Chapter 1042
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
When the car arrived, OlÃvia opened the car door for Liam. She turned and asked, âWhatâs wrong?â
âIâm waiting for her,â Liam answered. His eyes fixed in Blakeâs direction.
Not far away, Blake held four cups of lattes while running over. She was panting slightly, and her cheeks were flushed. She said cheerfully, âLattes on me.â
Olivia declined, âIâm sorry, Ms. Dion. Liam and I donât drink lattes.â
Liam surprised both by accepting the latte and said, âItâs fine. I can drink it.â
Then, Liam opened the door to the backseat and gestured, âHop on.â
Blake replied, âThank you.â
Liam usually sat with Olivia, who acted more like his personal assistant than an editor. Their website was once a little-known literary platform, but after Liamâs debut as Xander Gale, it outperformed many.
renowned sites in earnings. With expansion and its own sales channels, the site is not a leader in literature.
Meeting Liam was a stroke of luck for Olivia. Back then, her mother was undergoing cancer surgery.
Olivia, a lowly newspaper editor, found Liam writing in the hospital. She was overseeing a fantasy novel section, and Liam happened to be writing that genre, making her his first reader and close ally.
Then, Olivia received a bonus from Liamâs published work and it was a great success. She took that bonus to launch her own literary website, bringing Liam along. Under her business acumen and Liamâs literary talent, the website flourished, growing from just the two of them to a larger operation. Together, they had made significant progress.
Olivia sat shotgun and asked, âSince when did you like drinking lattes? Did you forget what the doctor said?â
Blake interjected, âShoot, I almost forgot about it. Youâre sick and need rest. You also canât have anything with sugar. You should give it back to me.â
Liam assured Blake, âItâs fine. I can drink it once in a while. Donât worry.â
Blake stretched her hand out before retracting it. She said, âOkay. The lattes arenât expensive. Itâs just a few dollars. Stop drinking it if it causes any discomfort to you.â
Liam obliged, âAlright.â
As the car moved, Olivia and Liam discussed issues regarding the book. Blake could not join in, so she sat quietly and finished a latte. She planned to drink the rest after she finished eating.
Blake burped in satisfaction before leaning into her seat. The voices started to fade away as she went to sleep.
Olivia added, âWe need to push the latest update sooner. Youâve only released a new chapter yesterday.â
Liam took out a blanket and covered Blake. He agreed calmly, âMhm.â
âDonât disturb her. Sheâs resting, âLiam told Olivia.
The journey, typically a half-hour drive, stretched into two hours due to rush hour traffic. Blake woke up the moment they reached The Deli.
The three of them walked into The Deli, and the manager welcomed them. Blake looked around curiously and commented, âHow odd. Thereâs no one here at this hour.â
