Chapter 417
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
The night breeze rustled the heavy curtains as Madelyn emerged from the bathroom, towel-drying her hair. She walked to the bedside table, wanting to charge her phone. Its screen was marred by a crack.
It had been working perfectly fine during the day, but now it was constantly disconnecting while she tried to charge it.
Suddenly, the phone vibrated, and Zachâs number appeared on the screen, causing Madelynâs heart to skip a beat. She didnât answer but watched as the call ended automatically.
She thought he might give up, but he immediately sent several messages.
[I know youâre not asleep this early.]
[Youâre being naughty again.]
[Answer the phone, or Iâll come to the Arnold residence myself.]
Madelyn held her breath, and her heart raced. Soon, she received a video clip. It was a steamy, intimate video of them in his car.
He messaged again, [You wouldnât want this to be seen by others, would you?]
Madelyn felt a shiver run down her spine. She had no idea when he had taken that video.
Her phone vibrated again. It was Zach calling again.
Madelyn waited until it was about to disconnect and finally answered the phone. She tried to speak calmly, âWhat do you want?â
She heard the sound of running water and Zachâs heavy breathing on the other end.
Little did she know, Zach was lying in a cold bathtub, using the icy water to extinguish the desire burning within him. In the turbulent waters, he held a firm grip on his manhood, causing ripples in the water.
He replied, âIâve sent you a text. Read it to me.â
Madelyn saw the text and blushed. Despite it being a poem from old literature, Madelyn knew exactly what scene it was describing, making her cheeks turn crimson.
âYou freaking pervert! Youâre going too far.â
She wasnât foolish; she knew what Zach was doing.
âAre you trying to defy me? You know Iâm capable of anything. Donât think that just because youâre at the Arnold residence, I canât get to you! Donna Jolie is back; how long do you think you can hide?
Huh?â
Madelyn felt a sharp pain in her heart. âSo, he knows everything.â
Zach remained silent for a dozen seconds before urging, âRead it now!â
Madelynâs heart skipped a beat, and she bit her lip. She slowly began to read the poem aloud, her voice trembling slightly as she did, [In yon chamber, by passionâs sweetest grace, Where loveâs birds upon quilts find their rightful place, A tale of ardent longing doth now unfold, In poses of desire, their storyâs told.
Her skin doth glow with allureâs gentle grace, While his manhood doth share secrets, none can trace.
In stolen moments of fervent, fervid delight, Her tongue, like a parrot, seeks desireâs heightâ¦]
Madelynâs voice created a soft melody that reached deep into Zachâs heart.
As she read, she couldnât help but be embarrassed at the sound of Zachâs heavy breathing on the other end of the line. She wished she could cover her ears and block it out.
Half an hour passed, and it wasnât until he let out a groan that Madelyn had finished reading. She felt a deep sense of shame as she quickly hung up the phone.
In the late hours of the night, another call came through, but Madelyn didnât answer.
She found it strange, thinking, âIâve clearly blocked Zachâs number, so how is he still able to call me from the blocked list?â Lost in thought, she eventually drifted off to sleep.
At six-thirty, her alarm clock went off, and Madelyn groggily woke up. When she went downstairs, the servants had already prepared breakfast.
