Chapter 1030
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
TE SONUS After a twoâandâaâhalfâhour movie, Blake and Liam ended up in a packed elevator. Blake winced as someone acrâdentally stepped on her foot. Liam quickly guided her to a less crowded spot, asking. âYou âYeah, Iâm fine.â
âHang in there, just a little longer,â
âOkay.â Blake found solace behind Liam, their hands finding each otherâs. She glanced up at him, her heart fluttering.
When they finally reached the ground floor, Liam did not let go of her hand, his brow furrowed slightly.
Blake had noticed him closing his eyes now and then during the movie.
âIs everything alright? You donât look too good,â Blake expressed her concern.
Liam looked a bit worn out, and shook his head, âIâm okay. Let me take you home.â
Blake recalled a text from her mom and asked, âIs it your headache again?â
Liamâs pained expression reminded Blake of a weary golden retriever, endearing yet pitiful. He gave a weak smile and said, âJust need to take my medicine back at home.â
âI canât let you suffer like this. Letâs get you some medicine. I know how bad headaches can get. Letâs go, Iâll help you out.â Blake insisted.
Before Liam could protest, Blake took his hand and guided him out of the building. At that moment, Liamâs gaze remained fixed on Blake unbeknownst to her.
In a nearby parked car, Kevin and Susan watched them leave. Susan remarked, âIsnât that Blake? No wonder she left right on time, sheâs meeting her boyfriend âHe does look pretty handsome,â Susan added, glancing at Kevin, who seemed displeased.
Quick/t Blake Liam headache medicine and a bottle of water.
âThis always works f works for me and itâs gentle on the stomach,â Blake explained, handing Liam two pills.
Blake noticed Liam hesitated and she urged, âGo ahead, take them.â
âOkay Liam seemed a bit out of it, either from the headache or something else. As he took the pills, his lips brushed against her palm, leaving Blake momentarily stunned âDonât forget to drink some water,â Blake reminded Liam, unscrewing the bottle cap and holding it to his lips, noticing he kept his hands in his pockets.
âYouâre not running a fever, are you? Let me check,â Blake said, reaching up to Liamâs forehead.
Liam instinctively bent down, allowing Blake to touch his forehead. Comparing it to her own, she concluded, âNo fever, probably just stress from overworking. This medicine should help. Youâll feel better soon.â
âThanks,â Liam murmured.
âI should get you home. Wouldnât want you passing out on me. Whereâs your place?â Blake inquired, genuinely concerned.
1031 There Liam took his hand out from his pocket and pointed in a direction, toward a highâend residential Wow, youâre quite wealthy. Letâs go⦠The monthly rent for staying here must be quite expensive.â
Blake happily chatted with Liam and watched a movie with him. They were like friends who had known each other for a long time. Blake noticed that he did not like to talk much.
Liam responded, âNah, itâs not that expensive.â
Blake said, âYour jobâs pretty nice. You stay at home every day writing novels. You donât need to network or deal with angry bosses. You know, the people around me are a bunch of monsters.â
Liam looked away from the road to stare at Blake, âIf youâre not happy at work, you should quit.â
Blake chuckled and looked at him, âIâm not like you. I donât eam hundreds of thousands of dollars or even millions in a month. Besides, if I donât work, whoâll support me? I donât want to burden my aunt.â
Liam responded, âI have money. Iâll support you.â
Upon hearing this, Blake suddenly choked on her own saliva. The wind blew at her and messed up her hair. The lights at the road side reflected in Liamâs eyes. Blake smiled at Liam, âLiam, your joke isnât funny at all. Weâve just met, and youâre already talking about supporting me?
âWe just met each other through a blind date, so we should take it slow. Who says stuff like that at such an early stage?â
Liam lowered his head like a wellâbehaved child who had said something wrong. Blake looked at him and suddenly noticed that his hair looked extremely soft.
They then arrived at a highâend residential area.
Liam stopped walking, âWeâre here.â
Blake nodded, âYou can take the medicine. Iâm not going up with you.â
Iâll pay you.â Liam took out his wallet from his pocket, but Blake stopped him and said, âItâs fine. Itâs just a little over ten dollars.
âItâs almost ten oâclock. I need to go home. You should go up now.â
Blake turned away to leave without looking back. Liam watched her back as she left. His body moved.
slightly d said, âGood night.â
5 Good night, Liam!â Blake waved to him.
She left the residential area and walked to the main street. When she was about to hail a taxi, the cold wind blew at her and made her rub her arms. It was only then that she realized she was still wearing Liamâs gloves, âHow could I forget about returning this to him? Itâs fine, Iâll return the gloves to him next time.
She thought, âCompared to the previous blind dates, heâs left a relatively good Impression. However, I canât help but notice he seemed a little delicate. Heâs like a frail, pampered aristocrat who gets sick easily. And Iâm like a maid serving by his side, who suddenly caught his eye.â
Blake was amused by her own metaphor.
She then kicked a stone nearby. The stone suddenly hit a tire and bounced back.
Blake looked up and saw a car parked in front of her. She was startled as her eyes trembled.
She said, âMr. Harrison? Why are you here?â
Kevin lowered the car window, âGet in.â
Blake rejected him without any hesitation, âIâItâs fine! Iâve called a car. Itâll be here soonâ¦â
âWhat are you doing?! Are you leaving or not?!â The driver behind stuck his head out and started scolding.
Blake quickly opened the front passenger door and got into the car.
