Chapter 122
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
âWhat about drinks? What would you like?â
Madelyn responded, âJust a cup of warm water for me, please.â
âHey, isnât that Madelyn? Long time no see!â
A goofy voice echoed in the silence. Looking in the direction of the voice, Madelyn stood up, flustered.
âZachâ¦â
Zach walked over with an overbearing demeanor. âDone with your classes?â
Madelyn was traumatized by Zach. She panicked as soon as she saw him and felt the urge to immediately explain and defend herself.
Even though Zach did not love her in her past life, he was extremely possessive of her.
Madelyn yelled at herself in her head. âMadelyn Jent! How soft are you going to be?! Youâre just his sister now, yet youâre still so scared of him! Stand up for yourself!â
She nodded. âYeah, coach brought me here for lunch right after my training.â
Tiger stood up and extended his hand. âHi, Iâm Tiger Irwin, Madelynâs golf coach.â
Zach shook his hand and responded, âZach Jardin, Madelynâs brother.â
One was Jardin, while the other was Jentâ¦
But Tiger did not ask further. âWhat a coincidence. Why donât you join us for lunch? Weâve just arrived anyway.â
Zach looked at Madelyn and said, âItâs fine, I have a lunch appointment already.â
Kai stirred things up and said, âNo, Zach! Itâs not every day I get to eat with Madelyn. Jadie still needs some time to get here anyway, so whatâs the rush⦠Isnât that right, Madelyn?â
There was a two-hour long break at Ventrocloud High School, and it only took less than half an hour to get there.
Madelyn was suddenly reminded of something.
Today was Jadieâs birthday, and Madelynâs birthday fell on the 12th of December, exactly a week away from Jadieâs birthday.
She always had a simple birthday. Rosario would bake a cake for her, along with some spaghetti.
Rosario had always taken care of Madelyn, so that meant she would probably not have anything this year.
Hayson would most likely just give her some money. She had not even touched the gift cards that he had given her last time.
âSo, Zach is here to celebrate Jadieâs birthday,â Madelyn thought.
A waitress walked over at this moment and asked, âMr. Jardin, the birthday cake that you ordered is ready. Would you like us to send it to the private room?â
The waitress came over just in time, and Kai was busy studying Madelynâs expression. She looked rather unbothered, which was disappointing for him. He had hoped to witness some dramas unfold.
Kai tried to stir things up again and said, âZach, donât tell me you didnât invite your own sister to Jadieâs birthday!â
It was an awkward situation, and Madelyn just knew that she should not have agreed to have lunch with Tiger.
She quickly explained, âHe did, but I didnât want to attend. I had a falling out with Jadie, so my presence would only make things awkward. Donât worry about me, Zach⦠I have another class.
after lunch too.â
âJust see me when youâre done, Iâll take you there.â Zach responded.
She quickly rejected him. âItâs okay, Mr. Culhane is taking me there.â
âHeâs on his way to pick Jadie up, and heâll drive her back too. How are you even going there?â
At this moment, Tiger said, âIâll take her there. Itâs not easy to get a cab here too⦠Where are you heading to?â
Madelyn clenched her fists. âSkyrise Tower.â
Tiger smiled. âSure, itâs on the way.â
âThanks, coach.â
âDonât worry about it.â
