Chapter 314
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 314 Forrest asked, âHas he visited you?â Sylvia nodded, smiling gently. âHeâs been here non-stop. But with his age, I worried about his health, so I sent him home. The doctor will check on me later. If everythingâs okay, Iâll be discharged tonight.â
âIf he ever does you wrong, heâs gonna deal with me.â She chuckled. âGo get some sleep. Iâm gonna take a stroll downstairs. Later, Iâll whip up your favorite dish.â
âMake sure someone goes with you.â
âI got it.â After a long flight back, Forrest was exhausted. He settled onto Sylviaâs bed and was out like a light in no time. Walking downstairs with her nurse, a sudden tightness gripped Sylviaâs chest, leading to a fierce bout of coughing. She covered her mouth with a pristine white handkerchief, and when she pulled it back, it was stained with blood. âMadam⦠are youâ¦â
Sylvia kept her cool, saying, âItâs just an old health issue. Donât mention it to my husband or my son; I donât want them stressing out.â
âGot it, Madam.â She threw the bloody handkerchief into the trash can nearby. Madelyn did not wake up until noon. As she groggily came to, flashes of the previous night filled her mind, making her stomach churn. âThat darn jerk!â she fumed internally.
Last nightâs bed sheets were a mess, and being the neat freak he is, Zach had replaced them. Madelyn bundled up the dirty ones, ready to trash them, but paused. âWhat if someone notice?â She did not need that kind of talk around her. She scrubbed out the stains until they were barely noticeable and then, confident no one would spot them, tossed them in the garbage.
Margaret walked in. âHey, Iâm here for the laundry.â âJust grab what you need. Where are my father and Zach, by the way?â
Margaret thought, âWhyâs she still hung up on that guy? Heâs bad news,â but she held her tongue.
âTheyâre in the middle of a chess game.â
Madelyn nodded. âDo you think my father is mad I slept in?â Margaret shrugged. âHe didnât say anything at breakfast, but guess what? Mr. Jardin stood up for you.â
Madelyn groaned at the mention of the name. âNever mind. Let me know if my father needs me later.
You can get back to what you were doing.â
âSure thing.â Madelyn was not in the mood to venture out of her room. She kept an electric kettle here to avoid needing water from downstairs during the night.
From her balcony, she saw the remnants of last nightâs snowfall. But this morning, the weather had changed. The sun shone brilliantly, warming the chilly air.
