Chapter 1307
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
Blake tightly held onto the manâs hand, refusing to let go. âI donât want to. Your scent reminds me of him. I donât want to let go of Kevin. If I let go of you, heâll disappear again.â
In Kevinâs arms, Blake lifted his hands and put them back down again.
He said, âBlake, donât be like this. Youâre getting married soon.â
Blake hugged his waist tightly. âI donât like Liam. He and I are just good friends. I promised Kevin that Iâd wait for him to come back. But Cecilia has been pressuring me. The first time, she threatened me with Madelynâs safety. She told me she found her, and if I didnât marry Liam, sheâd kill her.
âThe second time was about Dalâs safety. She even wanted to deal with him. She also wanted to sell Mr. Jardinâs company and told me to help protect it. But I never agreed to any of her demands.
âThe third time was about your safety. Everyone said you were dead, but I didnât believe it. Kevin is so powerful; how could he die?
âWhy is my life so sad? Why canât I even choose the person I like?
âLife is short; if I canât be with the person I like, whatâs the point?â
Kevin responded, âBlake, Iâm sorry!â
He thought, âIâm the one who didnât keep my promise.â
When Kevin heard footsteps approaching, he raised his hand and dropped it vigorously. Blake suddenly blacked out and fainted.
Liam was using his phoneâs light to see in the dark as he walked up from a corridor cluttered with discarded items. He called out, âBlake?â
Hearing a commotion from the balcony, Liam went straight there without any hesitation. He immediately rushed over to Blake when he saw her sleeping on the couch.
Janice happened to be near as well. She breathed a sigh of relief.
when she saw Blake being carried downstairs by Liam. âLuckily, Blake is fine.â
âYeah, she merely fell asleep. Thank you for watching over Blake for me tonight. But how did she end up in a place like this?â
Janice hesitated for a moment but did not reveal the truth. Instead, she said, âItâs actually my fault. I hadnât seen her in a long time and happened to run into her while shopping, so I brought her here. I just didnât expect her to drink so much. She should be fine, right?â
Liam looked at Blake. âSheâll be fine. Thank you for your trouble. Iâll give you a ride home.â
Janice immediately waved her hand. âItâs okay. My home is nearby.â
Liam nodded. âOkay, be safe.â
âOkay.â Janice watched as Liam carried Blake away. She sighed with âOkay.â Janice wa jealousy, âI wish I had a boyfriend like him.â
Just as Janice was about to leave, she suddenly saw a dark figure walking in the corridor not far away. Her eyes flashed, and without much thought, she ran over. âMr. Harrison, is that you? Mr. Harrison!â
Janice chased him all the way to the door before Kevin slowly stopped and turned around.
She said, âMr. Harrison, itâs really you!
âBlake told me everything about you. I think you should go after her and take her back. She truly loves you. Her marriage to Mr. Xander is against her will.â
However, a gentle voice came from nearby. âKevin, we can go home.
now.â
