I tease him and he smiles mumbling a no.

"Baby you have nothing to be jealous of." I smile leaning up to kiss him.

"Baby huh?"

"It sounded weird the moment I said it." I cringe at myself and he laughs.

"I thought it was cute." He pulls me closer resting his hands on my waist and I rest my arms around his neck.

"You're cute."

"Come on princess what have I said about calling me cute?"

"That you are very cute and I should just embrace it."  I say sighing while looking away sadly. I feel the vibrations of his chuckle against my chest and smile resting my head on his chest.

"I'm not cute."

"Yes you are. You're a freaking teddy bear."

"Yeah, yeah. Come on let's go inside." He says and I grab my suitcase walking inside with Chase. We leave all of our stuff in the living room and Chase looks around. "I think you're taking my position as the richest person in school."

"It's my mom's money, not mine." I explain and he nods. I grab his hand and we walk towards the kitchen. "Yes it's me. Your eyes don't deceive you." I say and Sebastian boo's me before I stick my tongue out at him. Mom walks around the counter and comes to give me a huge hug.

"I missed you." She says squeezing the air out of my lungs.

"I missed you too."

"My turn." Olivia walks over to me and I hug her smiling.

"Chase it's so nice to see you again." Mom says and I smile.

"You too Mrs. McKenna." He says politely.

"What did I tell you guys about calling me Mrs. McKenna? It makes me sound old." She says and she starts hugging everybody that entered the kitchen.

I look towards Olivia and she smiles.

"You grew out your hair." She says and I nod.

"Olivia, did you meet my boyfriend Chase?" I say and her eyebrows go up in surprise as she smiles extending her hand so that Chase can shake it. Mom turns her head so fast I think I heard a crack.

"Boyfriend?" Mom asks smirking and I nod laughing. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"I would eventually." I say and look at Olivia. "Liv, this is Cole, May, Lizzie and Lucas. Everybody this is Olivia."

"Where is she?" I hear the loud voice of Belle followed by the louder voice of Hailey.

"She's my best friend why are you asking."

They both burst into the kitchen running towards me. They tackle me to the ground and I groan.

"You guys are killing me." I say struggling to breath. They laugh and stand up helping me up.

"I missed you." Belle says and I nod.

"I missed you too Belle."

"Move bitch." Hailey says making us all laugh. She hugs me tightly and I smile. "Before I welcome you back. ¿Cuál es?"

"El de la camisa azúl."

"No mientes es muy guapo." She says making Lizzie and Cole chuckle. I turn a little red looking at Chase and he give me a confused look. I shrug and Hailey laughs.

"Lo es." I nod.

"Y tu hermano ha conocido este compañero de cuarto?"

"No. Lo conocera cuando llegue. No es como si puede hacer algo para evitar que el sea mi compañero de cuarto."

"No estes muy segura. Mark tiene dinero." She nods and I sigh.

"I no speak foreign language." Seb says making all of us laugh.

"Just asking if Mark met Chase yet."

"Spoiler alert he hasn't." I said. "It's going to be fine. At least he knows Chase is a boy. So the biggest part of the freak out already happened at thanks giving."

"Yes, but was he your boyfriend on thanks giving?" she asks and I shake my head no. "That's what I thought."

"What happened during thanks giving?" Lucas asked and I was about to reply when Seb answered.

"Maddie realized she loves Chase and Mark freaked out. No biggie." Chase smirks and I shake my head at him smiling.

"You love me." He teases and I cover my face with my hands from how red I must be. He walks over to me and hugs me kissing my forehead.

"It's not news to you asshole." I said muffled by his shirt and he chuckles. I pull back smiling. "But yes I do." I turn back towards mom who was looking at us with an aww face.

"Mark is getting here?" I drawl out the question hoping for an answer.

"In two days." She says.

"Why so early? I furrow my brows. He always got here around the 23rd.

"He said that he wanted to be here way before your Birthday." She says and I curse under my breath.

"Shit." I say. Everybody looks at me.

"It's your birthday?" May asks.

"Not today?" I say sheepishly and she shakes her head baffled.

"Then when?"

"On the 24th?" I say walking around the counter as they all look at me. Chase looked kind of hurt that he didn't know.

"Seriously?" May asks in a high pitched voice and I nod. "Your birthday is this Thursday and you told us nothing?"

"It didn't come up."

"That is no excuse." Lucas says and May point a finger at him as if saying that he has stated a good point.

"I didn't want to celebrate this year." I shrug grabbing a strawberry.

"What? Why not?" Mom asks and I look at her.

"Dad isn't here this year." I look down at the now very interesting floor and the whole kitchen went silent. I look up smiling sadly at everybody. "You guys know what? I'm kind of tired. I'm going to take a nap."

I grab a water bottle from the fridge and walk away. I walk up the stairs and into my room closing the door. I walk towards my bed suddenly feeling tired. I flop down on it and pull myself so that I'm completely on the bed. I put my water bottle on my nightstand and close my eyes.

...

Naps are the best thing in the world. It's like you take one and instantly all of your problem are solved. If could get paid for sleeping, my lazy ass would never leave my bed. I unfortunately got woken up by my door opening and closing. I move my head towards the door my eyes still closed.

"Who is it? I may not have my eyes open, but I can easily locate my taser." I say and then peak one eye open. I see Chase and I scoot over so that he has space on my bed. I tap the space next to me and he walks over laying on his back placing his arm under his head for support and I cuddle close to him as he scratches my back with his free hand.

"Why didn't you tell me?" he asks and I open my eyes. I look up at him and sigh.

"I've always loved my birthday. I mean who wouldn't." I say. "It's also my father's birthday. We were born on the same day. We have this tradition to go on a birthday trip during New Years, just the two of us and well. This year that won't be happening."

"That sucks."

"Major dick." I say and he chuckles.

"Wait didn't your mom die when she had you?"

"She did why?"

"I just can't imagine how much that must've hurt your father. I mean the love of his life dying on his birthday."

"I had never thought of that." I say and continue. "I never thought about what he must've been going through all of these years. Her loss must've been hard on him."

"Just like his was on you."

"Yeah, but I loved him, he was in love with her."

"What's the difference?"

"Well for starters he was my father. And second of all. She had his heart in her hands. She took it with her. I think she gave it back though, because if she hadn't he never would've fallen in love with mom."

"Yeah. That's true. Then you wouldn't have a stepmom."

"Mom." I corrected him and he nods smiling.

"A mom." I smiled and kissed him.

"A mom." I said nodding.

AUTHOR'S NOTE

I MADE IT!! Better late than never am I right? Well folks here is Chapter 52. I cringed many times. And it is a filler chapter. Writing 53 as we speak because I want to be done before summer. Because I have other surprises, that are coming during summer. Those of you who follow the instagram y'all know what I'm talking about. Soooooooo how have all of you been? Are y'all great, bad, super, super bad, smiling because I've uploaded a new chapter, or D none of the above. I missed you but I know all of you know that. Who knew that Maddie's b-day was on the 24th? And her father's too? Sometimes I forget that none of you know what runs through my mind and sometimes forget that you don't know the things I know about the book. I mean there are some things that I have been hiding for a while. All will come to light soon.
