Chapter 1198
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
Cecilia thought to herself, âI may not be able to confront Fred directly, but I dare you, Blake, to stay in Southern Haven Villas indefinitely.â
When Blake stepped out of the police car at Southern Haven Villas, she was initially barred from entering. However, a middle-aged woman called out from behind, âLet her in, young man. I know her.
Sheâs a good person.â It was Margaret, holding Dalton.
Zachary compared the photos and, after receiving information from a guard, permitted Blake to enter.
As Blake entered, she noticed someone hiding in the bushes with a camera. She shouted, âThereâs someone in the bushes taking pictures! Catch him!â
The discovered photographer attempted to flee, but Zachary fired a warning shot, declaring, âRun again, and the next bullet wonât miss.â
The loud bang startled the birds in the forest and caused the photographer, now terrified, to wet himself and fall to the ground. Blake hurried over and checked his camera, finding it full of pictures of Dalton.
Feeling that something was wrong, Blake demanded, âWho hired you to take these photos?â
âI donât know! I was just paid to do a job. I swear I donât know anything! Please, donât kill me!â pleaded the photographer..
âShow me the phone number of the person who contacted you,â Blake insisted.
r The man displayed a string of unfamiliar numbers. A familiar voice answered when Blake dialed the number, âHave you gotten the photos 1 requested? Theyâre for Ms. Samford. Mess this up, and youâll deeply regret it.â
Blake recognized it was Susanâs voice. She learned that they only wanted photos of Dalton. After confirming that the photos had not been sent, Blake destroyed the cameraâs memory card and smashed the camera. She could not take any chances with Ceciliaâs intentions, especially since a child was involved. Blake thought, âIt was a close call.â
âMs. Dion, would you like some water?â Margaretâs voice broke her train of thought.
Returning to reality, Blake asked Margaret, âYou know me?â
Margaret replied, âOf course, Ms. Jent mentioned you and showed me your photo. Ms. Harper is your cousin, right?â
Blake nodded. âYes. You know her as well?â
Margaret laughed. âOh, absolutely! Every time she visits, the food I prepare is never enough. I recall a few months ago, she consumed two whole pots! Mr. Jardin appeared displeased. If Ms. Jent hadnât intervened, Ms. Harper mightâve eaten even more. By the way, Ms.
Dion, Iâve been curious since the wedding. Why did Mr. Jardin and Ms.
Jent suddenly disappear? And those strangers at the gate, I have no idea where they came from.â
